Can I Build A Car With $1000

Cheapest rally platform car to build on for under 1000$?

If you're going to invest in building a rally car, do you really want to spend a measly $1000 or less?
Pay a bit more and buy yourself a decent, rust free car. A 90s Subaru Liberty or Celica, or even a Lancer are all a good starting point.

How can a 18 year old buy a car if they have no credit ?

haha i have the same problem, but i want a smart fortwo passion, im 17 and will be 18 the start of December.

My 21 year old bro gave me a tip to start getting credit.

the day you turn 18 buy a cell phone under your name that has a 2 year contract! make the payments on time, and that is the start to your credit!

next thing when you turn 18 is get a credit card with the bank you have, don't go get a "special" card, its a hoax! get a max of a $500 limit on it! use it, and pay it off, most cards get you points that you can get free stuff from, including gas cards! WOOT! HAHA

wait a few months until your credit score get to be around 700, then go try to see if your bank will work with you on a loan for a new car. go early to the bank, sit down, and talk with someone and see if you can find out early how much credit you would need for the price your looking at!

oh, and NEVER, NEVER tell a car dealership person what your $ "LIMIT" is...they take advantage over you with that, because they will ask!

hope i helped! I know how exited you are!

Best way for an 18 year old to build credit?

I'm eighteen years and I live in New Hampshire. Since turning eighteen, I have gotten my own job and checking account. The thing is I really need to buy a car and get my license, but making minimum wage and helping pay bills and things at home, there's no way I can make a lump some payment of $1000+ for a decent car. The only way to be able to set up payments on a car is to have credit, but I don't, and I don't have anyone that could co sign. The only way I know to get credit is by using a credit card, so I applied for a credit card at the bank I do business with, but they denied me because they couldn't verify my identity because I don't have any previous credit.

What could I do to build credit?

Should I finance a car just to build credit? or cash?

I think the type of loan tudorjason was talking about is called a share secured loan. You put the money up as collateral yourself and the institution locks it into your account and gives you the same amount but instead of paying high interest, you technically pay yourself back.

I would finance the vehicle if you plan to purchase a home some time within that loan period. You need at least 3 pieces of active credit to get a mortgage.

Best car sound system for about $1000?

w/o super specifics, here's some info to ponder
new stereo- whatever u like, most new ones have mp3 connection and/or USB.
get good front component set on speakers- amp them, look for 75w RMS and up in continuous power.
Ever hear cars with all bass? Sounds uneven and horrible with no mids & highs,
forget rear speakers, keep stock.
subs- 1 15", 1 12" or 2 10"s will rock.
I think a single L& solobaric, JL w3, RE audio SEX series, or XXX, Rockford T series, Boston Acoustics G5 (sq), MTX, CDT's, Image Dynamics Max series.

I make 800 a month, can i afford to buy a used car?

In short, no...

Here's why: A Honda Civic, to be priced at $5,300, would be a pretty old vehicle, with very high miles. Most Lenders don't like to finance cars over 100,000 miles, no matter what the make or model. In addition, after 4-5 years, you won't get 60 months, and most likely, you won't get 48 months either. for a 2001 or 2002 Civic, you will most likely get financed for 30-36 months> What does this mean to you? A $5,300 car, minus your $1,000 down, plus tax ($344 - estimated at 8%), plus title and license (estimated at $450), will cost you $5,094. At 12.95% interest (first time buyer), you're looking to pay around $156 per month (if you can get approved).

Here's your problem: You need to carry full coverage insurance while you're financing your car. At 19, you're looking at no less than $250 per month. You're 19, and the insurance company knows that the reason you have no tickets or accidents is becasue you have no experience as a driver. The only thing that will signicantly reduce your insurance cost is turning 25. Now, you need to put gas in your car, so let's estimate another $250 per month (national average). You need to consider incidentals (tires, oil changes, maintenance and upkeep) for a 12-13 year old car, so let's estimate 100 a month. Just on your car, you've spent $756 of your $800 monthly income. If you can can live on the $44 left over every month, for the next three years, then more power to you. However, you're one major issue from losing your car, for the next three years. At this rate, with your current job, saving every penny you have left over, after your car is paid off, you will have saved $1,584. Rather than trying to finance a car, why not save $1,000-$2,000, buy a beater, put liability insurance on it, and drive it until the wheels fall off? Using the same figures for gas and upkeep, and figuring liability insurance at $80 per month, you'd have an additional $370 per month, and could save $13,320 over 36 months (the time it would take you to pay off the Civic).

There's a big difference in being able to pay for a car, and being able to afford a car. You can't afford to finance any car with your income.

Sorry it's not what you wanted to hear. Good luck...

Fastest or "fun" car for $1000?

In your limited price range, don't worry about the model of car, be more concerned with the condition it's in. Fuel line leaks can set your car afire. Broken mirrors are police bait as are broken tail lights etc.

A lot of the cars you are looking at will be expensive to insure at your age.

If you can, get someone who really knows cars, is a professional inspector, or have a good shop look it over. I did that when I bought an old Nova for $2K. It was sitting on the lot because it had 4 doors.

It was fun to watch the inspector go from doubt to surprise to being impressed. He also wrote down everything he saw wrong with the car. The car was on the lot of a Saturn dealer, so they couldn't go down in price, but they did end up making every repair that the inspector flagged. It was a sweet fun car.

Would you pay 1000 dollars on your car stereo?

You would barely get started with a 1000 dollars! I’ve put around £2500 in to a system in the past but that was for big bass and that’s probably considered average.Sound quality systems can still work out to be expensive. The key is to really do your research, particularly on forums. For sound quality older models of amplifiers seem to be favoured a lot and are treated like collectors items. The main things you need to consider are:Head unit - This is the source of your sound, needs to be absolutely pristine. A head unit is not just a CD player. It has huge amounts of signal processing going on. Don’t be deceived by how it looks.Front speakers - It’s essential you go for the best front stage you can buy. Most in car sound quality enthusiasts only go with front speakers. Rear speakers are not necessary at all and considered mostly a waste. It seems odd at first but once you get used to it, you’ll understand and agree rear speakers are a waste.Subwoofer - You need a subwoofer to hit the low notes smoothly and musically. Again go with the best sound quality subwoofer you can get. It’s not all about big power. It needs to go well with your front stage.Amplifier - You need an amplifier that has very good sound qualitySound Deadening - The car is a big hollow shell which vibrates sound everywhere causing panels to ring etc. The sound in the car you either want it in your ears or it should be absorbed, i.e. not causing panels to shake/ring. This will greatly improve quality and loudness.

How can i add horsepower to my 95 camaro z28?

You can install a new intake manifold, a cat back low restriction exhaust system and a good cam, lifters and timing chain.

This will push the limit of the $1,000

I would go with a company like Edelbrock because they have packages that they engineered to match.
If you put unmatched equipment on you can loose power instead of gaining it.

Note to chevyraceman_383
There is a $1,000 limit on this build. your build will double that just for the Borla exhaust.
