Can anyone identify this song?

This one is kinda tricky... but hopefully someone will recognize it.

It was used on Grey's Anatomy at least once, I don't remember which season or episode. If that helps at all. It is sung by a woman, and it starts out with rhythmic humming, sort of like this: hmm... hmm... hmm... hmm-hmm hmm hmm... super accurate, I know right? The lyrics were hard to understand, but at some point during the song, maybe it's the chorus maybe not, she says "And the birds do sing" or just "birds sing" over and over. So yeah. I know that's not a lot of information to go on, but I'm sure that someone, SOMEWHERE knows this song, and you song detectives can probably figure it out. So yeah, any suggestions are great. Help a girl out.
Thanks(:

Can anyone identify the name of this song and the artist?

I had this song on an old tape recorded off of college radio about 15 years ago and have never been able to find the artist or song title. I'm guessing the song is called "good times", because that phrase is repeated in the chorus a lot.

The first verse goes something like this:

"I work real hard from 9 to 5
scrape and struggle just to stay alive
when 5 oclock comes I crawl back to my dirty hole
and eat cheap wheaties from a cracked plastic bowl"

Creative searches on google have yet to produce a title. Anyone know this tune? Thanks in advance.
