Can I Bleach/lighten My Hair If I Dyed It Dark Brown Or Black

Do you have to bleach brown hair to dye it black?

no you don't have to lighten your hair to color it black since black is darker. but if you decide to change it to a lighter shade after you color it black you need to stip the black out first.

Can you dye your brown hair black without bleach?

You wouldn't use bleach to darken your hair. A 10 (or less) volume developer is for depositing colour on the shaft of hair only. No colour lift. You can colour your brown hair black fairly easy. If using store brand, loo for the word neutral or natural in the colours name if you are not wanting undertone of red or blue. They have toner in them if they say neutral or natural. Schwarzkopf has a beautiful line that's affordable in store product. Intense black is name of one, it's a “deep pigment” colour that has had great reviews.

Can hydrogen peroxide lighten dyed dark brown/almost black hair?

I dyed my hair a very dark brown, practicly black, color and I'm sick of it, cause I've had this color for over 7 years now...anyway, could hydrogen peroxide lighten it a LITTLE BIT atleast? I'm not looking to go blonde or anything, just a shade or two lighter? :)

thanks

How do I dye my black hair brown without bleaching?

This depends on the level of brown you are going for. If your hair color is black naturally or artificially, also makes a difference. Let's say it's natural. It is possible to lift your black hair to a medium/dark brown. Without bleach it's possible to lift your color about 3 levels. You would need to use 12% or 40 volume developer with your color. This way you stand the best chance of getting as light as possible without the help of bleach.

I dyed my hair black from blonde, and I hate it. How can I lighten it up without bleaching my hair again?

I had this same problem.  I've been colouring my hair black for the past year or so but wanted to go back to blonde (my natural hair colour).  But I did not want to a) fry my hair and b) walk around with an orange head!So what I did is this:First step: I went to the hairdresser to add some highlights to my black hair.  The highlights came out a somewhat "goldie" colour and simply lifted the black a bit, yet it did not look too intense, especially after a few washes (as it would have if I bleached my whole head).  So I could still go out in society without looking like a clown.  LOL!  Second step: I waited 3-4 weeks (to give my hair time to recover)Third step: After 3 weeks I put hair colour remover to my hair (NOT the type which has peroxide in it - the type which only removes hair colour).  I don't think the product matters that much - as long as it does not contain peroxide.  Also, go for one that says maximum strength.  The colour remover made a big difference and lightened the black areas to a golden brown colour, while the highlights remained in tact.  So at the moment I'm not yet fully blonde but I now have golden brown hair colour with highlights.  My next step is to wait another 2-3  weeks and then add some more colour remover (or, alternatively, go back to the hairdresser and add some more highlights) to lighten it up even more. The reason I did the highlights first was because the colour remover does have the effect of giving your hair a slightly orangey tone.  But that is counteracted by the highlights (which stays in tact even after using the colour remover).  I also added some toner to my hair to counteract the orange.I think no matter what you do, if you want to lighten your hair from black, you will end up with orange/golden tones so the key is to change it mildly, step by step so that it won't look too intense.

I have black hair and I want to dye it dark red without using bleach. How can I make the dark red stand out in my hair?

Is your hair naturally dark brown to black? Or are we talking about colouring over coloured hair? You don't need bleach to go red. Especially if you are doing dark red tones.Make sure you use a cream colour not gel. You have the darkest hair and cream works best. Do you have any grey hair? Using an overall colour will turn the grey a lighter red, which will look like highlights. You will be dark because you are not wanting to lift the level and lighten your hair. Adding red will be beautiful in different lights. You have several options to choose from.Depending on the level of developer you use, you can go up to 3 levels lighter using a 40 volume developer. If you have any questions please ask…

Can you bleach dyed hair? If so, how?

Absolutely you can! It just takes a little more caution than bleaching virgin hair.I recently bleached my hair from bright red to very light blonde, and it turned out just fine. It kinda depends on what colour your hair was dyed (for example black and dark browns are harder to get out,) but here’s a general overview:I went to Sally Beauty Supply and purchased Prismlites Blue toned Bleach, 30 volume developer (creme, not liquid [personal preference]) and a shiny new tint brush. (But I’m no professional. Use caution and commonsense…I ain’t liable for your hair.)Since I was doing more of a balayage-highlighting technique, I didn’t get within a couple inches of my roots, so that was one less thing to worry about.I sectioned my hair carefully, and as soon as I began applying the bleach I worked quickly to pull it through evenly (in the places i wanted). I started timing immediately and actually stopped halfway through bleaching to rinse the bottom section, so it wouldn’t overprocess.Once your hair is a pale yellow at the lightest, (mine had a teeny bit of orange in places,) you MUST wash the bleach out or face all the hair catastrophes I’m sure you’ve heard about. If your hair was really dark, you might want to stop while still orange (or once the time suggestion on the bleach is up,) because it’s better to go back later and re-bleach then to fry it trying to go super light in one day. After that, shampoo, tone if you want, or wait and dye it. Good luck!Oh, and don’t freak out when it’s still wet. My hair looked bright yellow-orange when I was fresh out of the shower, but once it dried it looked much blonder and better. First appearances can be deceiving!

Bleach bath on my dyed black hair?

Usually, a 'Bleach Bath' is a lightening mixture that is diluted with shampoo, conditioner or water and applied like shampoo.

Sometimes the hair is wet before applying a lightening mixture and worked through like shampoo - This has the effect of reducing / controlling the lightening effect so it can remove ONLY the amount of color desired and keeps the hair in good condition.

In your case, he is probably trying to get the hair to one EVEN shade before applying other services.

It will lift the color to a (Hopefully) cool shade of brown.

It sounds like they know what they're doing and trying to give the best result with the least amount of damage.

Good-Luck!!

If i dye my hair black then dye it red ?

It probably wont come out even.. its difficult to dye hair after its been dyed black. Usually black takes a while to fade, but if you buy a cheap brand then it will fade faster and be easier to dye red. So it all depends really.
