Bloody Scabs Around My Cats Eye And Neck. Help

Hair loss on female rat around the head and neck area Help?

First off, the bloody nose you talked about might not've been blood. Rat's tears and mucus are tinted with that sort of reddish color (it's called porpherin). The color is normal, but when you see some around the eyes and nose, it often means they have a respiratory infection.
There are only three reasons i can think of for the fur loss.
1-Rat mites. They are very itchy and rats will often have little scabs or fur thinning around their face and neck from scratching, especially if their toenails are too long. But this doesn't usually happen over night.
2-Barbering. This is excessive grooming, to themselves or to another rat. Usually though, it's not all the way down to the bare skin. Self-barbering will show hair loss/thinning usually on front legs and stomach. But if Angel is babering her, the hair loss/thinning would be around the head, face, neck, shoulders. So Angel could be barbering her. This causes no health risks, and you don't have to seperate them.
3-Fungal infection, like ringworm (don't worry it's not actually a worm). This is very contagious to other rats, animals, and humans. But it is treatable. See your vet for treatment options. (Anti-fungal shampoos don't work, some over-the-counter creams might, or you can measure out a dose according to her weight of Program (a product for dogs and cats you can buy at the vet). But make sure this is what she has before treating her. Testing for a fungal infections can give a false negative, so maybe do some research to see if this is what she has. (Fungus thrives on sugar, so don't give her any sugar).
Anyway, hope she is fine!

Cat's Fur Falling Out Around Scabs?

So, one evening my 3-4YO cat came in from outside after from the looks of things a fight with another cat.

He had a badly bleeding nose and 2 small scabs on his forehead.

A few days ago the scab areas starting pussing if you applied any pressure to the cat's forehead, and he would be in some discomfort from said pressure. My Mum dealt with that though, she knows about infections and these sorts of things.

He also had fleas a month or so ago but those were dealt with.

Today though I noticed his fur around his scabs(healing well) has fallen out, leaving 2 reasonably noticeable albeit small bald patches on him.

My only question is; is this normal? And if not what is it and what can be done(a trip to the vet is in order, although I thought I'd ask here anyway)?

Many thanks for any and all help!

Scab on back of cats neck?

I have two cats and last night found a scab on the back of my cats neck, smaller than a dime. It looks fine, no pussing, just a clean looking scab. I assume the cats were play fighting and she got scratched or we have a new covered litter box and they may have been skuffling over who gets to use it and she may have bonked the back of her head??

I'm not super worried about it because it looks clean and she hasnt been scratching at it or anything and is acting completely normal.

She doesn't have fleas either. Could it be something more complex than what I assume??

My cat pulled off a scab on his paw, it's bleeding, help!?

I'm sorry to hear about you baby boy. Oh no, more than the normal amounts of paw to get hurt. Cats don't react in their usual manner when they're injured because of the stresses involved. But you really need to be able to get at him in order to help him heal up and stop the bleeding. If you are alone, and he's unatainable use a towel to pick him up and expose only the injured paw for treatment. This should keep him from biting or clawing whilst he is in pain. Always keep your hand under his neck for support of his face and head. You can then cleanse the wound with mild soap, and a warm basin of water using a cloth, or use hydrogen peroxide or betadine for disinfecting. Use sterile gauze or clean cloth over the area and apply direct pressure to the surface. Use an ice pack applied with pressure directly to the wound. The combination of pressure and ice causes vessels to constrict and minimize blood loss. If you don't have an ice pack, direct pressure alone will be of great benefit. Then you can bandage him up if he'll let you, otherwise it will heal up on it's own. At least you'll know that he isn't getting it more infected. Keeping it clean will help

What are the bugs near my cats eye?

They look like pimples, but pretty sure it moved. When I got one off, they smushed and were full of blood. My cat doesn't seemed bothered by them, but they are getting worse.

My cat has a scab on his neck that won't go away.?

I've had Cary Grant ("Baby") for almost a year now. He was about 5 weeks old when I got him. I found out my ex boyfriend would abuse him while I was at work, because one day I came home to find Baby all bruised up, sneezing blood, with a black eye. Needless to say, Baby and I moved back in with my parents and sent that motherf#cker from whence he came. So, I've been back home for about 7 months, and Baby is MUCH healthier and happier. His eye still has a bit of discharge that comes out, but it isn't any odd color and it doesn't smell bad, so I always clean him up and he's okay. He still sneezes more than a normal cat should, but he doesn't sneeze blood anymore. However, I'm concerned about the scab on the back of his neck. It used to be a really tiny scab, but my dog, Iggy, has to be everyone's savior and he licks Baby's scab whenever it reforms. I tried keeping it moisturized with vaseline like my uncle suggested, but nothing really seems to work and the scab is still there. It doesn't seem to bother Baby at all, but every time I pet him I notice it's a little bit bigger. How do I get it to go away? Why won't it heal? Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

My cat has bumps and scabs all over her neck, she keeps scratching. Please help!!?

It sounds like an allergy. It could be a flea allergy. But when my cats have had horrible itching around the head and neck to where they were scratching themselves bloody, food allergies were the culprit in both instances. A duck and pea, or venison and pea, formula for cats with allergies would take care of it, but the cat has to stay on the diet indefinitely and not have anything else by mouth except water. Natural Balance is one brand, which you may be able to find at Petco. Canned food is far healthier for your cat than dry.

If that didn't take care of it within 10 days, a vet visit would be in order. If the itching is really intense, the vet can give the cat a steroid injection for immediate relief. The effect would last about a month while you got her started on the allergy diet (you must switch to a new food gradually to avoid diarrhea) but repeated steroid injections can give cats diabetes, so they should be used sparingly.

Allergies, obviously, are not contagious.

Good luck. I hope she'll be feeling better soon.

Whats wrong with my cat? Swelling, puss, some blood, all on her neck.?

She's about seven years old and we recently (about a month ago) noticed that the left side of her neck was really swollen. so we were touching it feeling for, well I don't know lumps maybe lol, and I barely touched part of it and it started pussing like a fountain. It kept on for a good five minutes then the swelling was gone. About two weeks later I noticed it was a bit swollen again so I poked it and more puss. Now it will occasionally bleed and she has lost all the fur on the left side and under part of her neck and there is another spot where it will bleed/puss sometimes. The spots where it will puss look like holes, kinda deep ones. We can't take her to the vet right now because of money issues but we have been putting antibiotic ointment on it and wrapping it with ace bandages so it can't spread to our other cats. We have also been giving her some antibiotic pills once a day, like a third of a half of a pill. If that makes sense lol. Please help if you can, we really love her and want to fix whats wrong..
