What is good replacement motherboard for a HP Pavillion a6110n PC?
It's a Windows Vista.I'm heading to Best Buy (Geek Squad) or Fry's Electronics. Before I go, here was the problem with the desktop. The problem was that every time I log in, and access start, pictures, internet, etc. the monitor would freeze and become pixelated. I thought it would be the video card or RAM drive that could've been overheated but when I cleaned the desktop from dust and all. It looks like everything was integrated with the motherboard. Is there any other way to fix this besides replacing the motherboard? If not, what would be a good replacement for the mb? As I said above I'm heading to BB or Fry's, do you know which one is great replacement? Much help would be appreciated, thank you.
Laptop Key Replacement?
I have a Windows Vista Satellite A305, and recently my "E" key popped off, and the hinge broke ... just today the rubber cap came off too but I fixed that ... I need to buy a new key and hinge to properly install it, but I don't want to buy online. Anybody know any stores that sell single keys in the US ? Or maybe any websites that also take Check instead of credit card ? Thanks
Is there an alternative to Windows Sync Center?
Is there any software out there that can synch a mobile device, such as a smart phone, with either Outlook or any other PIM software? I have seen apps that will synch to Palm Desktop and such, but they all leverage Microsoft's Mobile Sync, not replace it. This is specific to Windows 7, so the old ActiveSync on Win XP and earlier is not an option (so please don't answer with that).
Besides for replacing windows,what's the best, easiest&cheapest way to insulate/stop up drafts on bad windows?
Staple heavy mil plastic around the outside or inside. Stuff strips of rags of strips of foam rubber or weather stripping in the cracks. You can buy caulk or that messy yellow foamy canned insulation stuff. If you are going to replace the windows anytime soon, go with the plastic or rag solution. Heavy drapes will help too. Good luck.
