Can Chicken Fat Harm Cats

CAN CATS EAT CHICKEN?

Yes a cat can eat chicken. But just like the human form deep fried is bad for kitty. If you do give them chicken it should not be breaded or deep fried. as the extra amounts of fat can clog your Kitty's digestive system causing problems. Chicken in good moderation is ok for cats but not on a regular basis. feed your cat knowing that he/she is smaller and different than you. but other than that your cat should be ok.

Can a cat eat fried chicken?

Can? Yes. Should? No! Not only is it unhealthy for your cat to eat human food (especially junk food), but you will also be telling your cat that is is okay to eat your food. Down the road you might end up having a cat that begs, steals your food, jumps on furniture where there is food (dining tables, kitchen counters). Of course it is hard to resist giving treats to your kitty, but avoid giving them human food as much as possible.

Can I feed my cat chicken?

I have been feeding my cat chicken occasionaly for a while now on and off because he is picky about his food and only likes about two kinds of cat food. I would buy him another kind and he would hear it being poured in and run right to it then sniff then meow then walk away. like its infested or old or not good enough. He is a grumpy old kitty cat and as I said PICKY. He sometimes. eats my Maccaroni n' cheese, loves chili, likes hotdogs sorta. Yeah... I only give him those when I'm eating it then he looks at me so cute and innocent I give in and break him off a peice. The chicken has chakka sauce on it and yeah. Idk if that's bad. cat food is too expensive and he throws up sometimes when he eats the dogs food..., Is it ok to give him some chicken as a meal?

What can I do if my cat ate raw chicken?

What can you do if your cat eats some raw chicken?Give her a few strokes, say “good kitty” and make sure she’s got a bowl of fresh water to wash it down with.Cats are obligate carnivores. If your cat was locked out and you couldn’t feed her as long as she still had claws she’d go out and catch her own food, most likely sparrows would be a big part of what she could catch. And gastronomically there’s not a big difference between raw chicken and raw sparrow, except that with the sparrow she’d have to get off most of the feathers first and would probably also eat the guts and the bones.Your cat is evolved to eat raw meat. Unless it was contaminated (in which case you shouldn’t be eating it even after it’s cooked) there’s no harm in it. She might even prefer raw chicken to cooked chicken, it’s just that people don’t have a lot of raw chicken around because it doesn’t keep for long at room temperature.

Cat ate raw chicken, should I be worried?

Nope, don't worry at all. Like another poster said, they eat birds, mice & rabbits in the wild, so a little fat from a chicken breast shouldn't hurt them at all.

My cats do this often--they seem to forget they are well fed and dig through the trash--and I've never had a problem.

Kitty will be fine. :)

Can cats eat raw or cooked chicken?

Yep... a chopped up raw chicken breast is the perfect place to start. No cooking needed.

I personally feed a ground Raw Meat, Bones and Organ based diet to my cats and they are incredibly healthy on it. I HIGHLY recommend it. While scary at first, once I got the hang of it and felt comfortable with it it's a snap to prepare.

Cats are obligate carnivores after all and must derive ALL their nutrients from meat based sources. They are unable to absorb them from any other source. Despite thousands of years of domestication they remain strictly carnivorous. True and honest meat eaters and that is what they need most. Protein from meat!

Will feeding my cat chicken make him fat?

Dry food (biscuits) are the worst and it does make many cats fat. That's because it's high in carbs and cats need to eat an Atkins-like diet (Catkins!)

The chicken won't make him fat.

Canned food (tinned) is indeed far superior to dry food, but raw meat is the very best diet of all.

However, if you plan to feed your cat home-prepared meals, you need to know what you're doing. You couldn't simply just keep feeding him the chicken alone as he wouldn't be getting the nutrients he needs.

If you want to learn more about feeding raw meat, check out the groups from my 360 page. Join them and you'll learn more than you ever wanted to know about feeding meat!

But if you'd rather stick with feeding canned food, see the What to feed link. I don't know if any of these brands will be available where you live, but they might. In any case, the article will help you identify good foods that you do have in your area.

And once again - dry food doesn't clean their teeth. Canned food doesn't cause tooth decay or tartar.

Can cats eat chicken broth? Is it good for them?

House in the village where I grew up was full of cats, dogs, goats, if you can name it and make its sound it was there. My granma would regularly just empty whatever leftovers there was into the big bowl in the yard and whoever was in closest proximity with biggest balls to protect this bowl would get the best bits. This chrome bowl was constantly shiniest object, one could easy see its reflection from orbit of earth. Animals were healthy, lived long and prospered. Currently, my cats whom I keep in apartment and they dont get out, only to get some fresh air from visits to balcony, eat lots of different vegetables in their diet as I cook for them since 8weeks old. If you feed them chicken broth, make sure that there is no salt as SALT is your common cat-killer(kidney problems). But minerals in root vegetable are ok + if you feed them dry food, its salty as hell anyway. This is how I usually prepare meals for 2 Cats(male and female) for week.1 x pack of liver aprox 250g (any kind, pork liver is fatter than ox, chicken, my cats were getting fat, so I switched to chicken recently.)1 x carrot1 x cup of oats3-4 cups of water.in a pan stir fry on low heat chopped liver until sealed, chop carrot/add to liver. Then add oats and water. stir as it can stick to bottom of pan. once thickened up set aside to cool. Can be frozen, last in fridge in air tight container up to 7days. You can variate different types of vegetable and liver. (apologies for my grammar im not native English speaker.)

Is chicken broth okay to give to a cat?

Check the ingredients. The packages of broth I have contain onion powder, which isn't safe for cats. Onions and garlic both need to be avoided for cats because they cause anemia: http://cats.about.com/cs/catfood/a/human...

If it doesn't have those then it's probably fine but a bit high in sodium, so only in moderation.
Room temperature would be good. Many cats don't like anything cold.

A good and safe thing to give him for the short term would be plain all meat baby food. Pick one that's all meat with no other ingredients. I usually give mine chicken baby food when they're getting over a problem. My vet generally recommends a bland diet like that when there's stomach upset or a similar problem.

Can I feed my cat raw chicken breast?

This is the original question in case the question changes; “Can I feed my cat raw chicken breast?”It's inadviseable to do this. The cat will probably prefer the raw meat to cooked meat. However, salmonella bacteria in the raw chicken can cause salmonellosis in cats. Along with causing gastroenteritis and septicemia in cats, salmonellosis is a zoonotic bacterial disease, meaning it can be transmitted to humans. If your cat gets salmonellosis from raw chicken it is likely to become very sick and possibly die. If you fed the cat raw chicken as a one off it'll probably be fine but if this is part of what you feed your cat on a regular basis it may simply be a matter of time before your pet falls ill.MSD Veterinary Manual (MVM) says;“Nuritional problems occur most commonly when dogs and cats are fed imbalanced homemade diets, when cats are fed diets formulated for dogs, or when dogs or cats are fed certain human foods. Dog or cat foods or homemade diets derived from a single food item are inadequate.""Unlike dogs, cats require dietary sources of vitamin A, arachidonic acid, and taurine. Cats also require higher quantities of fat and protein than dogs, as well as of the amino acid arginine and the vitamins niacin and pyridoxine (vitamin B6)."People attempting to give their cat homemade diets often end up either giving them mercury poisoning from constantly feeding them tuna, salmonellosis from feeding them raw chicken or for people who give their cats milk to drink the cats develop horrible stomach pains and diahrrea as the indigestible lactose in their gut starts to ferment.Just because wild animals consume raw meat doesn't mean this is safe or an optimal diet. Cooking meat may break down some nutrients, but cooking the meat makes it safer by destroying parasites and bacteria that can cause diseases.Your best bet is to buy your cat food which is specifically made for cats. A combination of sachet food and biscuits are good. If you have cooked meat leftovers from your own meal you could feed your cat those as well in addition to their regular diet.
