Can A Crested Gecko Live In A 20 Gallon Long Tank

Could I keep a crested gecko in a 40 gallon viv?

For the benefit of the majority of the world population who live outside America what are the dimensions of a 40? It's nothing more than a number to the rest of the world.
I'm not being rude, I would like to help but can't

How many Leopard Gecko's can fit in a 20 Gallon Long Tank?

ok so my cousin breeds snakes and lizards. so he worked out that he can give me a Baby Leopard Gecko for free, and he is also giving me a 20 gallon long tank. i was just wondering how many leopard gecko's can i fit in it while they are still living happily and healthy? but i think i will only put 2 in for now. and also, don't worry about me not taking care of them well. because i've been wanting one for like 4 months now and i have been reading non-stop about proper care. Thanks

How many crested geckos can happily live in a 20 gallon long tank?

Crested geckos are great pets, in my opinion....though I prefer my leopard geckos. Two of my 3 cresties are actually very laid back and easy to handle. One has fallen asleep on my shoulder, and the other will chill out on my laptop for hours on end. The third is just too jumpy to be trusted like that lol. And yes, a 20g long will need to be stood up on the side. There are actually conversion kits to add a door and barrier on the "top".

In that size tank, only one would be comfortable. I would recommend keeping them separate anyways. Even females can fight...and unfortunately one of mine has a scar to prove it.

They are usually ok with being held, though this depends on the gecko itself. As said before, one of mine is very jumpy, and even with regular handling, he hasn't really calmed down.

They don't have to be fed live insects. I feed mine a couple of crickets or dubia roaches about once a month as a treat. They do quite well on the Repashy crested gecko diet.

Care:
Tank- 15 gallon tall or larger
Water- Fresh bowl of it each day...not too deep.
Misting- Mist 1-2 times daily with a dry-off period in between mistings.
Substrate- I highly suggest paper towel. It's easy to clean, stays moist, and can't be ingested.
Heating- Not needed unless it gets below 65F on a regular basis...then a 40W ceramic heat emitter would be fine. Make sure that the temperature does not get over 85F.
Lighting- Also not needed. They don't require UVB. If you want a viewing light, I suggest a 2.0 UVB or a regular fluorescent light.
Hides- They usually don't use anything set on the ground, so plenty of branches, vines, etc. would be great to provide them hiding places. If you use any real branches, make sure it has no sap and bake it in the oven at 200F for 10 minutes to kill off anything. For vines/plants, dollar store silk plants work great as long as there's no exposed wire.
Food- Repashy crested gecko diet is highly recommended, but Clark's, Big Fat Geckos, and Pangea all have good diets, too. I do not suggest getting any "gecko bites" or "Fluker's crested gecko pellets" as they won't eat this. They eat primarily by licking up the powder mixed with water. Feed the CGD 4-5 times per week.

Can a crested gecko live in a 20 gallon long tank?

They can live in a 20 gallon long, just make sure to have more branches and foliage going all the way across the tank.

Can I house 3 adult leopard gecko in a 20 gallon long tank?

Every one basically covered all the usual housing rules.

The general rule being 1 gecko per gallons.

but no one that i recalled has mentioned that you have a boy and 2 females? i believe.

2 leopard geckos can be housed in a 20 gallon. Only thing is when breeding, a group ratio of 1 male to 2 females can fit in a 20 gallon. Some people even do 1male:3female ratio is a 20 gal.

Getting a 29 gallon would be insufficient because it's the same floor space as a 20gallon long. A 30 gallon would be best as the floor space increases. (which i recommend)

If your intentions are breeding, then yes the 3 can fit. If not no. The difference is the stress. In a breeding group it is only temporary about 5 months until the females lays all the eggs. When their not mating, the females will build a lot of stress from feeling cramped.

In shorter words, if breeding yes. But the male must be removed after all eggs are laid. If not, then no.

Will a leopard gecko live happily in a 10 gallon tank?

If you only have one leo , then yes, thats perfect.
My leopard gecko is about 3 months old now and lives happily in a 10 gallon.
Before i got him i did alot of research, and they say multiply the ammount of leos you will have in the tank by ten and thats the ideal size teranium you should get.

Reptiles and Amphibians that could live in a 20 gallon tank (Long)?

Flipping the tank vertically would allow a single Crested Gecko to live in the tank. You would not need to provide supplemental heat, but they do require high humidity. I feed my "Cresties" Repashy CGD, no crickets, and that provides a balanced diet - but you can also choose to supplement CGD with crickets and the occasional mealworms. Baby food is too sugary and not nutritious.

A single house gecko, anole, or smaller day gecko species could also make the tank home, but only one of them could fit. The tank setup would be similar, except you may be able to get away with keeping it horizontal. Unlike Crested Geckos, however, house geckos and day geckos do not take well to handling, and depending on the anole's personality, it may also be too shy to handle. A gargoyle gecko might also be able to fit, and they are usually tolerant of handling.

Anything else, except for smaller species of snakes which you stated you were not interested in, would not really fit into the tank. Many lizard species could fit as juveniles but would outgrow the tank as they grew into their adult size.

EDIT: Wanted to add after seeing others' responses: a bearded dragon will absolutely not fit in this tank. Please do not listen to that. :(

What kinds of reptiles can live in a 20 gallon tank for their whole life?

Wow how rude of answerer #1 saying reptiles don't have feelings. Now that is someone I would want to take advice on which pet to choose??!!
Umm... I have had a variety of reptiles - iguanas, snakes, toads, frogs, turtles, and now a bearded dragon. I can vow and prove that not only do they have feeling, but they have personalities, memories, and more. I call my bearded dragon my doggie with scales. She knows that when I pull her leash and harness out it means she is going for a ride in the car and gets excited. She knows which one of us pet her in which way (one scratches uner her chin, one pets her tail, and I usually rub her back) depending on what she wants will make who she goes to.

As far as what can live in a 20g its whole life, well this is honestly a limited list.
A leopard gecko, anoles, fire-belly toads, other small toads or frogs, scorpions, millipedes, hermit crabs, some types of snakes (like corn snakes). Pretty much everything may be able to start in 20g, but will soon need a bigger tank.

What pet should I get, a hamster or a crested gecko? I've owned hamsters before that’s why I’m considering the gecko, but I’ve read that they hide away in their tanks, and I imagine that handling them can become boring. What do you think?

I'd recommend a leopard gecko over a crested gecko if you're looking for a pet you can handle. They're very cute, interactive, and easy to keep. They tolerate handling well and are all around great beginner reptiles.Care info:My care sheet animation: Leopard Gecko Caresheet & Video | Wiki | Reptiles Amino  For the tank you’ll need:  - 20 gallon (60cm long) tank/tub/vivarium minimum (go for a 40 or 50 if you can) - Substrate -kitchen towel, tile, or eco earth or bioactive substrate if over 5 months - 3 or more hides (hot, cold, and humid) - Water dish  - Fake plants and climbing enrichment  You’ll also need a quarantine tank for the first 6 weeks of owning your Leo.   Info on quarantine here: Leopard Gecko Quarantine: What is it and why is it | Wiki | Reptiles Amino  Heating equipment:  - Heat mat - Digital thermometer  - Thermostat  - Overhead heating such as a CHE or DHP can be used but you should always use a heat mat with them.
