What are some good songs for one's 50th birthday?
I turn 50 in December, and I want to have a Cincuentanera, that is, a 50th birthday party. I'm thinking of having my family and friends sing musical theater songs and other songs about middle-age and aging, growing up, and the cycle of life. So far I've thought of "Memory" from Cats, "When I Was Seventeen" (Frank Sinatra), "September Song", "Those Were the Days" (Miriam Hopkins?), "Old Friends" (Simon & Garfunkel), "Sunrise, Sunset" from Fiddler on the Roof, and "Circle of Life" from The Lion King. Well my sister is getting married May 17 & I need a song to sing. My best friend sang God Gave Me You at her sisters wedding but I don't want to copy & I've been looking everywhere for a song. I already know about God Bless The Broken Road but I've heard that song at too many weddings. I'm mostly looking for a soft piano song to sing to. It HAS to be Christian. It's a must. Please help!
