Ap Cancellation Collegeboard . Help

What are the consequences to cheating on collegeboard ap test?

It really depends on how much further the school or the adults involved in this decides to proceed with this case. If they go all the way, his reputation is pretty much ruined for a very long time and it will make things very very difficult for him. Most likely, they will lean on not being overly punitive because... everyone is human after all and no one wants to ruin anyone's life for no reason. Most likely, he will have to go in for some sort of interrogation or interview about this before they make a decision. He has to make sure that he's honest, mature, and demonstrate enough remorse and apology for what happened. If he walks in there with a bad attitude, It might motivate them to be harsh. The best thing right now for him is to try to earn their sympathy.

AP Test Cancellation / Refund? Urgent!!?

I signed up for the AP Spanish Language exam (administered this Tuesday), and I'm having second thoughts about taking it. First of all, I'm taking 6 other AP tests as well as one for IB Spanish (which I'm actually enrolled in, not AP Spanish) so I don't have all that much time to devote to studying Spanish specifically, and secondly, I feel as though I didn't receive enough in-class instruction -- I skipped third year Spanish, and this year haven't had any exams or essays to do in class.

The CollegeBoard website is extremely convoluted, so I just wanted some extra input:

If I do decide to not take the exam, should I contact the CollegeBoard or my school to receive at least a partial refund?

And if this is not available and I end up taking the test (and then canceling my score), can I cancel the score at any time, or just before their June 15th deadline?

Should the College Board remove time limits for AP exams?

No, I do not think it should remove the time limits. In part, the exam scores earn individuals credit for college, and college examinations use time limits, so it fits the model. In addition, the College Board meets its requirements under the Americans with Disabilities Act by making accommodations on the test available, including large print formats or extra time (150% of standard, 200% of standard), or in some cases, untimed. However, qualifying for accommodations requires prior approval and the submission of documentation that justifies the adjustments. One source of frustration I encountered was that, in some cases, a student received accommodations on a daily basis but did not qualify for those same accommodations from the College Board. [The school accepted a diagnosis of ADHD from a pediatrician who performed no testing, but the College Board required the use of norm referenced testing to justify that diagnosis, and the accommodations hte student sought. The students and parents were quite upset, but I had to explain the justification, and also that in a college setting the same (or similar) documentation would be required before the student would receive services from the college or university.]

If AP scores come out in early July and the cancellation date is before June 15th, does that mean it is impossible to see your score and then delete it? What is the archive system and how does that work?

Please read the AP cancellation policy here:https://apcentral.collegeboard.o...Canceling your AP Exam score permanently deletes it—it cannot be reinstated at a later time. Scores may be canceled at any time. However, for scores not to be sent to the college indicated on your AP answer sheet, AP Services must receive your request by June 15 of the year you took the AP Exam. Once you request a cancellation, the score will never be available to you, and it will never be listed on any future score reports. (Archived scores cannot be canceled.)It is possible to see your score and then delete it. The June 15 deadline only applies to the college for which you ordered a free score report. However, you need to keep in mind that many high schools add AP exam results to students’ academic records and, therefore, AP exam scores can be included in high school transcripts. (SAT and ACT scores too.) So, when you cancel an AP exam score, make sure that it doesn’t appear in your school transcript.

How does getting a bad AP exam score affect my college application?

I agree with what Wasila had to say on this question. Because of Score Choice, you are not compelled to send the score. Very elite schools prefer to see all scores but don’t demand it.Some teachers will give an automatic “A” to a student who gets a 5 in the AP exam. Check to see if your teacher has any policies like this in place. Otherwise, what you did in the class is what will impact your GPA. AP scores generally do not have any impact on GPA.Unless you are a senior, you do have the option of retaking the exam, if you had hopes of using a 4 or 5 to test out of a college level class, just FYI.

Is it possible to pay college board to decrease your AP scores?

Why would you want to decrease your scores? That makes no sense. The only way a score can be changed is if you request the College Board to regrade the multiple choice section of an exam. The score can go up, down, or most likely, stay the same. You can also request the ACT and SAT to rescore those exams, with the same possible results as the AP Exams. But again, why would you want a lower score? Why is this even a question?A2A

Should I cancel my AP exam score?

From www.collegeboard.com:

"Grade cancellation deletes an AP Exam grade permanently from your records. Grades may be canceled at any time. However, for grades not to appear on the current year's grade report, AP services must receive a signed letter requesting cancellation by June 15. While there is no fee for this service, your exam fee is not refunded. The grade report that you and your school receive will indicate that the grade has been canceled."

In my opinion, I would not cancel. I would take the test and see what you get. If you get high enough to get college credit, then congratulations. If not, you only wasted the registration fee and no reprocutions will occur. Since APs are optional, most colleges will not use them against you or recind their offer of admission.

If I cancel my AP exam score, will it affect my average for the AP Scholar Awards?

You cannot cancel your scores once you receive them, you can only withhold them from colleges (info on that here: http://professionals.collegeboard.com/te... ) But the College Board still knows your scores and factors them in for their awards.
