Are Kent State Or Akron Good Universities

Which University is better? Kent State or Akron University?

(this is from my old high school so this may vary)

Kent State:
5 applied 5 admitted 0 enrolled
GPA: 2.9
ACT: 23
SAT (out of 2400): 1345

Akron:
5 applied 2 admitted 1 enrolled
GPA: 3.1
ACT: 25
SAT (out of 2400): 1570

Kent State University or University of Akron?

I go to U of A, so a little biased. But I will tell you that Kent is a more traditional campus with more on campus eating facilities and probably a more diverse on-campus social life...having said that, I think Akron is really unique in that it's an urban campus, but there is really a good feeling of safety when you're actually on campus. The campus life in U of A is probably not as good as Kent, but UAkron makes up for that by being right next to downtown Akron. Academically, I would look at your major and which school is better in that regard. Akron has also done quite a bit in the past few years to improve their campus appearance and academic standards. I'm not sure about Kent, but they really weren't too bad to begin with. I assume, however, that uakron will continue to improve as they are building quite a bit of new dorms and are making a new education school. Akron is D-1 for sports, but the only sport that really matters to people here is soccer (national champs!)...i guess rifle, and running sports, and maybe a few others, but football really isn't too big, whereas it probably is a big deal at Kent.

So, I think both campuses are good, Kent is definitely more traditional if that's what you want. Akron is really becoming a true university now too tho, it's no longer just for commuters, and the classes are good. The academics are both fairly equal but I'm pretty sure Akron is bigger on the science and engineering side of things. Kent seems more liberal arts (all-around) oriented but i'm not sure. Good luck on your decision!

University of Akron vs. Ohio University?

For those of you that are familiar with the schools, which of the two would you prefer Akron U or OU (NOT Ohio State)? I am contemplating on attending either of these schools, and I know that it really depends on what I choose to pursue as a major. However, I would really like to get some feedback? Thank you.

Kent State U. or Youngstown State University?

I would personally choose Youngstown University over Kent State, Kent is kind of behind on the times in terms of education and available technology. But if you're looking for a decent well rounded college in Ohio, I would also check Miami University (Oxford Campus) and University of Toledo. (Maybe Ohio State University if you want a big college) Good luck!

What is the University of Akron like?

if your from ohio, can you compare it to other colleges around here? is it more student centered? is there a mall that the campus kind of evolves around or are there roads all through the campus? would you consider it a commuter school? etc

WHAT IS SORORITY LIFE LIKE AT THE OHIO STATE UNIVERSITY?

Okay, so I'm from Ohio, and I am extremely interested in attending OSU for college. I know it's a bit early to be picking a college, considering I'm only a junior in high school, but I want to be well informed before I begin applying places. I have narrowed my choices down to The Ohio State University, and New York University because the research I've done shows that these two schools have impressive journalism programs.
Anyways, that's kinda off subject. Ha ha sorry! But my main question is, what is the overall atmosphere of the OSU campus? Also, I am very interested in joining a sorority. If you have been in a sorority at OSU, what are your opinions on them? I've researched sororities at OSU, and the ones I like are:
Alpha Chi Omega
Alpha Gamma Delta
Alpha Phi
Delta Delta Delta
Delta Gamma
Delta Zeta
Kappa Alpha Theta
Pi Beta Phi
Kappa Delta
