Portuguese are White European Latin. Don't confuse the European White Latins like the Portuguese with the South Americans who use the name "Latin" as well..So Portuguese are Latin but not in the same way as Mexicans The original Latins are the European Latins who include the Portuguese, the Spaniards, the Italians, the Maltese, the French and the Romanians Because Spaniards and Portuguese conquered South-Central America they transported their language and culture in these areas in a way that people from these areas call themselves "Latin" as well...But in reality they have no relationship with the European Latins who are White
