IF anybody tells you that MBBS abroad is better than in INDIA! THEY ARE LYING TO YOU! Keep away from them!If you are talking about studying medicine in the USA, UK, Australia, Canada or Western Europe, then yes - medical education in these countries has higher value globally than India. BUT if not, India is the best choice - trust me.I am a 2nd year medical student currently studying in the Philippines. Let me be brutally clear. Indian MBBS is highly valued outside India. Especially in the U.S. and U.K., (I have doctors in my family who live and work there). Ultimately, most of us choose to go abroad because we could not secure an admission in India and can’t pay the crores needed for a seat.I chose the Philippines because of the language, lesser flight travel time, similarity to the U.S. educational standards, living costs and fee structure.BUT, Don’t expect the best and come here. Some colleges in the Philippines are working with agents and producing people with degrees, NOT DOCTORS. In these colleges you will be treated like second class students and the real training will only be given to Filipino students. This is the TRUTH!Many of the upvoted answers above are from Indian Educational Agents/consultancy. They will only tell you things you want to hear. Is it wise to study MBBS in Philippines?
Hi,Studying MBBS from any foreign country like Russia, China, Ukraine, Armenia, the Philippines have the same value for an Indian student. You need to clear the screening test/licensing exam in order to be eligible to practice in India.However, the passing percentage of students who have done MBBS from Philippines is higher than the passing percentage from countries such as Russia, China, Ukraine, Armenia, Kyrgyzstan, Kazakhstan, Nepal.The reasons are:First of all, there is no need to learn any new language. The official language in the Philippines is English. This means that you don’t have to waste any time on learning a new language and you do what you went to do- study medicine.Secondly, the climate is similar in both the countries. There is no cold season in the Philippines. The average temperature is about 26° C. Since the climate is so same, the student would not have to adjust in a new environment. A similar climate means that the disease pattern is also same. You will be taught similar diseases which happen in India.The course duration is 5 years. In some colleges, the course duration might be more too, upto 6 years. This is because of the BS-MD education pattern.The FMGE or MCI Screening Test Passing Percentage of the students from the Philippines between 2012–14 was higher than most other countries at 24.6%.The quality of education is high in the Philippines. The high MCI passing percentage is a proof that the studies are of excellent quality. The study pattern followed in the Philippines is the US Pattern.Students have the opportunity to do their Post Graduation from USAafter completing MBBS from the Philippines. The students who want to study from USA go to Philippines. After completing PG or residency from USA, students are not required to sit for MCI Screening Test.There are many good universities in the Philippines which offer medical studies to Indian students.
