Is a jeep wrangler good and safe for a teenager?

I have owned a CJ or Wrangler all my life and never rolled one,you just have to show some responsibility while driving.I like the guy that called the parents stupid for fixing their sons Wrangler and then he tipped it over again, what about the son,he was the stupid one.

How is a jeep cherokee for a teenagers first car?

not very good.

Is a 1999 Jeep Cherokee a good first car?

In my opinion, it COULD be a good first car, depending on your personal situation. It will be a gas hog compared to say a Honda Civic, and it will likely need more repairs than a similar Toyota vehicle. Parts will cost more than they do for a Ford or Chevy, etc, etc, etc.It won’t be as safe as a later model vehicle with more up to date safety features. And any vehicle old enough to vote is apt to need some repairs, maybe a lot of repairs, even if it has low miles and has been very well cared for.Having said all this, if the price is right, and it’s in good condition, and it suits your needs, it’s not a bad choice as a first car.If you really need four wheel drive and good ground clearance because you live where the roads are often covered with snow and ice, and you need the large interior to haul around your friends and your stuff, this makes it a better choice than a typical sedan. You can also put on a trailer hitch and you can pull a fair sized boat, camper, or utility trailer with it, which means it can be almost as good as a truck if you do a lot of towing or hauling.

What is a good first car for a teenage car enthusiast?

I live in a rather affluent area of south Orange County, CA. The cars teen car enthusiasts tend to prefer (and all have huge aftermarket support):WRX 5-door:AWD for the once or twice it rains in So Cal per year and the rest of the drivers lose their heads. Decent cargo hold in the hatch, long roof for snow/surf boards. Decent MPGs. However, if you’re a male young adult and own one of these, apparently you must have to sign a contract that states that you will drive like a total douche at all times. If I ever saw a teenager driving an WRX at a normal pace I’d probably have a stroke.Staying with Subaru, the Subaru BRZ/Toyota 86:Not nearly as practical or fast as the WRX, but for an enthusiast a really nice handling “purist” car. Well-balanced, sharp handling, light and tossable. What I’d have if I were 20 again- The VW GTI:A little more of a grown up option. Not quite as knife-sharp as the WRX or BRZ, but you can keep it for a while and not look like a dork pulling it into the office parking lot in a few years once you have your mid-level management job.The last car I seem to see a lot of teens driving, but completely different- Wranglers:Even if you don’t drive off road, you’ll look like the fun outdoorsy type. Nevermind the horrendous NVH issues and crappy mileage, you’ll look adventurous!I know all of these are pricey compared to what the typical teen can afford, but each model (except the BRZ/86) has been around a long time and there are a lot of used examples available. All can be had with a manual transmission as well.Good luck!

Jeep Wrangler a good first car for a safe, great teen driver?

I've had my TJ Wrangler for 7 months now and I can't possibly understand what kind of idiot manages to roll them. I've put just over 20,000 miles on my baby in the 7 months that we've been together and I regularly take turns at 30+ mph without the tires leaving the ground. It is not a lifted Wrangler but does have 31" tires so it's just slightly taller than stock. My confidence in the safety of the Wrangler was proven to me on Friday when I was driving home on the interstate in light rainfall. I took an exit ramp and slowed down accordingly for the wet road, however when I accelerated halfway through the turn the rear tires lost traction and I began drifting sideways very rapidly. Suddenly the tires caught a rough patch of pavement and the vehicle stopped sliding sideways immediately. There was enough sideways force to slam me into the drivers door and leave a hefty bruise on my shoulder.. but guess what.. the Jeep stayed firmly planted, all fours on the ground. I love my Wrangler to death and can't see myself buying any other vehicle as long as I live!

The only way I can see someone rolling a Wrangler if they are driving like a normal car is if the sway-bar is disconnected. Exactly how far over the legal alcohol limit were all those people who rolled their Wranglers?

Is a Jeep Liberty a good first car?

Owner of a Liberty Limited (loaded). It is comfortable, but small. This is not a Cherokee.
The largest engine is the 3.7L V6 and it pulls it along well. It is capable in 4WD and will handle snow. Seat heaters are great. The privacy screen in the cargo area works as do the cargo nets (supplied).
Now the down side. You will NEVER see gas mileage above the teens. Even on long expressway trips average was only 19. There were several shortcuts made in construction one of the most aggravating being the plastic electric window brackets and these will all end up having to be replaced. Expect $250/window unless you do it yourself ($400 if the dealer does it). The placement of the electric window controls is awkward. The fold down rear seats never lay flat.

Are jeep wranglers good teen cars?

Listen to your mom. She's absolutely right, I had one, it rolled over in the summer of last year and now I'm parlayed from the waist down. I wanted one "cuz I thought I'd be cool.

Is the new Jeep Compass a safe car for a new teenage driver?

OK, obviously, you are not worried about money, since you are talking about buying a new car, so saying used is a waste of time.

Your concern is safety, and compass has full complement of airbags, much better handling thanks to computer advancements than ten year old sedans, and is hard to flip over, it ain't that tall.

and good look to whoever want's to speed, if there's one issue is that with the CVT, it is underpowered, it can get high speeds, but it takes a while to get there.
