How do I stop new e-mails going to the spam folder instead of my inbox?

In Yahoo Classic:
You will need to have the addresses in your Contact list to prevent them from going to the Spam folder. To get them into your address book, click the Spam button to open them. For the ones you wish to keep in your address book, click the icon that looks like a rolodex with a plus sign in it. It's across and to the right of the senders name.

Set up your Spam Protection.
1. Click on the "Options", Mail Options link in the upper right of your yahoo mail page.
2. Click on "Spam Protection", fill out the form and click the "Save Changes" link.
Once you have this set up, each time you see spam or mail that you want to block, check the box next to it, go to the top of the email list and click the "Spam" button.

Note: Every message you report trains your Spam Guard filters to work better for you. The messages you select in this way will be deleted and reported as spam.
The senders of the messages will be added to your "Blocked Addresses" list.

PREVENT ACCESS TO YOUR ACCOUNT:
1. Change your password.
2. Clean your cache, delete history of visited websites and "Sign Out" of your account completely before leaving the computer. Click the "Sign Out" button.
If you leave it open, anyone can open and read your email. They can also go to the history function, or just hit the back button and get into your account.
Don't forget your ID and new password though. You will need it the next time you sign into your Yahoo account.

My incoming email are going to my spam folder instead of my inbox. what do i do?

Here is a partial list of this week's problems: can't access email account; can't open emails; can't send emails; emails going straight to Spam Folder; forward-reply-delete buttons missing or won't work; must enter password over and over; get a "Suspicious Activity" message; get a "Yahoo won't work with your browser" message; can't get Contact List to work; can't open or send attachments; can't play Pool; can't play Spades; can't update portfolio in Finance; can't get Notepad or Calendar to work; can't get Messenger to work; get weird error messages that don't explain anything (554,404,18,999). None of the normal "Help" tips work. Don't waste time clearing the cache, removing cookies, updating Java. Don't uninstall or install programs.
Only 2% of users have a problem. The rest are unaffected and don't understand what the fuss is all about.
Yahoo employees have told us 3 things. They are working on Email. They are working on Y!A. They have made the Security Question their key to stopping hackers and spammers.
There is a good chance that the problem you are experiencing will disappear in 2 days to 2 weeks, but we can't be sure. You have to go to help.yahoo.com so they can investigate.
Yahoo thought about offering a CURRENT PROBLEMS page. That page has not been created yet. Users must visit Y!A>Yahoo Products to see if that day's list of question includes their problem.
The Yahoo community usually shares their workarounds for the current problems. At this time, you can switch browsers or switch to Classic Mail....but those "fixes" don't work for everyone.

I am having problems getting email to go to my inbox instead of spam or trash?

For the SPAM ones, just OPEN them in the SPAM folder -- and click on NOT SPAM over them. This will move them to the INBOX and any future emails from that person will also go to the INBOX.

Emails don't go to the TRASH folder by themselves. Either you put them there, or there are FILTERS set up that are sending them there. You need to use the OPTIONS link (top right) to find the filters and either remove them or edit them.

Why is some sent mail going to spam sometimes instead of the inbox?

The most important think that you should do check if your emails SPF, DKIM, and DMARC records were properly set or not. (you can diagnose your domain here)Unfortunately, there is no 100%, foolproof, guaranteed way to stop someone from marking your email as spam. However, you can lessen the chances by careful collection of emails and staying up to date with how recipients are engaging with your emails. The first step is to review how your email addresses are collected. Did they sign up to receive emails from you from an online form. Did they sign up at an event? There needs to be some sort of intent to receive emails from you by the recipient. Proof of a recipient's intent lower the chances of them marking your email as spam and if you are questioned about your collection practices due to SPAM complaints or other deliverability issues, you can show that you had the recipients express permission.Next, when your email campaigns are running regularly, be sure to monitor and maintain the health of your email list. Understand what kind of emails recipients are reacting well to and take note of the ones that are not working. As long as you make sure that each recipient is receiving the type of content that they are looking for and find valuable you shouldn't need to worry about people marking your email as SPAM.I think you need some steps to follow, in order to not be marked as spammer. You need to have your list of emails double opt-in (that would be the best for you and your campaign reputation);Find a good ESP. You could look up MailChimp, Aweber, SendGrid and some others. In this way, you can see which one suits your needs better;Identify your target audience,so you will not send out emails with content not relevant for those customers; Segment your list.Keep it simple.Pay attention at what and how you say things in your emails, because you could trigger the spam filter with content, attachments, images or links.Keep monitoring your campaign. The last, but not the least important, is to verify your list of emails with an email validation.
