Can I Be Evicted For Becoming Pregnant While Renting A 1 Bedroom In Ct Public Housing

Can a convicted felon live in low income housing?

i live in a low income apt. and my husband is not on the lease because we assumed that he wouldn't be allowed cuz he has multiple felonies. So i snuck him in. But the landlord watched the cameras and said hes been around too much and he thinks that hes living with me. I said no but the landlord said he needs to leave or apply. so i was wondering if it's even worth the time and effort and $25 credit check. I dont want to just ask the landlord because that will basically be my confession to the fact that he was living with me.

Why can't a full time college student live in section 42 housing or low income housing?

I am trying to do my research on the internet but I am coming up short. I am a full time college student. I am 33 and recieve a grant which basically equates to $100 extra a month which is not for living expenses but school expenses. I am on disablity and get $600 a month. My current rent is $405 a month. My parents only help me out ocassionally but but if they do it is only $100 or $200 a month. My mom says she can't help me much anymore. I have applied for 50 jobs and had several interveiws but no one will hire me because of the disablity and being a full time college student. I am on the waiting list for public housing/section 8 and will only have to pay $188/month. This will save me from going bankrupt. The apartments are brand new and very nice. I was very excited about moving there but then they hit me with you can't be a full time college student. I asked why they said the government won't allow it. They say a college student can live in the dorm or with their parents. But.cont.

Can a pregnant woman get evicted?

For non-payment of rent? Not, I think, in France. In the USA yes. Unless a particular jurisdiction has a law I haven't yet seen. In England, a household in risk of eviction is the responsibility of the Council if a family member is pregnant: http://www.clsdirect.org.uk/documents/leaflet06e.pdf

But you haven't said where you are.

And if you mean, "Can a woman be evicted on the sole grounds that she is pregnant?" -- presuming that she has signed a lease in which she agreed there would be no children -- the answer is generally no. But some HOAs and retirement communities in the USA are said to have enforceable no-children rules. So once the child is born there's a problem.

Can you evict a pregnant woman?

I was advised by an acquaintance not to rent to a particular couple as the female in the couple was pregnant. They said in the event that they get behind on the rent you cannot evict a pregnant woman..... Is that true? From what I have read it only appears that you cannot evict a woman for being pregnant, which is understandable!

How do I find pet-friendly HUD/section 8 housing in my area, and what will it cost?

There are a few things about your comments that might need clearing up somewhat.

Section 8 is set up for families that are having financial difficulties in finding suitable places to live. This does not include room mates. The only individuals allowed to reside in a Section 8 rental are those listed on the original application. This would preclude roommates, boyfriends/girlfriends etc.

The income you provide will be the only income considered, not your parents since they would not be on the application nor their social security number.

You might have a problem with the dog. I am not versed as to how Section 8 handle dogs and other pets, therefore you would have to inquire of this at the time of your application. Normally failure to admit having pets might be cause for immediate eviction on the part of the landlord and possibly from the Section 8 program.

If you are depending on a room mate to make a family then this would indicate you do not have children, since this is the situation you might not be qualified for the section 8 program. Make a call to be sure, however, the section program is set up for families with financial difficulties.

Why are you required to move out of your parents home?

I hope this has been of some benefit to you, good luck.

"FIGHT ON"

Can an 18 year old apply for subsidized (section 8) housing?

No, you do not qualify for Sec 8. Top priority for Sec 8 is the elderly & disabled, those who are unable to work any longer and have nothing but their Social Security. Next comes those who are either elderly or disabled. Then comes those single parents with minor children (usually in some program to get them off welfare). Waiting lists are long and growing. A 5-year waiting list is common. One city recently was reported in the news as having an 8-year wait for Sec 8.

You are young, healthy, working, and need to take care of yourself. Either move back home with your parents until you finish high school, or rent a room while you finish school and work.

BTW, you do not want to live in Sec 8 housing or some of the neighborhoods where Sec 8 housing is located. Yuck!

How can i get low income housing fast?

If you are homeless the shelters, like the Salvation Army, can get you on the list, but you still have to wait your turn.

How long can you typically go without paying your apartment rent if you got a 3 days notice to pay the rent or get out?

I assure you that not paying your rent is one of the worst decisions that you can make. Your life will not be the same after an eviction. It can be a very traumatic experience.Every state is going to have slightly different eviction laws but here in Ohio my company has a very large rental portfolio in the Cleveland area and this is how we handle tenants who do not pay rent.Rent is due on the 1st.Rent is late on the 2nd.We call tenants 3x day from the 5th through the 10th.We put up 3 day notices on the 10th.After the 3 day notices we file for eviction. Once we file we will no longer accept rent. At this point the non paying tenant can't pay or get out of the legal ramifications of their actions. We win the court eviction and get a write to regain possession of the property. The eviction remains on your record for life. It will be incredibly hard if not impossible to find another landlord willing to rent to you.We send in the bailiffs (guns drawn) to the home. If you do not open the door they kick it in and forcibly remove any occupants living in the home.Everything that the tenant owns is placed on the curb by a moving crew. They can clear out an entire home in about 2 hours. They are not vary delicate with your possessions. Everything stays on the curb until 5pm. Scrappers and thieves usually come by and steal anything of value. At 5pm we bring a dump truck and load up everything that is left and take it to storage. After 30 days in storage we take it to the dump. After all of the above a non paying tenant can also expect the following to happen. We take you back to court and sue you for back rent, legal costs and damages. We garnish your wages until all debts are paid off.As you can gather from everything above being evicted is a terrible experience that is 100% preventable by you. Don't be stupid, pay your rent or move out of your landlord's property you are only hurting yourself if you don't.For more information on evictions take a look at the LIVE video of one of my company’s evictions below.Have more Real Estate related questions?
