Best Starter Cars For An Enthusiast

What is the best first car for a car enthusiast that has to deal with lots of snow and needs good gas mileage? I kind of like the Toyota Celica and would like to know how this car would work as well.

Subaru has a full line of all-wheel-drive cars. The WRX (based on the Impreza) has won several World Rally Championships, and is very well regarded by enthusiasts. But it’s probably very expensive for a new (presumably young) driver to insure. The regular Impreza would be an excellent compromise between fun and fiscal responsibility.

What is a good first car for a teenage car enthusiast?

I live in a rather affluent area of south Orange County, CA. The cars teen car enthusiasts tend to prefer (and all have huge aftermarket support):WRX 5-door:AWD for the once or twice it rains in So Cal per year and the rest of the drivers lose their heads. Decent cargo hold in the hatch, long roof for snow/surf boards. Decent MPGs. However, if you’re a male young adult and own one of these, apparently you must have to sign a contract that states that you will drive like a total douche at all times. If I ever saw a teenager driving an WRX at a normal pace I’d probably have a stroke.Staying with Subaru, the Subaru BRZ/Toyota 86:Not nearly as practical or fast as the WRX, but for an enthusiast a really nice handling “purist” car. Well-balanced, sharp handling, light and tossable. What I’d have if I were 20 again- The VW GTI:A little more of a grown up option. Not quite as knife-sharp as the WRX or BRZ, but you can keep it for a while and not look like a dork pulling it into the office parking lot in a few years once you have your mid-level management job.The last car I seem to see a lot of teens driving, but completely different- Wranglers:Even if you don’t drive off road, you’ll look like the fun outdoorsy type. Nevermind the horrendous NVH issues and crappy mileage, you’ll look adventurous!I know all of these are pricey compared to what the typical teen can afford, but each model (except the BRZ/86) has been around a long time and there are a lot of used examples available. All can be had with a manual transmission as well.Good luck!

How do I become a car enthusiast?

It all starts from, loving cars from the bottom of your heart. You can't wake up one day and say to yourself “i may have to love cars and know everything about everything”.You can't force your mind(heart) to love something/someone.You can't say you have to love your mother because you are related to her. Everybody loves their mother, it's that kinda relation. Because your mother did everything she possibly can,for you.(just making a point)A bit awkwardly but similarly a car did everything, she possibly can.Enlighten those memories, when you tried to open the doors of a car (any car) and ask yourself”you loved it or not?”Ask yourself”was you eager enough to check what is below the car which use to run those wheels?”hmn….Ask your self”enjoyed her engine noise, that heavy diesel engine noise or that silent M800 engine(maruti 800)?”.So… now(enough of lovestory)Follow your interest, some love small cars, some love suvs and some love sedans. Ask yourself what you love? Now notice all aroud for the type of vehicle you love. Notice, how many people buy those vehicles. Now try to evaluate, why those people that type of vehicles and why others don't?Google stories, ask mechanics, service advisors, ask friends. Everytime you will get to learn something new.So… next step is to take test drives. Visit showrooms, sales outlets. Book test-drives. They are free but you may need to register your name, contact details and address etc for a test drive.Observe good points and flaws in those vehicles.Keep doing similar things, which can keep you close to those cars. This way you will enrich your car enthusiasm.FORGET EVERYTHING & JUST DRIVE!

How much money should your first car cost?

Im turning 18 in a couple of months and i think i will get a car for my birthday..but how much money would a first car cost? I have no idea what a good price would be and feel really bad that my parents want to buy me a car in the first place:/.. so what was your first car and how much did you spend? can you give me some ideas on good cool looking first car? thanks so much!:D

What's the best first car for a car enthusiast (excluding hondas, Mazda and Hyundai)?

There is no objectively “best” car for beginners or for any other age. There are only a series of trade-offs between price, function and “gotta have it” itches. Beginners in particular probably should not be driving anything with any serious grunt until they have mastered the skills. The “best” car for a beginner is one that isn’t too likely to take you outside of your skill level. So you want agile handling, good 4-wheel disk brakes with ABS, traction control, air-bags, seat belts (yes I know all cars have them, but not everyone actually wears them). Newer cars are better at all of those things than older ones.

What are some good first jobs for a young car enthusiast?

First jobs for a young car enthusiast…how young, and what kind of enthusiasm? Do you like engines, design, performance, race cars? Are you of legal age to work outside the home in your state or country? Do you want to get your hands dirty with repairs or enhancements, or learn everything that you can about history and performance specs?Check small owner-operated repair shops or performace shops for retail or shop opportunities, depending on your favorite thing about cars. Is there a race track in your area? They might hire a trainee or track helper, and that would be a great place to talk to the folks who love cars and how they go. A car parts retail store might also be a good place to start because you will learn how to analyze needs and match the right parts to what the customer wants or needs. All of these places will also expose you to knowledgeable individuals. I am tending to think the owner-operated places or small business might be a better place to start than a large chain. Car dealerships hire lot people, too, and again, the exposure to the operations and being able to talk to mechanics and other knowledgeable people can enhance the work that might not be so much fun in itself,.

What is a decent first car (I want a car that's cheap, nice, and has good stats)?

Opinions vary when it comes to deciding upon the best car for a first-time driver. New or used? Big or small? Fun or reliable? Safety equipment, crash test scores, fuel-efficiency, and reliability ratings natter, but the choice should be also driven by the driver’s lifestyle. If you want a car that’s cheap and nice, one great option is to look at used cars, which can often be had for a fraction of the cost of brand-new versions. Here are some cars you might like. All of them are reliable, fun to drive, comfortable, attractive, economical, practical, and most of all, safe. Why buy a 2003 Honda Civic: The Honda Civic is bulletproof. If properly maintained, the car can go for well over 250,000 miles without any issues. It’s one of the most popular cars in the world, that’s why spares are easy to come by and repairs are relatively affordable. This car costs $2,000.Why buy a 2001 Toyota TACOMA: The Tacoma offers rugged off-road capability in addition to Toyota's strong build quality. Low maintenance cost. Decent acceleration/speed. Strong bumper for towing. This Tacoma costs $3,853.Why buy a 2002 Honda CR-V: Since its launch in 1997, the Honda CR-V has been one of the hottest selling mini-SUV's in the world. The CR-V offers an incredible blend of economy, utility and Honda's unbeatable track record for reliability. This car costs $2,201.All these cars are available at Repokar auto auction. As for me, I would choose Tacoma. I had one 4 years ago. Bought a fully loaded Tacoma, off road package, tow package. I have never had a single problem with it.
