Are My Track Times Decent 800m / 1600m

How much does height affect your time in track events such as 400m 800m 1600m and 3200m and a 5k?!?!?!?!?!?!?!

ive been wondering this for a while because I have allways been the short guy in 6th grade i was 4'6'' and my best mile was a 5:52 i think...however now 5 year later im 5'6'' I can run a 4:50 mile.In the last 5 years I never had a big groth spurt ive grown about 2.4 inches every year, so my question is if i keep growing 2 inches every year how strongly will it effect my track results.... im really trying to figure this out because one of teachers said that stride length is so important and that if I keep growing I should get allot better. so here are my times
200m like 24.5-26 my coach timed me during sprint drills
400m 54.9 did it twice
800m 2:06.5 my main race (I really want to improve to 2 flat)
1600m 4:50
3200m- 11:00
5k- 17:40 ill never do that race again
so I have two more years in highschool and again im just looking for some advice and imput or just some guesses to what I can improve to.

thank you in advance and sorry for long question

Sophomore track 1600m times good?

I run cross country and have for the past 5 yrs and it's my second year of track the outdoor season has just begun and I run a 5:42 mile ;it's my main event is that good for a sophomore? Also is it possible to get a 5:25 by the end of the season?

Decent time for 800m and 1500/1600m (high school level)?

The answer really varies by region and high school size, and what you mean by "decent". If you are in a big school in a running rich area, you are going to have to fly (1:55 800m, sub 4:15 1600) to get noticed and compete for win at the varsity level. If you go to a small school that is not in a big running area, you can probably make varsity running 2:30 and 6:00.

However, no matter where you are, if you are willing to do the work and try hard, every team will gladly take you on. Even if you never race varsity, they will help you do the best you can do.

If you are really concerned about times, just go ask the coach or a classmate who is on the team. They will have a much better idea.

Average freshman girls track times?

Normally most track teams don't have a "try-out" for the team, you are simply placed on jv when you run or varisty.

Running a 400m in 80-90 seconds is not very good, considering the certain level of high school athletes. It also depends what division you are in. My high school is a division one school and 80-90 seconds would make you run jv for the 400m.

I cannot speak for the 800m and the Mile but I'm sure if you ran the mile sub-6 minutes that would be pretty good, so base it off that.

So basically 400m - 70-75 seconds (as a starting out)
200m - 31 seconds
100m 14.5 seconds

Average high school sophmore track times?

I don't know much about sprinting but for the 1600 I would say a little under 5 min. (my p.r. was 4:39) about 2:10 for the 800 about 55 for the 400. And I'm not sure about the 200/100. If you don't have these times don;t be discouraged though, just keep practicing and working hard.

Good 1000m time for high school track?

I would think 2.30 for 800 m, 3.15 for 1000 and under 6 for 1600 would be fine times.

800m, 1600m, and 3200m times. What are yours? Also, what's my best event?

I don't want don't want to discourage you, but you gotta take a lots of time off your 800 for next year. The 1600 is definitely not too bad for Junior High, try to push it under 6.00 and you'd be great!
I would just choose the one you are most comfortable with, what you are most confident with and especially in shape for.
Also try to keep up with faster teammates and see where their strength is.

What are good times for a 1600m, 3200m, and 5k to run division 1 in college?

I'm a junior in high school and I want to run track in college. Right now is the winter track season and I had a stress fracture for most of the season. My second race back I ran a 10:02 in the 3200m. My pr in the 1600m is 4:40 and 5k a 17:04. I wanna run in the 9:40s and in the 4:20s by the end of spring. What should be times I should be looking to hit during my senior year to run division 1?
