What are the best dishes to serve with tater tots?

Tater tots are having a minute! Not just are individuals serving up delightful family-accommodating dishes highlighting the old-school tater tot, yet even eateries and bars are putting them on plates to keep their clients glad. The tater tot is anything but difficult to cook, delicious and the ideal fixing to showcase in a great goulash dish. Appreciate these seven tremendous top of the line top choices.

Are there any negative effects to eating a lot of tater tots?

Tater tots contain a lot of calories and practically no nutrition. A serving of tater tots is 9 pieces, which isn't much. A "ton" of tater tots can represent most of your calories for the day. That leaves little room for getting actual nutrients into your body: proteins, vitamins, minerals, etc. So you can easily end up suffering from a nutritional deficiency (scurvy, for example) or get fat by adding other foods to compensate. Pills are unlikely to solve the problem, especially in the missing proteins. When you're young, your body will compensate for just about any trash you throw in there, but you're building up health problems and bad habits for later.

Has anyone tried the Tater Tot diet?

For breakfast you eat 1 egg and 1 tater tot. For lunch you eat 2 apple slices and 2 tater tots. And for dinner you can eat as many tater tots as you want but nothing else. You do this for 60 days straight and you can lose up to 40 lbs. Has anyone tried this and if so does it work?

What is more unhealthy -- Tortilla chips or potato chips?

Indeed, both are made using ingredients of the same quality: lame, fast-food quality. But the source of the ingredients is what differs. From what I know, tortillas are made from corn and chips from potatoes. The corn has a slightly smaller amount of starch, hence is slightly less unhealthy. But you see, starch isn't the only thing that's bad about this type of snack. If it were the only one, probably the only damage that could be given was the risk of diabetes or getting fat (if eaten in conjunction with fats - the sauces that go with the chips). It seems that the spices that are being added are so sinthetical that the daily ingestion of chips can lead to pancreatical problems, liver overload, cholesterol rise and many others (besides obesity and diabetes).

What is the difference between potato wedges and french fries?

French fries are thin sliced and boiled. Potato wedges are usually roasted. For reference - Roasted potato wedges recipe. The way they are made by using that recipe makes them extremely delicious, healthy and they are gluten-free! There’s also a vegan option by simply using vegan mayo instead of regular mayo. This recipe makes it so that the wedges are perfectly crispy and crunchy on the outside while being soft on the inside. A balance that results in them being that much more delicious. You’ll need these ingredients for the roasted potato wedges:4 red potatoes, cut into wedgesFor Seasoning:2 tablespoons olive oil1/2 teaspoon salt1/2 teaspoon garlic powder1/2 teaspoon paprika1/2 teaspoon black pepperDip:2 tablespoons Ketchup1 teaspoon Sriracha1 1/2 tablespoons Mayonnaise (use vegan mayo for vegan version)And you can find the instructions here.

What does an absolutely perfect French fry taste like?

Regardless of shape or size, I prefer a crisp outside and fluffy inside. This requires a hot eating temperature.Great fries are a pleasure to eat texturally and best when the right amount of salt or other condiment to flavor them is used. They can be addictive to eat, capturing your senses, stimulating your tastebuds with a light natural sweetness of the potato, if the starch converts to sugar well, balanced with salt, both crispy and crunchy, and the fluffy inside that almost melts in your mouth. Use a tasty fat to fry in and you will add to that experience.Great fries can be difficult to make and keep well. They are something to enjoy in a brief moment, as the appealing texture changes before you can finish them all.The first hot, perfectly made fry that you serve and eat in each batch, will likely be the best.Because I like more fluffy inside, I am partial to crinkle cut, thicker cut fries, or steak fries, rather than shoestring. The same goes for tater tots, except that the inside tends to be slightly more waxy and less fluffy to protect the potato from breaking down due to the tiny cubes.Only crispy such as well fried darker shoestrings is usually not my thing, but sometimes it is nice for variety. The mealy texture from cooled fries is unappealing. Sometimes if I know the fries will be slightly cooled before I eat them, choosing less crisp fries to begin with can lead to the fries being less tough later due to steaming.Keep bags or any other serving containers of fries or other fried potato open at the top, to let steam escape.
