Are Stress Cards For Real

Army stress cards?

It's an urban legend, with its roots actually in the Navy, not the Army.

--------
h4h1, I'm guessing you didn't read the link... they talk about the card you mentioned and how its use has been exaggerated into the urban legend. And as I said, it was the Navy, not the Army :)

Marines or Army have stress cards???

my friend's boyfriend is in the Army. I heard that the Army has stress cards and whatnot for when they cant take it anymore. She told me that the Marines have stress cards and not the Army? do either of them have stress cards, or both. (and by the way, im not bashing one or the other, i just want to know)

Stress cards at army boot camp?

Ok so im just curious, cause i heard this so many times in the past few months. Is it true that they have stress cards at army boot camp. A card tht you pull out nd the drill seargant has to leave you alone. And the other thing i heard is that they allow you to have your cell phones at boot camp as well. Sounds rediculous to me but i keep hearing it. just want to know from someone who has been to armyboot camp.

What is a military stress card?

I'm not sure how much truth is behind the stress card. However a stress card is only used in boot camp if your drill instructor or RDC is pushing you too hard or you start freaking out you use the stress card and you get a break. The reason why I don't know if it's a true thing or not is because while I was in the military I kept hearing about younger people getting out of boot camp talking about stress cards. I've never physically had one and I didn't know about it until 5 years later.. With that being said if the military was handing out stress cards and people were actually using them they shouldn't be in the military in the first place. If your in the middle of a war or flight operation or rescue mission do you think everything around you is going to stop because you got stressed? So if it's real that's what it's meant to be.

Military life stress!!!?

Ok...please no negative feedback. I don't need to hear it! So, my boyfriend is in the air force (air nat'l guard) but is deployed so much its like he's full time anyway and he is currently in Iraq until January. We just hit the halfway point until he comes home and I know hes in a safer location than many others, and I am proud he's serving our country, but I feel like all I do is wait around on him. We are getting married in March and there are wedding details I could take care of, but I dont want to do anything w/o him knowing. I just don't know what to do to have a life for myself right now. I just wait around on him. And its the same day in and out b/c I dont want to do things w/o him I go to work, go to the gym, make dinner, read/watch a show and then its bed time. What can I do!?

With stress cards, funding for trans reassignment, the idea of waivers for mental illness, and woman in the infantry, how will the US Army fair against a competent and well equipped conventional army in a future war?

Why do you suggest that the elements listed above will undermine the effectiveness of the American military?Stress Cards: Stress Cards have been in place for more than a decade. Are you implying that those who have been fighting overseas since 2003 are mentally weak?Trans Reassignment: What difference does it make to you if someone behind the lines is a man or a woman? Further, what difference does it make to you if the change from a man to a woman. Are you suggesting that this might make them less effective at their administrative/ support duties?Waivers for Mental Illness: A: Do you want a mentally ill person on the front lines? There are plenty enough people who -want- to be there without saddling them with people who are either emotionally unhealthy or inclined to malinger.Plus, a lot of our service folk are coming back with PTSD. Is this not a worthwhile reason for them to get some help? Have you heard of the 22 movement? According to statistics, 22 veterans die by suicide or substance abuse every day. Mental illness is a real problem for our combat veterans, and it has been for centuries. Just because they don’t quietly drink themselves to death like they did in the ’50s doesn’t mean they are lesser men.Women in the Infantry: I’m not sure if you have been keeping up on military technology for the past hundred years, but the modern military uses rifles. Rifles project small pieces of metal at high speeds using chemical propellants. The relative strength of the service person wielding the rifle does not have any impact whatsoever on its effectiveness. This is true of just about any piece of American war material up until the bayonet.Women are weaker than men? Generally, yes. However, you and I both served with little, -little- ass dudes who would tear your throat out if you fucked with them. “It ain’t the size of the dog in the fight…”It seems like you have some pretty old fashioned ideas about the military and masculinity in general. That’s your business. To answer your question: the proof is in the pudding: the American military is as strong as ever.To go one step further, any well equipped conventional army we might face in the future would be dominated by the United States’ unparalleled air superiority. There are women serving as combat pilots too, by the way.

U.S Military Boot Camp - Stress Card?

I have heard the U.S Military (or maybe just the Army, I am not sure) issue a "Stress Card" during boot camp.

Is this true?
What is this exactly?

You can't use "Stress Cards" in real life, so why during one of the most vital times in a soon to be soliders life?

What does an air force dependent card look like?

Though your curiosity is Welcome. It is obvious that you know the answer. You might be in possession of one or may have seen it, courtesy your friend or neighbour. So, why ask this question? Obviously you intent to show off.If above mentioned assumption is wrong and you really want to have a specimen copy, it is very alarming. You might be planning something notorious. My advice, don't. You are being watched.

Online surveys for gift cards?
