Do I need a transit visa if I, an Indian citizen, am traveling from New Delhi to ParisĀ  on Aeroflot, with a layover of 10-12 hours at Moscow airport?

According to the IATA travel centre: Visa required.Passengers transiting only are exempt from holding a visa when:If in transit to/from Belarus; or if the airport of arrival is different from the airport of departure within the same Russian city; or if transferring between Moscow Sheremetyevo (SVO) Terminals B/C and Terminals D/E/F, then a Russian (transit) visa is required. However, I did fly from New Delhi to Paris by Aeroflot with a 2 hour stopover in Moscow and did not require a visa.I do advice you to check visa requirements on the IATA website at: Personalised Passport, Visa & Health travel documentation adviceThe website above denotes requirements for all types of travel.

No a holder of an Indian Passport does not require an Airport Transit Visa for changing Planes within the same Airport. Please note that you cannot exit the international area of the Airport and enter France as per this rule.Meaning, Your 2nd flight should be from the same AirportIf your 2nd Flight is from a Different Airport, you will have to apply for a Schengen Visa.Until July 23rd 2018, a Holder of an Indian Passport was required to have an Airport Transit Visa. However holders of US Visa were exempted from this. From July 23rd 2018, France has waivered the Airport Transit Visa requirement for all Indian citizens, regardless of where you are travelling to.You can read the details here at BorderTribeHence to summarise, If you are travelling to USA through Paris and you are simply changing planes at CDG, you do not require an Airport Transit Visa
