How can I convince my mom to let me have a YouTube channel?
I started a YouTube channel last Fall (2013) doing beauty videos. I never did anything inappropriate or gave out personal information since I know how much my mom is worried about my safety. After I reached nearly 50 followers, I wanted to partner with a company and decided to tell my mom that I had created a channel. She told me that I needed to delete the channel because she was worried that guys would do inappropriate things while watching my videos..... -_- I argued that it was out of my hands if someone did that but she said she didn't want to take any chances. I deleted my channel but I really miss doing videos and I've been told by multiple people that I am great at doing makeup and should start a channel. I just want to show people that they don't have to be an adult to wear makeup and make it look nice. I have lots of great tips and ideas for tutorials, but how can I convince my mom to let me start a new channel?! My parents are getting divorced and we had to move. I started YouTube before we moved and so whenever I think about making videos or even doing my makeup, it brings back good memories of our old house. It honestly was therapeutic for me to make videos because it allowed me to escape the chaos of everyday life and just do something simple, but my mom doesn't understand that. This isn't a situation where she is worried about someone finding me and kidnapping me or whatever. She is worried about something that is out of our control if it were to happen, and there is a very small chance of it happening at all. What kind of guy watches beauty videos, much less does "inappropriate things" while watching them?! She also said that she doesn't want me becoming famous, and I said that isn't why I was making the videos, and she said there was no other reason I was doing it. Is there any way that I can convince her to let me create a new channel? I have respected her decision and haven't created a new channel because I know if she found out, I would lose her trust and probably be grounded forever, but I am really starting to miss YouTube. I just ordered a new eyeshadow palette and really want to create some looks with it and do some tutorials but I can't since I don't have a channel. Please help!

Depending on your age. She is probably worried about people much older watching you or some people being mean like they always are on the internet. I would let her watch every video before you uploaded it and ask her opinion on different things about the channel to keep her involved so she feels like you are safe. Tell her to give you a chance to make a video then show her, if she likes it ask to post it.
How to convince my parents to let me show my face on Youtube?
Just keep making them without your face until she lets you. If you have ideas that you cant do without showing your face just write them down for later. What is the rush? Make it work for you instead of fighting it. Besides if you can make a funny video without showing your face and without ticking off your parents then all the better. Show your mom that you can accept her boundaries and be responsible and respectful of her wishes and more often the parent will accept that you are more responsible than they thought and adjust accordingly. Show her you are grown up enough to accept things you don't like and she might become a whole lot more flexible and treat you more like the adult you want her to think of you as. Also - it really really might not seem like a good thing now- but you should really try to appreciate the fact that she cares enough to make rules like this. She is not doing it just to be mean, or to try to limit you. It really is sadly way to common for parents to simply not care enough to act like this. Tell her you understand why she dosen't want you to do it, and that you will just make them in a way that she thinks is ok until she decides that you can do them otherwise. It will really pay off in more ways that one.

Talk about popularity... and how famous she can be XP... just kidding... beg her on your knees for a reason... Or if she still sais no... i consider you to find a good friend of yours... that way you can make some sort of webshow that relates to icarly! you can go to www.icarly.com if you dont know what it is!!! I also reccomend you to try to convince her to tell you the reason... this might be cause shes not into this stuff... or she has other reasons and doesnt want to do it cause she might find it humilliating!!! Why not ask them to read the YT guidelines so they can see that YT is well monitored. However, if you are under 13-years-old then they have a legit issue because YouTube's guidelines specify 13 or older. Ultimately, your parents are responsible for your welfare, which puts them in charge. If they insist on you deleting your account, then you should honor their request. It's not always about exposing your face or revealing your telephone number either. Many people are not prepared to handle the severe criticism that YT haters can dish out, especially young people. They get caught up in trying to combat haters and might not be able to cope with it and soon find themselves way over their heads. Whether you agree or not, your parents are acting in your best interest. You should NOT assume that you are smarter or wiser than they are. Afterall, if you were, then you wouldn't be asking for help to convince them that you are right about YT.

okay so im super mad right now. i feel like punching someone because i really like to make videos and things because its fun. its like a hobby of mine and i want to share it with others. My parents dont approve of it though, they think that a pervert could be watching it. THERES PERVS EVERYWHERE. what the...? i edited the video to make it look really cool and stuff and now... it goes nowhere and 2 hours of editing is in the recycle bin. how can i convince my parents to let me express myself?? I really want to upload the one I've been working on but I know I will get in trouble. and it has to be a good argument because my parents aren't known to change their minds that easily.

Parents know best...most of the timeIn this case its time to educate your parents they will like to see that you are learning something and not using it for any reasons they are against. This all depends upon what you are using it for? Compare it to Facebook a platform they may be aware of and have more knowledge in.Im not sure on your age but if you are looking to become successful on YouTube then my advice is to go onto YouTube itself and search channels for people of your age and look for someone that is doing really well and show your parents that its used in a wide variety of ways that are not so odd.Maybe get your parents involved in some of the videos? They could actually become quite fond of it when they see they are getting views.
