Cal Poly Pomona Vs Ucsb

Cal poly pomona vs UCSB?

Ok so i got into cpp with a computer science major.
I got into ucsb with undeclared in college of letters and science (i actually applied for college of engineering with a major in computer science but they didn't accept me for that)

Now where should I go to?
UC because of the UC reputation and it will be better for jobs and overall in the long run?
or cpp because it has my major (btw i'm prbly changing my major to another college of engineering major which is not that big of an issue at cpp, but at ucsb since the college of engineering is impacted, the chances are slim to none)

PLEASE TELL ME ALL THE PROS AND CONS (HELP ME OUT PLEASE D: )

UCSB vs Cal Poly SLO?

Depends on major really. They are both competitive schools to get into. If you are applying to SLO as a Comp.Sci major it will be harder to get into than UCSB for say.

UCSB, UCI, CSUF, CSULB, Cal Poly Pomona?

Hi guys! I've recently been accepted to all the universities above. My intended major is Psychology and probably Spanish since I'm sure I'll end up getting AP credit for Spanish literature (already got Spanish language). So why not right? I'm really struggling though on where I should go.
I know you can't do much with a bachelors in psychology that's why I'm planning to go get my masters in counseling; I really want to become a school guidance counselor.
UCSB is my first choice. I fell in love with it. This school is a good fit academically and socially; it's such a beautiful campus but very expensive. After financial aid I'd be paying around $11,000 out of pocket (freshman year). My parents said they'd support me but why would I make the fall into debt while CSULB is covering basically all of the cost. For UCI Id have to pay around $7,000. Knowing that I'm going to go to graduate school in the future makes me realize that if I do go to UCSB or perhaps UCI and graduate school it will leave me in debt.
Should I just choose a university that fits my financial needs or go to a school that I'd really enjoy going to? I don't know what to do knowing that I got I to a UC but settling for a CSU (which is not bad) Thank you so much!

Cal poly pomona vs UCSB?

I'm trying to decide between ucsb and cal poly pomona. I want to major in mechanical engineering. I got ME for cal poly pomona but financial math and statistics for ucsb. But If I go to ucsb I plan to transfer to ME. Should I take that chance or just go to pomona? Here are the pros and cons I have for each college

Cal poly pomona
Pros: I got the major I wanted:ME
Their engineering program is very good
Cons: socially dead (from what I've heard)
Residential halls are depressing (from what I've heard)
In the middle of no where
No skateboards on campus
No skateboards allowed in classes

Ucsb
Pros: really big party school
Good engineering program (from what I've heard)
Skateboard path
Cons: didn't get the major I wanted and it's supposedly very difficult to transfer into ME

**social life is a big factor for me when deciding colleges

Thank you!!

Engineering: UCSB, Cal Poly, or Cal Poly Pomona?

I am a mechanical engineering transfer waiting to hear back from these three schools. I plan on working in the aerospace and defense industry. Personally, I'd prefer to attend Cal Poly SLO over any school, but assuming I got into all three, I am having a tough time fully deciding between them. My girlfriend attends UCSB and I visit there frequently and love the area. But I have a hard time trying to learn how good of a program they have for engineering; I'm really looking hands-on learning and an environment where I can develop real skills to make me a very good engineer. The social scene isn't of concern for me at any school, so strictly based on overall quality of the facility and education, what are some things to know about these schools? And based on what I've said, which might be my best bet?

UCSB vs. Cal Poly for Biochemistry?

Hello everyone. In about a year i will be transferring from Santa Barbara City College to a University. Problem is... I'm stuck between 2 schools. I live right smack in the middle of both Cal Poly and UCSB so either way it's the same distance. I'm not into the party scene that much, just looking for a school that will give me the best experience possible.
I'm going to be going in the Air Firce as an officer with a Chemist/natural science concentration. Any input would be greatly appreciated

How is an MS in Computer Science from Cal Poly Pomona vs Cal Poly San Luis? Which is better, and why?

Both are great schools, and honestly, when searching for jobs in STEM, what school you go to isn’t as important as grades, degrees, experience, etc. I currently go to Pomona, and I know people who go to SLO. Both are great if you want a career in STEM. If you live closer to one or the other, or you like one’s campus/community better, go for that one. TBH Pomona doesn’t have much of a college/community feel, as a lot of students commute.

Cal Poly SLO vs Cal Poly Pomona vs all UCs( Except for Berkley)?

Well, in terms of rankings, all the UCs trump the Cal State system, even the Cal Poly's.

If I had to be an engineer at any UC school that wasn't Cal (because had you not excluded it, I'd have said Cal)... I'd probably go to UC San Diego or UC Santa Barbara. UCSD is pretty strong in the sciences in general. Good faculty. La Jolla ain't bad, either.

But Santa Barbara would be a treat. Because the other students are off partying or taking easier courses, you'd get more face time with some great engineering researchers. Little known about UCSB is that it is a very good research university. They got Nobel physicists. And the've got a gorgeous beach. If you like beaches and nice weather, UCSB is the place to be. dorms with ocean views.

And if you have to pick between the two Cal Poly's, I'd go with Cal Poly Pomona. SLO is notorious for long delays unto graduation. Classes are so impacted, it's hard to get the courses you need to finish in 4 years. I know a few SLO grads. NOBODY finished in 4. Cal Poly SLO is nice because it has a college town and beach town feel to it. but it's otherwise isolated. Say what you will about Pomona (its repuation is spotty), it's close enough to Los Angeles that you can get away in the evening.

Cal Poly Pomona vs. UCIrvine (engineering major)?

Cal Poly Pomona is ranked higher in engineering than UCI by the US News ranking. Cal Poly Pomona is better at some programs, but the two are not really comparable since Pomona has unique programs in agriculture, architecture and hospitality.

Mechanical Engineering: UCI, UCD, UCSB, Cal Poly Pomona, or CSUS?

According to the US News, they rank as follows.

1. UCD
2. Cal Poly Pomona
3. UCSB
4. UCI
5. CSUS

Cal Poly Pomona is probably the most unique of the 5 since along with SLO, they apply their "learn by doing" hands on approach. Check out the following videos of their Formula race car and concrete canoe teams. They regularly beat out the Berkeley and UCLA teams.
