Big Bump On The Outside Of My 3/4 Gauges

Is a 12 gauge shotgun with double 00 buck the best home defense gun or?

You will get a lot of different answers. But in a home 00 can over penetrate through bad guy and a wall killing another person. Slugs are even worse for that.
Small 7 or 8 shot may not give you 100% stopping power larger shot is needed. Some use #1 buck #4 buck or Tshot BB, or heavy field load 4 bird shot all will stop a bad guy 20 to 30 feet from you.
Some like handguns because they are harder for the bad guy to grab as you move through the home. Handguns require more practice than a shotgun although both must be practiced with. Its really about what works for you.
Any 9mm all the way up to larger non magnum rounds work fine if your accurate with it. The magnums need to be loaded with defense type ammo or a lighter round like 38 sp for 357 or 44 sp for 44 mag.
Ammo for hand guns in the home need to not over penetrate, ammo like glazer rounds are safer.

A basketball says 6-8 psi, but outside air pressure is 14.6 psi. What's going on here?

The basketball has a tolerance to handle pressure 6 to 8 psi above the ambient air pressure before failing.

In other words. If the air pressure in the room is 15 psi, you can inflate the ball up to 21 to 23 psi before it would be overinflated and pop. (15 + 6 to 8 = 21 to 23)

What is the difference between a 20 gauge and 410 shotgun?

Shotgun bores are measured by an old English system of melting a pound of lead into round balls the diameter of the bore and counting how many balls that size you can get from a pound of lead. A number 12 bore, or as we call it, '12 gauge', is 12 round balls that fit that bore diameter from a pound of lead. No. 16 bore, sixteen balls from a pound of lead, which will weigh an ounce a piece. The diameter of a 20 gauge bore is just under .62 caliber if I remember correctly. The .410 bore, which is expressed as a caliber in thousands of an inch, is .41 inches. So, you're looking at .41 vs .62.Shotgun pellets are  basically going to all travel at about the same velocity, which is between 1200-1400 feet per second. A larger bore means that you can have more pellets in each shell, and thus a denser pattern when they all spread out. More pellets to hit the target with. A number 6 pellet fired from a .410 is going to have the very same impact as a number 6 pellet fired from a 12 gauge, but the 12 gauge will launch more of them and they'll be closer together. At a distance, the .41o pattern may be so sparse that the pellets all fly around your intended target. With a 12 gauge, that's probably not going to happen!A 20 gauge is basically two steps up from a .410, and one step up if you live in an area where no one has a 28 gauge or can readily get the shells for it.

What could be the cause of a car’s temperature gauge to fluctuate?

There are several possibilities.1) faulty teperature gauge. In this case the gauage will have to be replaced. This is relarively simple and inexpensive depinding on the make and model of the car.2) Issue with the radiator, coolant of the car. This could be caused due to insufficient coolant, leakage of coolant, damage to the radiator of the car. This will require extensive repair. In this case, it is advised to get the issue diagnosed and fixed at the earliest to avoid engine damage due to over heating.Hope this helps. :)

What's an equivalent caliber for a 12-gauge shotgun slug?

Do you mean by weight or diameter? In American usage “”12″ gauge is .729 inch diameter.Shotgun Slugs are usually sized smaller so they can pass through the choke constriction without damaging the barrel.A cylinder choke 12 gauge ( meaning it has zero choke) will shoot a .720 diameter round ball of the weight “"twelve to the pound” ( the actual definition of 12 gauge) or 583 grains. Such a bullet at the modest velocity of approximately 1100 feet per second will shoot completely through a small deer. The best historical comparison I can think of is the US Revolutionary War era British “"Brown Bess” flintlock musket, nominally 12 bore, which fired the identical ball at about the same velocity. It will work on deer too.

Without taking an official IQ test, is there any way to guess what one's IQ might be?

Yes, Simply answer these 3 questions:1) A bat and a ball cost $1.10 in total. The bat costs $1.00 more than the ball. How much does the ball cost?2) If it takes 5 machines 5 minutes to make 5 widgets, how long would it take 100 machines to make 100 widgets?3) In a lake, there is a patch of lily pads. Every day, the patch doubles in size. If it takes 48 days for the patch to cover the entire lake, how long would it take for the patch to cover half of the lake? [1]Are you ready for the answers?Let's Go!...1)$0.052)5 mins3)47 daysTricky huh? It's not surprising then that only 48 percent of MIT students were able to answer all three questions correctly. This should give you a somewhat accurate estimate of your intelligence level, since the test has been found to have a substantial correlation with cognitive ability and is potent predictor of performance on a wide sample of tasks.I have done a iq test some years back, and turns out, I have a high average to superior intellect. I got 2 questions correct. So now you can roughly gauge your own intelligence levelHope this helps :)EDIT: in case you have mistaken, this test isn't official and is nowhere as accurate as official ones due to its lack of question variety. It is vague as a comparison between you and the MIT students’ result is needed to determine whether you're above average.Footnotes[1] Try the world's shortest IQ test: Just 3 questions

Why can't my earring go through? I tried to change a 2 month old earlobe piercing but I can't find the back exit of the piercing and now a hard lump is forming on the back hole!

Sorry to say that the hole has most likely closed. Some lobes are like that. The hard lump is probably scarring. Everyone is different. For instance, my ears are stretched to 1 1/8″. If I take my plugs out for even half a day I can’t get them back in. Conversely, most of my friends who have stretched lobes will leave theirs out for days on end and have no problem getting their jewelry back in.My point is, looks like your holes slammed shut on you, my friend.

Is getting nose stud better than getting a nose ring?

They usually start you out with a long stud, because your nose will swell.  They will then cut it down for you after about a week.  The stud is the piercing standard for the nose because it allows for swelling, and does not fall out as easily as a ring.  Messing with a new piercing by putting jewellery back in can invite infection. At your piercer, you may not have a choice.  Beyond that healing period, however, I'm a big proponent of rings.  For me, the curved or bent end of nose studs that sit inside the nostril are annoying.  They always poke out of my nose, and I constantly have to readjust, making me look like I'm picking my nose at the stoplight.  A ring hangs mostly outside the nose, with only the end hugging the nostril.  That makes them easier to fall out; a concern for new piercings.  But they're easy to put back in, and so once you're healed and continually prodding the piercing isn't a worry, it's not a big deal.  I always wear a ring.  It actually rarely falls out.  Usually, I can feel that it's moved and I tug it back into place.  Rings also collect less snot! So, to recap: the stud is the recommended and best choice for the piercing and healing period.  But past that, give rings a try!
