Appropriate Attire For Interview

What is appropriate attire to wear to an interview at a winery?

It depends on the winery but most tasting room attendants dress professionally. For the interview at least I suggest wearing a blouse that is full button down, a knee length skirt, pantyhose and nice high pumps. Better to be overdressed than under dressed for the interview. Also, it's important to have nice looking nails too. I think once you have the job you'd wear a blouse, bootcut dress pants and flats. Hope this helps.

Appropriate attire for a job interview?

For the first interview, you are correct: better to overdress than underdress. Generally speaking, it is always nice to go with something professional, not flashy or overly colorful. The top should be maybe French blue, white, grey, cream, perhaps light pink at the most, the make-up modest with barely there shades of all colors, nothing overstated, and the jewelry should compliment, not overshadow, the outfit. That means no dangly earrings (although *small* hoops are acceptable) and necklaces that don't look like they came hot off of a rap video set. If you are asked for a second interview, I suggest wearing black slacks (since the job itself is dressed down attire) and black flats with a smart top.

The second interview is usually unnecessary and it is possible to dress for that how you would dress if you worked at the place. It's always best to dress as if you already had the job. It shows professionalism, that you are aware of your surroundings and have done enough research to know what they expect from an employee.

As a side note, regardless of age, I think it's tactless to show up to an interview looking like you just walked out of the classroom. Dressing nicely and professionally shows respect for yourself and your prospective employer.

Irrespective of the dress, write a thank you note and mail it the same day you had the interview, AFTER the interview. Use the interviewer(s)' name and express interest without being a brown noser. It's an understated but very appreciated thing. It will most surely get you a second glance if they passed over you already. Also, perfect the "perfect" handshake: firm, but not bone-crushing, and not "cold fish", where you just limply place your hand in someone else's. This shows confidence. Look them straight in the eyes.

That's all I have. I hope it helps! Good luck!

What is appropriate attire for an early stage interview with a company I know is informal?

In general, it's always good to dress one level "higher" than what you would be wearing on a daily basis. For example, if you would typically go to working jeans and a polo shirt, wear a pair of nice slacks and a button down shirt. If you wear dockers and a shirt, upgrade the look by wearing a blazer.Keep in mind, overdressing rarely will hurt you in an interview unless the interviewer tells you explicitly to come "comfortable" (e.g. Google recruiters tell their candidates to come in casually; I would imagine that other "contemporary" companies would do the same like Apple, Facebook, etc.)On the other hand, don't go in as a total slob unless you are perceived as a known commodity in your market and they already know what to expect from you. In cases like that, interviews are often formalities anyways, so it really doesn't matter what you look like for the most part (e.g. don't come in with a runny nose, smelling like alcohol, etc.).Good luck!

What is the appropriate attire to wear for a job interview in Phoenix or Tucson?

A2A. As I recall, it is both hot and dry in Arizona and most likely in Phoenix and Tucson. I also recall that casual wear is often worn in business settings. The weather is one factor, although air conditioning tends to mitigate the effect of hot weather. And sometimes the AC is so cold that you should be sure to wear a long sleeve shirt.I suggest selecting your clothes according to the nature of the job and the style of the company. If you have any questions, check with the company. When in doubt and you cannot get an answer from the company, dress conservatively and slightly on the dressy side. I am not suggesting, if you are a man, that you wear a three-piece suit. But you can never go wrong if you wear a navy blazer or similar sport jacket, dress slacks, white dress shirt and tie. Don’t wear a string tie and western hat, because you have heard some people in Arizona dress this way (lol).Around 1985 I recall a candidate coming in for a division director position wearing a polyester sport jacket with wide lapels, a pair of white shoes (loafers) and a big thick white belt. In addition to being inappropriate for the conservative style of my company and the position, the candidate was about 10–12 years out of date (lol). This suggests another factor; be reasonably up to date.

What's appropriate job interview attire for a web design job at a university?

In my area, design and tech firms are generally casual attire kinds of places (I can wear slacks and a nice sweater or shirt and be fine for an interview). However, I'm interviewing at a local university for a position there. I'm in my mid-20s, so I don't want to look too stuffy or pretentious. I should add that I'm female, but don't dress particularly feminine, so a skirt and blazer is out of the question. I only own 1 suit, and it's in the main color of the university, so I'm reluctant to wear it. Basically, should I be wearing a suit, slacks and a jacket, or just slacks and a business-casual shirt? Any help is appreciated.

Is it appropriate to wear a dress to a job interview?

YES, some common dresses can be worn as “business attire” for any job interview nowadays! But sometimes, it'll depends on what type of jobs that you'll require to wear, as for the recruiter's dress code, their company's policies & expectations as well. Some big, well-known or corporate companies will strictly pay more specific attentions on your own personal attire & self grooming that will strongly represents their company's image & respects.Women really should pair up their dresses with a blazer plus a pair of pantyhose & high heels for a perfect job interview. Their own dresses should be knee-length or below, without any cleavage, looks professionalism, not too sexy & more tasteful in colours & designs.“PICK THE RIGHT CHOICE (ABOVE) ON WHAT TO WEAR FOR A JOB INTERVIEW!”

Whats the appropriate attire for an interview for a teller position at chase bank?

You should use the Chase uniform as a guideline to selecting your clothing, which is a business suit for both men and women. Women also have the option of sweater vests and sweater sets, but this wouldn't be appropriate for an interview.

What I would wear:
Men: Black suit with a light blue shirt and a conservative tie
Women: Black suit with a light blue shirt

Since you don't want to wear *exactly* what they wear, avoid the french blue!

(Even though tellers usually wear a more casual uniform, the person interviewing you won't be a teller.)

What's appropriate attire to wear to a Rite Aid interview?

Good Evening Ashley A.
I am know as LadyEtiquetteNY, an Image Consultant who works in the Metro New York Area. In regards to your Rite Aid intreview question, my suggestion to you is to wear proper attire. If you only have black jeans, wear an appropriate blouse and if you have a blazer wear it in a professional manner. Don't forget to remove your extra jewelry and no nose rings or other items that are not necessary. As for your feet, my suggestion is no flip flops or sneakers. If you only have the black heels, wear the black pants and make sure your blouse balances the outfit and fits properly. Keep in mind, when you start your job interview in a professional manner, your (New) boss will treat you as a professional. This will carry with you all through your career. Remember, you are the best marketing tool you have and First Impressions Count and Last a Life Time.
Best of luck to you and remember to walk with confidence, smile and look the interviewer in the eye. Let me know how the interview goes and the end results. I would really like to hear from you. Good Luck for LadyEtiquetteNY
