In Michigan you should be able to purchase a rifle even if you have a misdemeanor warrant. That being said, some dealers will refuse to sell to you when that information comes back on your background check. Most won't have a problem selling you a rifle.

This is not uncommon, and has more to do with Bass Pro than you. The background check system checks buyers from some dealers more closely that other dealers. In the case of Bass Pro, they as a company have had more problems than other dealers with sales persons and problems with the 4473 form. This affects how closely they check the records. Dealers with few if any problems get a lot fewer delays on 4473 checks. Source: I have seen this with several people. They get delayed every time from some stores, and approved without delay at other stores. Some of these people are licensed collectors, the delays still occur.
