Are Plastic Tubs E.g Rubbermaid Ok For Ball Pythons

Could i keep a ball python in a rubbermaid plastic container?

You can and believe it or not bins/tubs are the preferred way to keep ball pythons, it makes keeping in humidity a breeze and heating o so easy. The aquarium screen tops tank, keep little to no humidity in at all so basically it is nearly impossible with a ordinary screen top. Make sure you stay away from heat rocks they cannot be hooked to thermostat thus are able to reach there maximum heat level (which is hot) and can burn your ball python causing serious and potentially fatal burns if not treated. The only time a heat rock should ever be used is if you cut off the wire and use it as a basking rock lol,

Just get a soldering iron and solder holes into the sides and then get your under tank heater and put it on the bottom and connect it to your thermostat, i am pretty sure since your thinking of getting a ball python you have read care sheets and possibly a few books so you should know the proper substrates and temp measuring tools but i will still point you in the direction of a great care sheet,

Also try to see if you can find a sterlite tub (they have locking lids) 6-12qts if you have a hatchling and if you have a juvi or a full grown male get a 15q- 28qt and a full grown female requires a 41quart tub.

Mostly all snake breeders and experienced snake owners use them, good luck!

When getting a baby ball python as pet I want to buy a rubbermaid container for it?

When getting a baby ball python as pet I want to buy a rubbermaid container for it cause it's more affordable and easy to handle now when I purchase the rubbermaid should I poke holes on the lid and the container or just the container or both? And where should I place the heat pad inside the bin or outside? And will all this be good enough to keep my ball python warm enough without the use of a head lamp? And what size container would you recommend for me? If you can post any links up thank you first time owning and purchasing my first Baby ball python please leave more advise for me if possible on caring and more info on how to keep the python warm in a rubbermaid container instead of a tank. Thank you
