Are There Any Side Effects To Missing Teeth

Will removing 4 teeth have any side effects in the long run? I am worried about it for having a clip.

In e extraction is the only option indicated for correction of mal-aligned teeth then it should be done and carried forward accordingly. It can go wrong if not done with proper treatment planning and can have the following effects:a. Space needed for correction of mal-alignmentIf space needed is lesser, then extracting 4 teeth can lead to spacing in between teeth in the long run after correction of malignment/proclination.b. Removing 4 strong teeth at a young age is not always the most preferred option. We at Dent Ally determine the extraction need precisely with 3D analysis of the end result even before starting the treatment. Thus, determine the need for extraction, interproximal reduction or arch expansion according to the needs best suited for your specific situation.Feel free to drop in your records for a second opinion on infodentally@gmail.com.

Does teeth effect your singing that much?

Well, I don't know about the belief the teeth wear and tear at twenty, but teeth effect singing from a different aspect. However, teeth cannot affect your singing so much that you are a bad singer.

Anatomy in general can affect the sound of one's voice. Some people (please do not laugh) who have big overbites or buckteeth often have issues with the shape of the vowels, and even projection of sound. They try to overcompensate often over the overbite with their mouth. Underbite can cause the same issue. I don't think braces do that much to the sound. You might have pronunciation issues in the beginning, but once you get used to functioning with the braces, it isn't really a problem. Most people with or without braces have to work with pronunciation anyway. That is normal for all singers.

Other than that, the soft palate, the tongue, all those things inside of the mouth other than the teeth attribute more to singing. Teeth doesn't do that much unless there is something dramatically different about the teeth. And nowadays with the invention of braces, most of us will not have that issue anyway.

Why do crackheads have missing teeth?

Its somethng that the substance does to their body, it depleats all the calcium and nutrients...then their teeth fall out. Thats why their so skinny too. Also, like meth addicts with sore all over their faces...the toxins are actually coming out of their pores causing this reaction with the skin.

how gross!

Can braces remove the gap of missing teeth?

I went to school with a kid who got his two top front teeth knocked out in a playground accident. He wore braces for years, and over a very long time, from like, age 8–14, the gap was closed. His canine teeth were resurfaced and capped to look more like eyeteeth, and then when his wisdom teeth came in, there was room for them, and they finally held everything in place, and he could stop wearing his retainer. I saw him as an adult, and he still has a gap between his front teeth, but it looks like the natural gap some people just have. All of the cosmetic work is really good, and looks natural. You wouldn’t know he is missing two teeth. So in at least one case, yes.I suspect that if he had been older when he lost those teeth, this would not have been successful. It probably worked because kids’ teeth move around a lot anyway. Also, I might be wrong about exactly how long he wore braces, but it was a really long time.

Is my stuttering caused by my missing teeth?

Oh man, I have the exact same problem! I had to get two back teeth taken out 3-4 years ago and ever since then I seem to be having trouble speaking fluently. It's kind of like my voice/mouth temporarily cannot say what I want, but my mind is repeatedly telling me what to say; this happens every now and again...especially if I feel rushed or anxious when speaking. I have also been thinking about getting two implants to replace those teeth in the very back but will have to wait until after college when I get my career going.(Apparently they are $3000-$3500 per tooth when I spoke to my dentist) But everything you just described I have been going through also. It's very weird when you have a mind block; almost like a hiccup from the brain to the mouth. Thus causing me to pause and hold my breath before trying to say what I was going to say without looking like an ***. I've never really felt nervous when speaking to strangers but for some reason this has been happening off and on.

So as far as replacing teeth to conquer lapses in fluent speech, I don't really know. I have been thinking about talking to a Psychology professor on campus (for free I hope) to see if they know anything about this. I think it has to do more with the brain than any dental problems.

I just learn to go with it and try to relax. Sometimes stress and anxiety can trigger the weirdest things.

Would you date someone that was missing their front teeth?

as long as he keeps quiet and doesnt smile =)

I'm missing a tooth, is there something I can glue in to fake it?

I've actually handled this same problem and even the dentist thought my solution was ingenious. I had a missing crown, so there was a stump of a tooth to work with...not sure if this will work for you.

I bought some translucent Fimo...polymer clay...that was approximately tooth colored. It doesn't have to be perfect, it just needs to look like "not a hole in your mouth." There are several brands of polymer clay at the craft store, so one should have the appropriate color. Just don't go with "white" because that would look like a chicklet.

Take a small ball of clay, shape it to match the tooth, leaving the bottom flat, and then press it into place where the tooth belongs, making sure you make contact with the two teeth beside it. Then CAREFULLY remove it, and lay it on a baking sheet. Bake at the recommended temperature for the minimum time. If you eased it out of your mouth carefully enough, it should just fit in the space. Granted, it's not good enough for chomping apples, but it's good enough to look decent. Go ahead and make half a dozen or so all at once, so you can pick what works best. You might have to refine your technique as you go. You can do a little shaping on the edges with a nail file if you need to. There IS temporary glue in the drugstore with the dental stuff used for replacing crowns until you can get it done permanently. That may help if you can't get one to stay in place. However, there isn't really anything you can "glue to your gums" since they're supposed to be wet, and it just wouldn't work.

I found the "fimo tooth" could be used for several hours and then started to absorb some moisture and looked more opaque, so it's good to have several on hand if you can. Good luck!

Will your face sink in if you have 2 teeth pulled on one side?

This will affect your mouth and may have an affect on your appearance also. When teeth are extracted, the bone that holds the teeth in place no longer has a purpose or value, thus
jawbone (upper maxilla or lower mandible) will deteriorate and receed.

If you want a good example of this, ask someone who wears dentures to take them out and have them bite down. Their face will look caved in and wrinkled. It doesn't matter if they are 20 or 60 years of age, the effect is the same.

Now granted, two teeth are not all of your teeth but it sets the ball in motion. The best thing to do is have your remaining teeth along with your gum and bone brought up to optimum dental health and then have the missing teeth replaced.

This will put back full function and stop the domino effect of missing teeth. It will also stabilize the bone so that you won't have any cave in appearance due to the progressive recession of bone about the missing teeth.
