Build A Better Boy Feminism At It Again

Why are most men against feminism?

I'm not very familiar with the feminist movement as it is now. The movement started as something to get women equal rights - women's suffrage, the right to own land, and the means to be independent in general. Many of these things were achieved, but some women still feel oppressed like in the workforce. There are still practices that are sexist against women, but some men feel that feminism is being sexist against men.

I believe the feminist movement has gotten much more extreme, as in women using stereotypes and the like against men. But they feel like they're being stereotyped as well. So it's a difficult situation.

Most men I know aren't really against feminism per say, but they enjoy making jokes at women's expense with stereotypes. I know they're kidding, but sometimes it's still offensive. And I'm sure some very extremists in feminism do this same thing to men. It really depends.

Do you consider yourself a feminist? I don't, because I barely even know what the movement is about. In the line of work I'm going into, women are more likely to get jobs than men now because innovation in engineering requires a wider variety of employees and a lot of companies are looking for women. So I have no problems. Maybe men feel threatened by things like this, but honestly, though the man to women hiring ratio is still skewed, it's not like they're not going to hire a decently qualified man over a highly qualified woman.

Now I'm just rambling. I don't even know if I answered your question as you wanted it. I don't see anything wrong with the movement, except those women who are using it to simply be against the male population, which isn't what feminism is about.

What do you think of this radical feminist's statement to get rid of all men & boys from earth?

"What do you think of this radical feminist's statement to get rid of all men & boys from earth?"

It's a fantasy of a sick mind...nothing more.

"Definitely, due to the presence of sperm banks, IVF,
and sperm-sorting technologies, modern women can almost easily sort the sperm, get
pregnant using IVF, and have only female children."

Well the first problem is...artificial insemination is expensive. We can pretend that it isn't, but when your rely on technology for a function that used to be performed naturally, there is an added cost.

The second problem is that sperm bank sperm will eventually deplete.

The third problem is related to the second: the sperm bank sperm will deplete even more quickly if you start sorting sperm.

The fourth problem is this manufactured sperm (ie. from bone scrapings, stem cells, etc...) is theoretical at best. For all we know, it will either not produce children, or not produce healthy children.

@ RAWR: I think you need to stop being dishonest and start acknowledging that it's feminists by and large who are the ones claiming that the other gender is redundant/obsolete. I have mentioned the concept of artificial wombs in the past...however I've ALWAYS mentioned it in response to feminists who have brought up the bone scrapings that allegedly may be used to create sperm. Just as the MRM was a response to the excesses of Western feminism, so too are MRM hyping of artificial wombs a response to the obnoxious provocation of feminists who look for any excuse to claim that men are not needed!

What do feminists think of men going their own way (MGTOW)?

I used to be a feminist, and I now consider myself to be MGTOW, so I’ll take a stab at this. The hostility is created by the fact women tend to be valued more than men. Men not only are forced to compete for women, but are still encouraged to do so in the year 2016 (under the guise of being confident and ‘manly’). Men also are always ridiculed, and in two specific ways. One way is to belittle men on how they’re morally inferior to women, despite the fact men are ridiculed for having those same characteristics that get women praise. The other way men are ridiculed is by comparing them to other men (whom are usually female-approved).Men calling themselves MGTOW are called losers by the deluded masses, but the female equivalant to MGTOW is known as women’s empowerment. Women are allowed to bash men and everything they do wrong, but it can never be the other way around. With these horrible double standards lurking against men, it’s no wonder why some men who don’t allow their sex drive to control them may be a bit irritated. Again, all of these double standards are justified by both feminists and tradcons. Feminists do so with their male privilege concept, while tradcons use their survival of the tribe argument. Are traditionalist women really any different from feminists? The answer is no, because even ‘traditional’ women cherry pick which tenets of traditionalism to keep in place, and which ones they’ll discard. In a sense I have far more respect for the feminist, because at least they’re willing to get their hands dirty and take a great amount of heat for their views. Traditional women on the other hand not only escape having the stigma of the feminist label attached to them, but still get to reap in the benefits of a post-modern feminist movement and their still retained cultural privileges. Traditionalist women (and men) also want to keep the same tradiations in place that have harmed men to begin with. It’s nice to see that MGTOW has finally started to call out all BS, and not just concentrate on feminists.

Why do people hate feminists/feminism? Especially women?!?

Sarah,

First, congratulations on being a young woman and already interested in gender issues. You are by no means alone, there are many girls your age already thinking about the same issues. And to the Neanderthals out there, you can be a feminist and love Justin Bieber -even if that's not Sarah's case. I'm way too old to enjoy JB but I used to love David Cassidy -and proud of it.

Second, don't believe everything you read in this forum. Many of the "male superiority" supporters are even younger than you -fighting acne and getting red-faced and stuttering every time a girl even looks at them. Others may be adults -though dumb ones- but reserve their tirades for the internet. In real life they won't be like this -not necessarily because they don't want it, but because they live in the real world where women may be their bosses (and I bet that's the case with some of the most rabid haters here)

Finally, there are wide gaps between advanced societies in the development of feminism, and even in the very definition of what feminism is. And there are many sub societies within a larger unit (for example, "the world", "the Western world", "the USA", "the North and the South", "large cities vs. small towns", etc. I'm often dismayed myself at seeing real women -not the avatars in this forum, they don't mean anything- seemingly dedicated to destroy their own self respect. But it's a gradual process. They just don't know what their own condition would be if they were to go 100 years back in time (in whichever society they live). You are young but you will learn to accept that fact, while at the same time fight for the betterment of women as a whole -even those who don't know why it's good for them.

A very important thing you may not know, being a young American -equality is not everything in feminism, and not wanting equality is NOT the same as wanting superiority, as the dumb trolls around here yell all the time. There is a whole branch of feminism -to which I adhere- dedicated to understand and highlight the differences between genders. Unfortunately this school of thought is way more advanced in Europe than it is here, which may lead to lots of discussion over how advanced US society really is. Anyway difference feminism is worth looking up, whatever your final choice is.

Best wishes!
