Bubble On Gum In Back Of Mouth Above Wisdom Tooth

Painful bump above first molar... Wisdom tooth?

The wisdom tooth is the third molar, so a bump over your first molar isn't due to an impacted wisdom tooth.
Is the bump like a bulge of tissue covering the tooth? or is ur tooth fully erupted and exposed??

There's a tooth growing in the way back of my mouth, its just a bump [my gums are over it still] but it hurts!

If you already have all of your permanent teeth it is very likely that is your wisdom tooth.
You should have 14 teeth on the bottom and 14 on the top. If the extra one that is growing makes the number 15 then that is a wisdom tooth.

Usually wisom teeth grow without any problems however they can grow against the molars (back teeth) and as a result cause pain. It is said they are "impacting".
They can also cause inflammation and since it's right at the back you can swallow everything from there and that is definitely not good.

I think you should go to the dentist and have a radiograph (x-ray) taken to see if it is a wisom tooth and if its eruption will affect the other teeth. It's not a good sign if it's really paniful and a possible solution is taking it out.

It is very very common for people to have their wisdom teeth extracted.

However it depends on your case so I say visit the dentist and until then try so pain relief for the area.

Hope it goes well.

What should do if my wisdom tooth is breaking through gum?

I recommend you visit with your dentist and have an evaluation of your wisdom teeth (3rd molars) done. Commonly, a panoramic x-ray will be taken that helps in evaluating how many wisdom teeth you have and in what locations, how developed the teeth are, how much available space for these growing teeth do you have, and what the trajectory or direction they are erupting in.Erupting wisdom teeth can be quite painful. Now you know why babies are so fussy when they are teething! An anti-inflammatory like Ibuprofen can be very helpful. Keeping the area clean is going to be extremely important. It may be tender to brush, but don't avoid cleaning the area. Swishing after meals is important as well. Don't let food sit in the growing space between your erupting tooth and the gums. If the spot is getting red, hot, swollen, and painful don't delay in seeing your dentist. Those are hallmark signs of infection and ignoring them leads to bad things.Good luck to you!

Gum pain in the back of my mouth, behind the last tooth..?

The gum looks swollen and it kinda looks like a lump. It hurts a lot to eat, drink. swallow, and even talk.

What could it be?

I've taken pain medication and it barely helps at all, and the pain of it when I swallow when my toungue touches it on accident wakes me up at night..

any ideas on what could be wrong?

Why are my gums growing over a wisdom tooth?

Operculum, in dentistry, means a gum flap over any partially erupted tooth, particularly the third molar (wisdom tooth). This flap can get crushed between the tooth and the opposite tooth in the other jaw while chewing. The tissue of the operculum and the surrounding region of the gum can become tender and inflamed. An immediate effect of the tender operculum will be that some patients may cut down on food intake to avoid the pain. The patient experiences pain every time he or she chews over that tooth. Another possibility is the accumulation of food particles around the operculum. In due course, this can give rise to harmful bacteria, which have the potential to cause Operculitis or Pericoronitis. If allowed to remain unattended, Operculitis can cause excessive pain in the jaw. Swelling may spread to the cheek next to the region. It is also possible that bacterial activity will cause a bad odor in the mouth, resulting in unexplained loss of appetite on the part of the affected person. If not attended to properly, it can result in gum and tooth disease. The third molars are most commonly effected with Pericoronitis due to posterior location, difficulty to clean during brushing, and the fact that they erupt only in late teens.Treatment in attained viaOral Hygiene Measures – The best response is firstly, to ensure good oral hygiene. Some people may even try to avoid chewing on that side of the gum to avoid pain. It is possible that in due course operculum is torn off by itself.Saline Gargles – These help in reduction of inflammation around the impacted toothMedications – Analgesics and anti-inflammatory drugs are also prescribed to the patient, to reduce pain and inflammation.Removal of Impacted Tooth – Just as wisdom comes slowly, the wisdom tooth has a slow rate of eruption, and the process may take too long to remain bearable. The offending un-erupted tooth must be eliminated. Many people try to pull the operculum off by themselves. This is not at all advisable. It may cause more pain than it will relieve, and may cause dental health problems later. In such cases the recommended treatment is operculectomy, a surgical removal of the flap by a qualified dental practitioner, followed by removal of the impacted tooth.

The wisdom tooth on my top left is erupting and there's a loose gum flap. What should I do?

Straightyour dentist immediately "Yes, I would suggest you this.Let us begin with the tensed teens ... yeah a wisdom tooth erupts or begin erupting at a teenage.Probably 17 -25 yrsWhy does it take long ?Well a wisdom tooth erupts lately and really takes time to come in occlusion as it is the most posterior one. Here the bone is denser than the other parts. Both maxilla and mandibular bone .What causes a flap formation ?A flap is formed due to loosening of marginal gingiva around the erupting tooth.A flap invites loads of anaerobic bacteria to proliferate into it.it forms a pocket which causes food impaction further worsening the situation. Now what is most important to know about wisdom tooth. As people say it takes long to gain wisdom is perfect to this tooth.A wisdom tooth may not always erupt straight in the oral cavity. Eruption could be of these typesStraightMesio angular disto angularhorizontalFinding out the kind of impaction is very important to proceed with the treatment procedure .Out of the four mesioangular is the most difficult to treat. At the first go Dentist prescribe A metronidazole oint. N antibiotics with analgesic Smile as it costs nothing but do visit a dentist to maintain this All the best

Gum swelling 3 months after wisdom teeth removal?

It could possibly be a sign of infection.
ANY dental related swelling should be seen to straight away by your dentist.

Tiny traces of food particles may become trapped in the extraction pit, and work their way down under the skin. If this happens, the area can become infected.
It's possible that you might need to go on a course of antibiotics, depending how far the infection has spread (if it is an infection).

Does it hurt, anywhere near or around the swollen area?

Is the swollen area a darker colour (or a darker red) than the rest of the gum?

Is the swollen area a 'whitish colour' compared to the other parts of the gum.

Is the swollen area 'warmer' to touch than the other parts of the gum.

If yes, to most of these, it's a good indication it could be infected.

It's really important you get ANY swelling checked out by your dentist.
