Can I Bleach My Hair If I Am Allergic To Hair Dye

Can I have an allergic reaction to Splat! hair bleach?

I have bought Splat hair dye and I want to dye my hair aqua blue. Ive never bleached my hair before and I am afraid of having an allergic reaction more than anything. What are some signs of an allergic reaction to hair bleach? Since I'm so afraid of it, is there any way I can use something else to bleach my hair besides real bleach at home? I can't go to a stylist and get it done, cause of $. But I'm extremely afraid of having a reaction. Im only going to bleach it once and I want to know the possible things that could occur if I do happen to have an allergic reaction or how to determine if i will have one (Probably impossible xD) Looking for answers from people with past experience please.

Im a very allergic person, about to dip dye my hair. How to make sure I'm not going to have a bad reaction?

Okay so tonight me and my friends are going to dip dye our hair. We're going to first bleach the ends so that we can get the brightest affect of the colors and then were going to go ahead and dye the bleached part with different colors. I'm excited but I'm nervous because I'm allergic to everything basically. Pollen, moss, dogs, cats, grass, blah blah blah I could go on for days. So I was wondering if I just dye the tips of my hair and I don't touch it to my skin and won't even be close to my scalp will I be okay? There's a big chance that I'm not allergic, I'm most likely not. But I'm just being an anxiety freak and thinking Im gonna bleach my hair and then die haha. Let me know :) thank you.

Hair bleach & severe allergic reaction. Alternatives?

I have been bleaching my hair since I was 16 years old. I am now 24. Never had a problem with it, every now and then it would cause me to itch. I just thought I was itchy because particles of bleach felt crumbled onto my skin and didn't think anything of it. Little did I know this was just a reaction worsening over time. Last night I had bleached my roots like normal... My hands itched at first and I ignored it... My face started to feel extremely tight & when I looked in the mirror it looked swollen a tad. I could tell because my lips looks different. My face was beat red as if I had a sunburn... I then took my pants off because my legs started to itch... When I took my pants off the backs of my legs had hives all over them surrounded by patches of red rash. So I got my mom and told her and showed her. Then the hives spread to my back, arms, rest of my legs and neck. It was terrifying! I started to feel dizzy and light headed followed by nausea. I finally washed my hair bleach out hoping my hair wasn't orange since I didn't leave it in very long and had to sit down in the shower while washing my hair out. I couldn't stand for long periods of time without feeling like I was passing out. I took Benadryl and it made the hives disappear and the swelling go way down.

I do NOT like any other hair color as I have been bleaching my hair platinum for 8 years or so and this color is the color I like. I looked online and it says you can develop an allergic reaction over time if bleaching a lot etc. Apparently that has happened to me...

What do I do now? Is there any alternative to keeping my hair color? I wondered if I went to a salon and had them professionally do it WITHOUT touching my scalp, would it be okay? I know it sounds ridiculous but I have cried over this. I don't want any other hair color but this one as I have had it for years. When doing my own hair I always applied it to the scalp. I'm wondering if I do not touch the scalp would it be okay?

:(

Can you suddenly become allergic to hair bleach, even though you havent had an allergic reaction in the past?

I have always coloured and highlighted my hair in the past with no problems. This time i bleached my hair twice in the last month, cos it came out too orangey the first time. The second time i decided to bleach a bigger chunk of hair on both sides of my head. I kept the bleach away from my scalp. I didnt feel anything during the process but after i rinsed it out, my right ear went very hot and red and was swollen. It went down quickly after taking an antihistamine tablet. Was that just a one off? My mate tells me i could have just gotten bleach on my ear without realising. Was that an allergic reaction? (cos it was just the ONE ear that was affected) I am worried now cos i was thinking of dying my hair to a natural blonde, (with an ammonia free dye) cos the bleach looks so fake, and now i am too scared, yet hate the way my hair looks! Please help.....sorry to have rattled on....

Can hair bleach cause rashes?

I got my hair bleached about 3 weeks ago and now i am broke out on the arms and hands with a red rash. The rash first appeared on my face about 6 days after the bleaching. But now it has worked it's way down to my arms and hands. My hair is now in need of another bleaching but i am afraid to do it because I'm not sure if I'm gonna break out from it again. Please help me. Does anyone know if hair bleach causes rashes?
