Are My Dog Talking To Another Dog

Why is my female dog always trying to hump my other female dog?

There is probably an association with dominance, but if there is it’s not straightforward. For example, we have owned 9 dogs, 2 males and 7 females. Most of the 7 never ever humped, and the only bitch (female) addicted to humping was one of the most submissive we’ve owned. She simply got the urge to do it.She mainly devoted herself to my wife’s leg, but over the years I saw her hump several other dogs. Most of them must have been dominant with respect to her, if there was any difference in status; but some still tolerated it, for a short while at least. Every dog is an individual, and interactions between them are complex; keep observing and talking to other dog owners.Dogs are fascinating, and after all these years they still surprise me, regularly. If you look at my answers from a month ago you’ll see one about my dog picking blackberries from a bush and eating them; I’d never seen that before.

Do dogs actually talk to each other?

Not intelligently. They do not have dog words, but they do have forms of communication. Some animals, such as dolphins and monkeys, have certain frequency calls that mean something. For example, a high pitched monkey call means there is a predator nearby, three calls of a certain pitch means food, and so on. This is for a breed of Amazonian monkeys specifically, but many other animals, particularly mammals, have calls that represent certain things. For dogs the bark signifies that someone is intruding on your property or the dog is showing his strength to an enemy. This is the case with your dog. They are barking back and forth to see who is the bigger dog. I hope this answers you question.

I think I can hear my dog talking to me.?

I'm not a psychologist, but it seems to me that you should consider talking with one. The first step is to recognize that you're probably not actually hearing your dog, even if for no reason other than the improbability that your dog speaks English. It is much more likely (based on every scientifically documented instance in the past) that the responses are created by your own mind.

As long as you remain in control, and it continues to be non-hostile, I would say that it is up to you whether you would like to visit a psychologist and perhaps try to stop to "conversations." It's your head, after all.

If you continue to think it is real, you should find a research psychologist at once and put it to a rigorous double-blind test, because you could re-write a good chunk of physics and psychology in one go. That would be the coolest thing ever, and you'd be famous.

My dog killed another dog...?

I read every word. What I got out of this is a small breed dog dug into your yard proceeded to create havoc and your dog killed it.

Why should your dog be isolated? Why should your dog be euthanized? Why does she need to a specialist?

She killed a dog that invaded her territory. She did not attack a child or any human for that manner.

Dog aggression and human aggression are two COMPLETELY DIFFERENT THINGS. There is no relation between the two. NONE.

Your ignorant neighbors need to keep their stupid mouths shut because they don't have a clue what the heck they are talking about.

There is NOTHING wrong with your dog. NOTHING. She was protecting herself in her own yard from another dog who was attacking her.

What is the problem?

Your dog did no wrong and should not be treated any different than before.

EDIT to your additonal information: You gave the dog away 3 times. It is kept outside. I have a big problem with that. You also said it is going to be 'aggravating' to explain yourself all the time. At this point I would suggest contacting a breed specific rescue. The dog should not be kept outside. Your dog needs exercise and training. No, I don't think it is 'meant to be'. For the better of the dog contact a rescue.

Is it too soon to get another dog after mine died?

My dog passed away a little over a month ago. I've accepted his death but I really miss having him around the house. My mom is already talking about getting another dog/puppy. I definitely want another dog and I would love to have a dog to walk again now that I can be outside alot since it's summer. We're also thinking about a puppy so we'd need the summer to train it. But 1 month doesn't seem like enough time. The idea of another dog sounds great but I'm not sure if it's too soon and I'd have strange feelings if we rush into this. Plus, everyone I know has waited at least a year before getting another dog and they'd think we didnt care about our dog who just passed. Anyone been through this? What was your experience?

Do you think dogs know another dogs gender?

Absolutely..Yes they do.
Male dogs and female dogs give off a different odour which a dog can pick up on from quite a distance away.
When you consider that a male dog can scent an "on heat" female from well over a mile away it gives you some indication of how powerful a dogs sense of smell is.
An entire male gives off a different smell than a castrated one.
My entire male will ignore a castrated male but gets all macho and postures when he senses another entire male.
