16 Year Old Traveling Alone - Yes Or No

Can a 16 year old travel alone?

Yes you can travel on your own as a 16 year old. As long as you have photo ID such as a passport to confirm your identity. Hopefully someone will be meeting you at the airport in London to pick you up so all you need to do is get on the plane by yourself. There is absolutely nothing to worry about and you will be fine. If you need any help, the airline staff are always there to help.If you mean that you are making the entire trip on your own then I would think that you would find it difficult to get a hotel room at your age. You usually need to be 18 to book a hotel room and you need a credit card in order to secure the room against any damages caused.I think the Travelodge allows under 18's to stay there so you might want to try there if you are on your own. If you are not used to travelling on your own you should make sure that you take extra security precautions when out and about such as not taking any valuables and not looking like a tourist.I hope you enjoy your stay in London.

Can a 16 year old travel by plane alone?

"How does a simple recent real life factual experience get thumbs down?"

Simply put, it's because this experience isn't reflective of policy on all airlines, and only relates to passengers who are flying as an unaccompanied minor on certain airlines. It's true that, on many airlines, a minor who is using the unaccompanied minor service is restricted from flying on the last flight of the day -- however, as correctly noted in several other answers given to this question, the unaccompanied minor service is completely optional on any airline in the US for a passenger who is 15 or older.

If a 16-year-old flies alone without the payment of the unaccompanied minor fee (which is allowed by every single airline), there is no restriction as to when they can fly. They are treated, for all intents and purposes, as an adult -- the airline does not limit them to flying on certain routes or at certain times.

Thus, to directly answer the question asked, a 16-year-old may fly by plane alone with any airline in the US, either with the purchase of the unaccompanied minor service or otherwise. The restrictions regarding when and on which flights the minor may use would only apply to instances where the unaccompanied minor service has been purchased -- again, though, because this is optional, it doesn't apply to all instances.

What are some helpful tips for a 22-year-old traveling alone to China?

China has some absolutely amazing sights and scenery (spend as much time in Sichuan province as you can!)The only difficulty you may encounter is the language. I can speak mandarin so this was not a huge problem for me, but all the ticket counters, most hotels and transport options will not speak English. Otherwise, yes, it is a challenge to travel solo in China without at least a basic competency of Mandarin. But in terms of safety, you will have no problem, if that is what you are most worried about. If possible, bring a Chinese speaker along, or before you go, try to get some basic phrases. Or you can bring some translate apps with you. When I wen to China,I used Takeasy. It helped a lot when I meet some trouble I can not handle it myself. It’s a remote on-line real-time and instant live human translator. You can make calls anytime and anywhere, remote online interpreter will handle your needs and reply you in real-time.Chinese, English, French, German, Japanese, Korean, Portuguese,Russian and Spanish are supported.

Can a 16 year old travel to South Korea alone?

Ok, When you say "what if someone asks you to work in his parlor" or some ****, I am not stupid enough like the Juicy's there, sorry to say. I have lived in Korea for more than 3 years. I know how everything is over there. I never asked you guys about the threat level or anything, because I have lived there, like I said. I simply asked if I will have trouble going through immigration, I do not want to hear questions like "are you old enough? are you mature enough?" Just because I am 16 does not mean I am immature and don't know what I am doing. I am even more mature than most adults, I know that for a fact. Just because I said "Nothing will happen" does not mean I am not mature enough. AND PLUS, I know that I am old enough to travel on my own because I simply called the airlines that I will be flying on. Stop giving me answers like "your only 16". There are 8 year olds that fly by themselves all the time. I know what documents I need in o

Can a 15 year old and 16 year old travel alone on Amtrak?

Don't waste your money on Amtrak, you're better off taking a bus! Sure, Amtrak is more comfortable, has Wi-Fi on short-distance routes only, and allows more checked baggage, but Amtrak cannot challenge all the advantages of travelling by Greyhound.

Amtrak's dining car serves overpriced, bland, and repetitive food; their lounge cars are hardly better for viewing the scenery compared to the huge Greyhound windows.

Greyhound is a much better transport option than Amtrak. Greyhound is safer, cheaper, faster, more fuel-efficient, more on-time, runs more frequently, serves much more destinations, offers huge service coverage, has through-ticketing to dozens of other companies, offers Wi-Fi service on at least 70% of all coaches, and allows more rest stops.

I've done both methods of travel many times, and I can say that Greyhound is the much better option, especially if you really want to see more of America. Amtrak is only worth it if you can get a good cheap deal for a Sleeper Roomette, which allows enough extra perks to equal Greyhound's value, but if the Roomette is too expensive, then just Go Greyhound!

The extra legroom on Amtrak is usually because most people, including me, can stretch out on a Greyhound seat already. The extra room is just wasted space. Greyhound has more than enough room for your bags, too. And Amtrak requires too much subsides compared Greyhound, since Amtrak loses loads of money.

Greyhound uses highway subsides too, but it's virtually irrelevant because Greyhound buses are very rare compared to the number of cars on the road. The average Greyhound passenger only uses a few cents from the Highway Trust Fund.

Don't be afraid of suspicious passengers on the bus. They will not trouble you. Most just look weird and dangerous; they're not actually that bad. The restrooms, luggage compartments, and the entire buses in general have now gotten much cleaner. Food is not very important.

The best seats are at the front, Row 1 and 2, left side. It's not dangerous to sit at the front.

You can travel alone on Greyhound, but both of you required valid photo ID. No ID, no ride.

CAN A 16 YEAR OLD TRAVEL INTERNATIONALLY ALONE?

I work as a check-in agent at the airport for international flights, and you are definitely getting wrong answers on here.

Yes you can fly alone and no you don't need to prove anyone will pick you up nor do you need proof of permission from your parents. As long as you are 14+ you can fly alone as an adult.

Check with your airline to see if they have any special rules, but legally you can and you will be treated as an adult.

Can I travel to Dubai alone as an 18 year old girl? I have already got my visa and confirmed return flight tickets with OTB.

Of course you can travel to Dubai as a 18 year old female. Nothing to worry about your travel, entry to Dubai or anything else. Hope you might be having someone your relative, friend, sibling who is already based in Dubai. If not still you wont face any problem by staying alone in a city which is safe and secure for all.

I'm 16. Can I travel alone in Dubai?

Yes, you can. Don’t worry about your safety, it's not New York City. Bonus tip, arrange for accommodation well in advance. If you’re using online reservation site such as Booking.com: The largest selection of hotels, homes, and vacation rentals be advised that most hotels will require to see a valid credit card upon checkin in order to verify your identity. If you don't have credit card and are planning to use someone else's then, look for hotels that allow third party credit card usage.

Can a 16 year old fly alone to Paris, France?

I assume you mean flying without an adult accompanying you, not in a plane ALL by yourself. If that is what you mean, then yes you can. I flew alone to Costa Rica when I was just 13. You have to have both parents sign some type of affidavit (we got it at the UPS store) that says you're allowed to be unaccompanied.
