Hair bleaching from dirty blonde to pastel/lilac... Help?

Okay. So my hair is dirty blonde:

With dipped black tips. You cannot see it in the picture but you get the idea. The black tips are about 6 in and my hair is about two feet from the roots. I want to achieve this:

while keeping my black tips. I also will only be able to keep this for three months so I want to be able to return to my original color. How can I do this without damaging it and keeping the roots? Detailed instructions and brand recommendations would be much appreciated!! Thank you so much!! ^o^
P.s. Oh my god. That picture makes my hair look green and me look twelve. My dorm room is yellow so the light just bounces off and eats everything and I am 16... Yes, good. Just for the record.

I am planning to dye my hair purple after bleaching it. Should I use a toner?

*sigh*This trend of using bleach and toner for any and every color of hair dye is sad.No, you don’t need toner. Toner is not a magic fix or cure all for a poor bleach job.Add in that most toners have a purple base to counteract the yellow in hair after bleaching, and you are simply using products you don’t need if you are also dyeing it purple. Or if you use a toning bleach that has a violet base, yes, such exists. And depending on the shade of purple and brand, you may not even need to bleach a lot(or at all).If you are planning this, make sure you get the right products. The right developer, the right bleach, the right dye. The quality and type of product matter.

Is it possible to dye my dark hair purple without bleach?

It depends on a few different factors. How dark is your hair?  If it is natural black, no, you can't really have purple unless you bleach. Some shades of dark browns though you can get something from a purple tint to a dark black/purple depending on the starting shade and dye used. How healthy/porous is your hair?  Healthy, silky hair will not hold the dye as well as porous or damaged hair. Again depending on the brand of dye, it could also damage your hair more.Is your hair dark because of a dye?  Naturally dark hair is more likely to take the tint/color than hair that was dyed a dark color. What brand of dye are you thinking of using?  Some dyes are intensely pigmented enough to tint or color unbleached hair. Others simply won't work well without bleaching. What shade of purple are you hoping to achieve? Lavender and other pastel tones require bleaching it to a white blonde. Darker purples require far less bleaching before hand (Sometimes just enough to "break" the hair open so it can accept dye), and may not require bleaching at all. Again it would depend on the answers to the above questions.Your best bet, if you are unsure is to find a picture of the purple you want, and find a stylist that is FAMILIAR with dying hair such colors. Not all colorists are trained or knowledgeable about rainbow colored hair or the dyes to achieve such. With a skilled colorist you can have a better chance of getting the results you want.

How do I dye my hair purple without bleach?

There are two things to consider when coloring hair, the level you want to achieve (light vs dark) and the tone you want to achieve. The lighter the level of the hair is, the better your desired tone will show. If you just wanted a purple shine to your hair, you can put temporary purple dye over it. If you want your hair to be grape bubblegum purple, you will need to get rid of existing pigments in your hair before putting your desired purple tones over it. Using some sort of lightener is the only way to remove natural pigment from the hair. Permanent hair color uses a hydrogen peroxide developer to first, lighten the hair and second, activate the pigments in the dye. You could get a purple toned permanent hairdye and use a 40 volume developer, although a 40 volume developer will only lighten the hair 3-4 shades and, depending what level your hair starts out, can leave your hair with unwanted orange or red tones. 40 volume developer is extremely hard on the hair and is comparable damage-wise to bleaching with a 20 volume developer. Unless your hair is already light you will need to lighten it somehow, otherwise the tone won't show through over the natural pigment. All in all, getting a vibrant purple is unlikely without first lightening the hair and the most efficient way to lighten the hair is with bleach.

How do I dye my hair lilac?

My hair is currently pink/orange after I made the mistake of using the Splat Lusty Lavender hair dye kit about a month ago. I want it to be a pastel lilac color. My hair is surprisingly healthy, I just need to know how to do it properly. Brand recommendations would be great, as well as advice on how to achieve the pastel look rather than vibrant look & how to bleach my hair out to a white-blonde (I left the bleach in for 80 minutes when it recommended 60, my hair turned platinum blonde for a streak by my part while everything else was orange. I started with my ends, then folded it into saran wrap and applied heat).
Thank you so much for all your help!

Retouching purple hair?

about a month ago I dye the ends of my hair purple (ombre hair ).
My hair is dark brown so I needed to bleach it. The purple is fading, i really like how its turning because is like purple/lilac/silver, but I really want that bright purple again or maybe a lilac color.

So do i have to rebleach the ends again since the ends are mostly still purple or would it be ok to dye my hair without bleach.

btw. when they bleach my hair, it turned into a blonde more like orange

How to get lilac hair from faded mint hair?

Hey, so recently I dyed my hair a beautiful mint color but it's starting to fade. As of right now my tips are pretty white/minty and the roots are pretty true to a mint color. I want to go to lilac but I don't want to re-bleach my hair (Btw I did bleach my hair 3 times and ran a toner through it so it was very VERY light in color with barely any yellow tones) I'm thinking about just putting the mixture on since my ends are pretty light but I'm not sure. Say if the lilac overlaps the mint, would it be an ugly color? Please help, idk what to do!

Can I dye my dirty blonde hair pastel or a lighter color without using bleach?

For it to go back to your natural color you would just have to put the direct pastel color over it. But once you put color on your hair it does change it. So I can't say it will completely go back to your natural color. Also because you are dirty blonde the pastel will not show the way you are probably thinking. To get the pastel look you do need to be pretty if not very blonde. So what do we do now? We have 3 options:1. If you have heard of chalking your hair then you can do this. There are plenty of tutorials on YouTube about putting chalk on your hair to get it to turn to a different color and it will wash out. There is a certain chalk and way to do it so I suggest looking it up.2. If you really want it pastel have your hairstylist match your natural color before you lighten it. Then have her write it in her client notes AND you write down the color formula just in case. Lighteners have come such a long way and we can lighten hair causing minimal damage with it. But if you are still worried about lightener, tell your stylist about this professional color called scruples. It is a German made product that automatically correct the undertones of the hair and causes minimal damage. There is the blazing 12v which is a gel and I only suggest this for high lights, or there is their hypnotic line which is cream. I suggest hypnotic 9av, because when it get to the desired lightness it stops processing. This way you don't over process. Then she can do her magic with pastels. This product is expensive so I would assume they may charge you more. 3. Have her balayage lighten your hair leaving your natural color as a shadow root so when your hair grows out you won't have roots!

Going from lilac/ light purple hair back to platinum?

Hi so i always get my hair bleached or do it myself to a bleach blonde color (my aunt is a hair dresser and taught me how to the safest way), and i recently dyed my hair a semi-permanent lilac or light purple hair just for fun. But i want to go back to my all blonde soon. My aunt is out of the country so i cannot ask her and i was wondering do i just bleach over it?? or do i have to take the lilac out first? Then, what toner do you recommend from sallys for a platinum/ silver color for the blonde. i use purple shampoo but i mean just for toning right after. By the way, im 17 but my mom will be helping me and such. Thank you so much!
