Can Black Dye Cover Up Faded Purple/ Burgundy Hair

Can you dye faded blue hair burgundy?

As you know, that turquoise "dye" is not really a hair colour, but a stain. It works very differently than does a hair tint. While it will fade quickly, there is that faint stain that always remains, and you cannot remove it -- ever. It has to be cut off.

What ever colour you use over this, that faint stain will always be there. If the colour is dark enough, perhaps it won't matter. But it may counter some tones you have in the tint. You need to really take a good look at the colour wheel to understand what will happen.

If it is a faded blue-green, burgundy may work quite well over it. There is some blue in burgundy, so that is good. The green works against reddish tones, but since there is so much red in the burgundy, I don't think it should matter that much. It just may darken the burgundy a tiny bit. I think that burgundy is probably the best choice in your case.

The only way you will know is to do a strand test. If you like the effect, great.

Dyed my hair burgundy but turned purple! help me!?

Last night i dyed my hair a deep burgundy. Let it sit for the proper amount of time, rinsed it and used the conditioner packet. It looked great afterwords. II woke up this morning
and it still looked alright. I checked back around 830 this evening and my hair was purple! What should i do? I dont want my hair purple longer than it has to be. I only have about $20... Someone please help?

If a person with blonde hair dyed their hair black and purple, what color would it fade out to?

Black dye never really goes. It would probably end up fading a bit lighter to a very dull horrible color. If someone has light or just blonde hair do NOT dye it darker or black it will ruin the color completely. Even if it grows out it may never look the same. It won’t fade to a brown color it will just have some blonde at the roots and grey brown black dulled color all throughout. With purple streaks, they would fade too but not a very nice color.

Will black hair dye cover purple?

I have been dying my hair bright colours for a few years, and I am going to dye my hair black for a job. My hair is purple right now, so will black hair dye cover purple? I don't care if there is a tiny bit of purple showing. But will it cover?
Thank you. =]

How do you get rid of purple hair dye after the color has faded in your hair?

Ah! I've been there myself! Lol. As these beautiful fashion colors are a direct dye, they are heavily loaded with pigment. If you applied it to bleached hair (which is what creates those beautiful vibrant colors!) time is the best way. You could try a few shampoos with Dawn,as that is alkaline and MAY lift it a bit. Vinegar is actually acidic, and CLOSES the cuticle. These colors are not permanent, and will completely fade with time! I,however, faded from purple,to lavender, then my blonde looked slightly silver, then it was gone! So unless you want to go back to purple, just be patient,my friend!

Which method would be best to dye my black hair burgundy?

So im on here looking for some information but I saw this and figured I would recommend something.

First, coloring your hair is like coloring on paper...if you have black paper...a red crayon will not show up very well...so you have to get lighter hair.

So you have the option of doing a full head bleach, waiting two weeks 9 so your hair can regain its strength) and color it auburn.

Or if the black is not your natural hair color and is lighter, you can fade it with " Color Oops". Despite the smell, it is gentle, non chemical, non bleach and will rinse any hair color out....just follow the directions to a T! Its about $12 and can be picked up at most drug stores.

If neither of the options suit you or is something you are willing to do, you could try coloring it with a light brown, and continue to color it ever 2 weeks until eventually the color is so set that it starts masking your dark locks and actually lightens it.

Or, if you are like me, you can pick up the most red tone auburn you can find and slap it on. You wont get crazy Auburn hair but it will give you a tint and shimmer in the sunlight.

Just remember though, if you do any type of red....and you want to bleach it later ( highlights, all over color, or even just a few streaks) you better be prepared to get orange. Any type of red under tone dye will do that.Bleaching your hair strips away different shades therefore leaving red hair- orange :(

Good luck sweetie, Im sure it will look great!

Will dying black blue hair dye over dark burgundy hair turn purplish or will it turn to the blue black?

There are a couple variables that you didn't mention. What kind of dye is it? Permanent or temporary? What is your natural color? Brand may matter. Generally, if it's permanent, it will dye your hair blue black and it'll stay that way for about 6 weeks before it starts to fade. If it's temporary or semi-permanent it'll slowly start fading to a darker brown (with a slight hint of purple at first if you're lucky) as soon as you shampoo it since the blue in those don't last long and almost always fade to green on its own.

Burgundy hair dye on medium brown hair?

I dyed my hair a dark burgundy and my hair is medim/dark brown naturally. My questions is will my hair look funky if it fades? or have too much of a purple or red tint? Or will the red/purple hues leave my hair and the dark brown will stay ?
What can i do to prevent color fading?
Please don't answer if you don't know !..Thanks

What color does purple hair dye fade to?

It depends on the color of your hair to start with. If you're colouring purple over blonde hair, or hair that has been bleached blonde, it will fade to a very pale purple over time. The purple color in the hair will slowly leach out, helped along by shampooing, heat styling, that sort of thing. After enough time the vividness and hue of the purple color will fade, leaving you with a rather muted, vaguely purplish shade on your hair. It may also be influenced by the other tones in the hair; my purple color was slightly blue-toned (think ultraviolet) rather than a warm purple, so I found my faded purple color to be slightly grey-tinged as well.If you're colouring directly over brown or other dark hair, your hair will probably return to close to it's previous shade as the purple dye leaves your hair. The purple color won't be as vivid when your first dye it as opposed to coloring over blonde hair, but as the color leaves your hair you won't be left with a sort of lacklustre purple residue because it won't be enough to "show through" the existing dark color of your hair.As always, this is just general advice, and I encourage you to discuss this with a stylist who can make specific recommendations based on your hair type.
