New computer build won't boot.?

First thing, are the 2 6pin PCI-E connectors attached to the video card? If they are, are both sticks of ram in the same color slot, should both be in the blue slots. Unplug and remove the data cables for other items, harddrive, opticals etc. Just the CPU, GPU, single stick of ram and HSF. Does the machine turn on and post? If it does or doesn't, power down, and remove the single ram module and replace it with the other. Power on, does it post? If it wont post you have faulty ram, RMA it. If so, power down and install both in blue, If you get no post with the bare minimum installed, and it wont work with either piece of ram installed, it could be a video card issue, or it could be the processor. Is your processor supported by that board? You did not list the CPU you had.

Where can I get help planning out a computer build?

Quora for one, we've fielded lots of "is this build good" types of questions in the Computer Hardware topic. The forums at Tom's Hardware are decent as are the forums run by Linus Tech Tips. (Honestly, I like the Linus crowd more, but that's me.)There are tools you can use like http://PCPartPicker.com that may be of some utility though like any tool, it has its limits.Since you're already on Quora, I'd start here, but you can try any of the above as well.

I need help, I am trying to build a super computer for the purpose of Rendering using Revit Architecture.?

I am looking to build a computer to run both Autocad and Revit to develop 3d renderings, I have a Macbook Pro, and they run terribly slow, I know about computers, but have not really built any. I need to know what i need, (case, processor, motherboard, etc.) I am also interested in water cooling, but I really have no clue what is good or bad. Please help, I do not want to just go to fry's and let the do it, since I am sure i could assemble it. Please Help.

Building Dual purpose PC, asking for advice?

This is not your run of the mill, "What kind of computer parts should I buy? derka derk" I wanted to get some input on the cost benefit of building either a server PC and a Desktop gaming PC, or a really nice Desktop PC that would host my game servers and at the same time allow me to play them. So I would host say, teamspeak, and maybe two games, as well as I play them and do other stuff. I was looking at some z87 motherboards, one in which even boasted the ability to support 128GB of DDR3 memory in a quad-channel. That will pretty much take care of everything probably for the rest of my life...

That being said, from an economic standpoint, would it be more feasible to just buy two separate computers?

Computer Manufacturer Advice!!!?

No because as you connect more devices to the USB port it will slow down. So why you could put a USB hub on that chain to add more "ports" its still going to disperse the bandwidth accordingly.

If you look at most MB's today they are loaded with connections from DVI to Firewire.

These boards cost way less than 100 USD. Why would I want a computer that requires an upgrade the minute I buy it? I doubt that I'm alone on that.

So if he saves money to pass it along to the end-consumer He'll sell far fewer units than making it cheaper and easier on the user.

Advice on upgrading computer hardware for gaming.?

Every time I have upgraded my computer I ve never felt quite happy with the framerates in the games I play and so I want to ask for advice this time on what I should spend the most on for my needs. What might be bottlenecking the build? Does everything have to be upgraded?

My current build:
CPU: i5 8600K @3,1GHz
GPU: Asus GeForce 970 4GB
Ram: Corsair 8GB DDR4 3000MHz
Mobo: Asus Prime Z370-P

Games I am unhappy with framerates:
Assassin s Creed Odyssey (severe framedrops at medium settings)
Metal Gear Solid 5 (framedrops at medium settings)
League of Legends (framedrops at highest settings)

Now I mostly play League of Legends but I find it pathetic to have low frames (40-50) at times in such a low-demanding game.

My budget for an upgrade is roughly 500-600 euro.

Thanks for the help in advance!

Do you have any advice for someone who wishes to build their own computer for the first time?

Get a magnetic screwdriver, or better yet, get a screw driver kit (the one with multiple bits) that way you are equipped to handle most sizes of screws.Installing a component hardly ever needs excessive force. Be gentle when you install your components and if you have any doubts then you should first either read about it online or watch a YouTube video or ask someone where you live.Install the PSU along with its cables first into the case. Although this is just a personal preference I feel it paves the way for an easier installation of other components and helps immensely with the cable management.Connect all your components OUTSIDE the case and do a test run before you install them inside a case. Doing this will ensure that all your components and working fine and if they don’t then you don’t have to disassemble the entire thing again.Assuming you are yet to buy the parts, I’d suggest the first thing you determine is your form factor needs. Once you decide that then you can freely choose other parts such as motherboard, graphics card and processor cooler. If you already have a case, then be careful when you choose your graphics card and processor cooler and pay attention that your motherboard is of a smaller or same form factor than your case.Well, these are all that comes to my mind now. Most of these tips could depend on you personal preference or needs so adjust accordingly. And mos importantly- have fun!Hope this helps.
