Can I Get My Gpa Up In A Year

How can I raise my GPA senior year?

The first semester senior grades DO matter in the college application process, and will definitely affect your GPA. Make all A's. You need it.

Maybe you can go talk to your old teachers and argue your grade, make a case that you deserved to get a better grade... thats all i can think of sorry

I got a 1.6 gpa my senior year can i get it to a 2.0 by the end of the year?

Yeah but you'd have to get pretty much straight A's, maybe one B.

If you take honors classes, you get 5 points for an A and 4 points for a B and so on. If you feel like working really hard you could take AP classes and get 6 points for an A. Honors or AP might make it a little easier.

How to bring my GPA up my senior year?

okay yeah i know senior year wtf but my gpa is extremely crappy and I'm not blaming anyone but myself for settling for low grades barely passing and all and I didnt get it till this my junior year that GPA is really important because in the school i attend now the basically pick out the kids you know the smart kids honors get all the help and us regular joe's no one really cares about you know so you're going to have to really dig into things to find out whats this and that and what can I do to help myself and all

I'm hoping/praying and studying my butt off for a good grade on my SAT/ASAP cos i'm taking all the test that are offered to me for some good grades.

I really want to get into clemson[sc] and I just looked at their profile and only 1% of the people in there get in with a 2.5 GPA and mines isnt even a 2.0 :[ i suck alot i know but is there anything else i can do to get my GPA up? i've been hearing about taking college classes to get it up but i'm going to have to really look into it and all because no one tells us anything at this crappy ol school -sigh-

please help dont need any NON POSITIVE attitude or down talking for sucking

Can you raise your GPA by 1.6 in a year?

Let's assume you earned that 1.8 GPA over three equal credit years and that this remaining year is also equal credit. In other words, each year is 1/4 of your GPA and you have one year remaining to increase it.

((1.8 * 3) + (4.0 * 1)) / 4 = highest possible GPA
((5.4) + (4.0)) / 4 = highest possible GPA
9.4 / 4 = 2.35

IF you get ALL A's this year, you finish with a 2.35

What GPA would you need in order to reach a 3.6?

3.6 = ((1.8 * 3) + (x * 1) /4 [solve for x]
3.6 = (5.4 + (x * 1)) /4
3.6 = (5.4 + x) /4
3.6 * 4 = 5.4 + x)
14.4 = 5.4 + x
14.4 - 5.4 = x
9 = x

IF you could earn a GPA of 9.0 then you could raise your GPA to 3.6 in this year.

So, No - your target is not achievable or realistic. You may ignore all of the people who tell you "anything is possible if you try hard enough" because they are ignoring the absolutes of mathematics.

Your only hope for that college admission target is a year of community college with a high GPA that would negate your HS record entirely.

PS: your present GPA is validated by that ACT score. There's no indication here that you should be targeting a goal of either a 3.6 GPA or a 35 ACT. Unrealistic goals do nothing but set you up for failure - make some goal targets that are reasonable and achievable.

Bad GPA my freshman year, can I start over?

Assuming you are already in college and looking to transfer to another college:

You can repeat a class but the repeated class and the first class remains on your transcript. Basically you are wasting your time repeating the class as long as you made the minimum grade required for your major. You are a freshmen and will be able to bring that GPA up within your sophomore year. With a bachelor's degree, it doesn't matter what your GPA is as long as you are not planning to go on with grad school. Even so, if you make a decision to repeat classes that you don't have to, save that decision for closer to your senior year when you can have more grades to base that decision on.

If you're in high school:

The same theory kind of applies. Once again, if you're a freshmen, you have 3 more years of grades to average in. Way too soon to make this decision.

In either case:

Just apply yourself and try your hardest. That is all you can ever do. Cover the essentials, paying attention in class, doing homework, studying for test for a while and then gradually increase your effort so you don't burn out! Good Luck :)

How high can I raise my GPA from a 2.7 going into my junior year?

Assuming you take the same number of credits in your junior and senior years as you did during your freshman and sophomore years, then you could get to a 3.35 GPA if you got a 4.0 in all of your remaining 4 semesters.If you take more credits in the final 2 years than you first 2 years, then slightly higher than 3.35 (but not much), and if you take fewer credits in your last two years, then somewhat lower than 3.35.The way to calculate your GPA is to do the following: for each class, multiply the number of credits by the grade value using the scale belowA+ or A = 4.0A- = 3.67B+ = 3.33B = 3.0B- = 2.67C+ = 2.33C = 2.0….F = 0Then add all the results and divide by the total number of classes to get your GPA. For example, consider if you took 15 credits in one semester (5 classes, 3 credits each) and you got an A, an A-, 2 Bs, and a B-. Your GPA would be calculated as follows:1 A = 4.0 x 3 =121 A- = 3.67 x 3 = 112 Bs = 3.0 x 6 = 181 B- = 2.67 x 3 = 8Then add each of these up, (12+11+18+8)=49. Then divide by the total number of credits, 15, to give 49/15 = 3.27.Do this for all classes you've taken across all semesters and you get your cumulative GPA.

Is it possible to raise my GPA to a 3.5 in one year?

EDIT:
you provided way to little information, so Ill assume your entering 12th grade

summary of possible gpas:
4classes/semester: 3.7563
6classes/semester: 3.6625
8classes/semester: 3.616

If I understand correctly, you can improve 4 grades, if for full credit you can recieve an additional 9 points on your gpa "score" rather than average
A=4
b=3
c=2
d=1
f=you know.....

anyways if you have a 3.3, you have around 79 total points. If you bring these four grades up to an A, you'll have an additional 9 points-plus the 8 classes youll take this year you can actually bring your GPA up to
(3.3 * 24 (the number of classes you'd have taken untill senior year on a block schedule)=79.2)
(79.2 + 9) where 9 is the points you can add if you fix your four grades for full credit
(89.2+32) where 32 is the number of gpa points for 8 classes passed with an A)
(121.2/32) where 32 is the number of classes taken total- you could get up to a possible:
3.7563
just dont slack off and ...well with a similar formula if you were taken 6 classes a semester.... you could get up to a
3.4125
is that right wtf?
3.6625 sorry, thats right
and finally 8 classes a semester would be:
3.616
So mathmatically its absolutley possible- so now its a question of will!
I will not calculate said number of Bs and Said number of As for your final year because I expect all As from you...yes thats right and Im not even asian.
this took me 20 minutes to figure out...so I should like get a best answer or something Im serious guys.....
anyways GOOD LUCK!

Btw, if you were taken 50 classes a semester you would have a 3.4975 so pretty much anything onward of 40 classes and your fked....with a u.

Screwed up freshman year, how can I get my GPA up?

First, a 3.0 overall will get you into almost any college in the country. Second, they do look at recency. If your recent grades are excellent, they will be more charitable. They usually understand a "hiccup" in the GPA due to moving, family problems, adjusting to a new school, etc. You have three more school years to show them that you are a serious student and I don't think you will have any troubles.

Can I raise my high school GPA from 2.9 to 3.5 in my senior year?

Assuming you are 0n a semester system, you have completed 6 semesters so far. With a scale of A = 4, B = 3, etc. (not including AP or other similar classes), you would need to achieve a 5.3 GPA in both semesters to raise it that high. This is not possible, and even AP classes only sometimes count as a 5.0. So no, unless my math is incorrect, it seems that it is not possible, no matter how hard you work your senior year. My math is below.High school grades, at least from my school, were based on an average of the class grades every semester. So if I had two classes in a semester, and one of them I got a B and one I got a C, my GPA for that semester would be 2.5. Then if I averaged a 3.0 next semester, my GPA in the first two semesters would be 2.75. After more semesters, it becomes harder to change your overall GPA significantly. When you multiply your 2.9 GPA by 6 semesters, an average of all of your semesters, you get 17.4 points. To achieve a 3.5 GPA over 8 semesters, you can multiply those together to find the total points you would need. That gives you 28 total points that you would need for a 3.5 GPA. The difference between 28 and 17.4 is 10.6, and divided over two semesters, you would need an GPA in your last two semesters of 5.3 each. This is not possible on any conventional grading systems. If you had 4.0 grades in your last two semesters, you could raise your GPA to 3.18.Under a trimester system and using the same method of calculations, you would still need more than a 5 point average over all three trimesters.
