Can A Different Color Fix Yellow Lighting In Bedrooms

Can a different color fix yellow lighting in bedrooms?

My bedroom, as with other rooms in my home, seem to make yellower tones simply stand out more, especially on camera (plus Apple products already had issues with that in earlier devices). We use a lot of teals, greens, beiges, and one room is red...we also tend to keep the house lighting fairly dim? I don't know if that's the cause though, even when we DO fully illuminate a room photos still look unnaturally saturated.

Would changing the colors of the walls actually make any impact?
Thanks in advance xx

Yellow walls, yellow light, dim room?

My bedroom is painted a brownish-yellow (think dijon mustard). Unfortunately, the lights in the room shine the same color... I'm having an issue with sufficient and tasteful lighting... It always seems so dim in the room, despite the amount of light, and no matter how much more light I get, it's always the same stuffy yellowish color! I would the room to seem wide open with plenty of breathing room, but the flat yellow lighting is only stifling the room. The room is L-shaped and I only have one narrow window to work with at one end of the L... Any suggestions on how to open up the room and get this stuffy yellowishness to go away?? Someone suggested I use a blue-colored light to counteract the yellow?

Which is the best colour for a bedroom according to Vastu?

Shiva Om Dear Friends,The colour for the bedroom will primarily depend on the direction the bedroom is located in. As as per Vastu Shastra every direction is governed by a parrticular planet and also cerrtain gods or devils or tatwa’s and in accordance and complete harmony with these aspects one need sto decide what should be the colour of the bedroom.Ahead I have given a few placement of bedroom in various directions and the ideal colours that one can have :A. THE SOUTHWEST BEDROOM:This is the ideal master bedroom. This direction is ruled by the “Pruthvi Tatwa” ( Earth element and hence one needs to have earthly colours in this room, like for instance you can have brick red, browns, occur yellow, ivory, etc . You can always have a combination of these colours too.By colour one should not restrict oneself only to the colour of the walls, but then it extents to curtains, floorings, laminates, etc. In case of flooring you can have wooden flooring which has various hues of brown or Occur Yellow Jasalmer stone, or Mandana stone, etc. You will need to extent the same logic to other materials too.B. THE WEST BEDROOM :The bedroom in the West direction is ruled by Lord Shani and at the same time the deities there is Varun ( The God of Rains ) hence, you can paint this room in Grey’s or hue’s of blue.C. THE SOUTHEAST BEDROOM :This bedroom is ruled by Lord Agni ( Fire God ) and hence you will need to use either Red, Orange, White or any other fire colour. You can mix and match these colours. Do not go for colours which are against these various basic principles. Like for instance if you pain this room in blue or sea green you are depicting water which is an anti thesis to Lord Agni.It is on the same line that you will need to decide for all other bedrooms. Kindly do not decide as per the horoscope. It is a completely flawed theory. To explain myself better just imagine that as per my horoscope a certain colour is good for me in my bedroom and the same colour is bad for my wife and for my child it is neutral then what am I supposed to do ?I earnestly hope that this answer has been useful to you in understanding the rationale of colours for bedrooms.Shivam Kalyanam,Prof. Dr. Manoj Kalantri. Yellow Spots on bathroom walls/ceiling after showers?

Could be a couple of things...
You mentioned that the previous owners were smokers. Seems unlikely since you just painted that any smoke film/residue left on the ceiling or walls would be coming thru the new paint. Does it appear to be doing that?

The next idea...Do you have iron in your water? You will notice this by rust colored rings forming in sinks, toilet, etc.
When the shower is run, steam is formed and if the water contains rust that is not being removed by a softener or filter then the steam droplets will contain rust and the drips will appear yellow or orange.

About the ceiling fan...since it is new and rated for the size bathroom you have, it should be removing the steam before it collects into droplets on the ceiling and walls. Check to make sure that the fan is operating properly, not blocked in some way and is vented to the outside of the house (not into the attic).
You can check to see if it seems to be drawing air well by lighting a match, candle or incense stick below the fan and watch the flame or smoke being pulled toward the fan.

If you discover that the paint is the issue (not the most likely cause) lightly sand the ceiling, repaint with a good quality primer (I use Kilz2). Allow to dry well and repaint with the ceiling paint.
Do the same on the walls. The walls/ceiling should be dry for a couple of days before starting the repainting if necessary.

How do I make my bedroom brighter? No overhead light.?

My bedroom has no overhead light. I have a floor lamp and a table lamp, but it's still really dark at night and on rainy days. What can I do to make it brighter? (I live in an apartment) Any suggestion for bright lamps or any way that I can add an overhead light without bothering the walls?

My parents won't let me redecorate my room?

So I live in a rich town and all My friends have such beautiful houses. I'm not rich, and it's not hard to tell. But I'm 14 and my room is pink everything. Pink walls, pink carpet, pink furniture, even a lamp which makes the lighting pink. I got it all done when I was 4. I hate pink and it's so embarrassing when friends come to my room and call it "princess paradise" and my room is miniature so pink is literally being thrown up on you. I understand my parents can't afford to do the carpet or big furniture. But I kept asking if I could paint my room with my dad instead of paying someone to do it. It's still a no. I'm not trying to be spoiled, it just sucks that the only place in my house I can hangout in is embarrassing and ugly. :/
