German Translators: Anyone know a good English through German Translators?

There are very helpful dictionaries for English-German, most notably http://dict.leo.org

Online translators for full sentences are complete crap and will only confuse you and keep you from learning. If you want to check the quality of an online translator, translate a paragraph from English to German and then translate the result back to English with the same online translator. You will always receive crap results. Never use online translators for business or school purposes - you will just make a fool of yourself.

Most, if not all, online translators are going to be inaccurate to some degree because you just can't match an actual person translating something for you. Nevertheless, I have always found this site useful but it might be good to double-check something in a dictionary:

Well, It depend what language you're trying to translate.

There you have some... But still, Online translators haven't still developed a "grammar" intelligence. They will probably translate in a literal sense, and what's more not respecting grammar laws.
So if you actually want to make a good translation you should know a little bit if that language grammar, because Computational Linguistics haven't still advanced that much, not as for us to have a good translation: from both points of view, literal and metaphoric, grammar and meaning.

DON'T ever use an online free translating machine for Latin (or German, or any of the slavonic languages). They can't cope with languages which have complex syntax and many inflexions.

If you don't know the syntax and grammar of your target language you might not even realize what ridiculous gibberish you end up with.

If you do have a basic knowledge of Latin grammar http://lysy2.archives.nd.edu/cgi-bin/words.exe can help you look up words.
It wont do anything about your syntax, but it will give you an analysis of the form of the Latin word.

No translator in the world can translate complex grammar like a native speaker can. Your best bet is to master the grammar, and use a dictionary. For simple sentences, Google Translate usually works, but since it's user-submitted, there could also be some errors.
