i got the xbox live 12 month gold membership yesterday, today i redeemed it on one of my profiles, i accidentally deleted this profile from the xbox. but when i went to the xbox website (www.xbox.com) i signed in using my hotmail email and my account was still there, how can i get it back on the xbox? I saw this really sweet gamertag and I want it but the problem is its taken. The owner hasn't signed into the profile for almost 2 years. So my question is can Microsoft delete a gamertag that is inactive on Xbox Live?

I'm guessing I deleted my hotmail a while back maybe a couple months ago forgetting it was under my Xbox Live account. Since then everything was fine. Then my Xbox live ran out. A few days after it would ask me for my log in info and it would say "This email address isn't linked a Microsoft account. Make sure it's correct, then enter it again." It wouldn't let me redeem codes for another live membership, or see my friends list or pretty much anything under my account. I deleted the account off my console (not actually deleting it) and made a new one. I haven't used my live card yet since I want to get it on my old account but now I can't even download my old account since it says the email address I enter does not have a Microsoft I'd account. What do I do? All my achievements are gone. 2 years of hardcore gaming gone. Also my storage. I tried transferring memory that says "unknown profile" from my old account to my new account but it won't let me at all. Should I contact someone or something!

It is true that you cannot cancel a credit card from your account when there is a balance due or you are within the terms of your Xbox Live account subscription. Here's what you can do to take care of it: The outstanding balance has to be paid for and if the payment method you currently have isn't being accepted, you have to enter a new payment method AND transfer the balance to get it paid off. Usually, when folks run into the situation you have it's because they've gone on their xbox.com account and added or updated their payment information but the balance due never gets taken care of. Here's info on how to take care of it using a new payment method: Go to: https://billing.microsoft.com and log in using the Windows Live ID that's associated with your Xbox. 1. Under Your payment methods, click the payment method you want to change. 2. Under Payment method activity, click Go to payment method information. 3. Under Payment method information for this account, click Use a different payment method. 4. Click Add new credit card, and then click Next. 5. On the Confirm transfer page, confirm the balances and services you want to transfer, and then click Next. 6. Enter the information for the new payment method, and then click Save. Depending on your situation, the steps may differ but, hopefully, you get the idea. The main thing is that the current balance due has to get transferred to a viable payment method. And, as an FYI... a prepaid Xbox Live Gold card will NOT take care of a balance due.

it happen to me, but in fact i delete my account of my box before to download it. so it cant be download it with your account that make it bug, i have an answer from xbox, their servers are currently down so we have to be patient that don't mean any account have been deleted so be patient and we can hope to can play normal, soon.
