Will I lose weight just by drinking water and milk for a few days?

Sure you will, unless you're drinking so much milk that you exceed your caloric requirements (that would be quite a lot of milk).  If you're on a crash diet, you'll lose weight - a significant proportion of the weight you'll lose will be muscle and water, though.  When you do this kind of thing, you're essentially cutting weight (as one might to make weight before a boxing or MMA match), instead of permanently reducing body fat.  Cutting weight is not the way to achieve permanent weight loss - it's an extreme measure for very short-term results that absolutely will not last - as soon as you go back to eating normal food, you'll gain it back.  This milk/water diet is not the best way to cut weight - it's nutritionally deficient.Really, if you want to be both fit and slimmer, we're back to good old diet and exercise - lifestyle adjustment.  There are a hundred ways to do it.  You can talk to your doctor about which approach might be easiest for you to maintain.  (For example, if you tend toward insulin resistance, a lower carb diet might be a good approach.)  Feel free to peruse the hundreds of diet and exercise questions on Quora for more ideas, but check in with the doc if you're serious about losing weight.

Over a year ago, I water fasted for 45 days (that means: only consuming water, nothing else) starting at 165 pounds and ending at 110. I have YET to gain a single pound back.

On top of no longer being overweight, my chronic asthma that I've suffered with for the last 13 years has completely vanished. I've had 10/40 vision since I was 3 years old. My vision started improving during the fast, and about a week afterwards, I went to my optometrist for an annual visit and my vision had COMPLETELY corrected itself. After a lifetime of wearing glasses and contacts, I now have 20/20 vision without surgery or medication. My blood pressure had been high for 8 months (160/110,) but after the fast, it had stabilized at 120/80.

There are other minor things that have also improved, such as: my severe/moderate acne has vanished without ever returning, and the stretch marks on my inner thighs from my 5th grade growth spurt are completely gone.

Starvation mode is a myth. I lost about a pound of muscle during those 45 days and my metabolism is actually faster than it was before. I used to eat 1,800 calories a day to maintain 165, and now I have to eat about 2,400 calories to maintain 110.

My body did not attack and/or feed off of my organs, like most people tend to believe. In fact, my chronic IBS (5 generations of Irritable Bowel Syndrome on my mom's side of the family) is completely gone as well. I've been off ALL of my medications for over a year now.

As for you: you'd probably lose about 10-20 pounds, but only 10-15 pounds of fat (the rest being water weight and fecal matter.)

Can I lose weight by just eating crackers and drinking water?

No, you also have to exercise to lose weight, You're doing good with your diet but losing weight requires both diet and exercise. Walking or bikeriding would be good, take a bottle of cold water with you. It won't happen fast, losing weight takes time, months. Going to a gym would be a good idea, treadmills are great for losing weight. Good Luck!

The simple answer is YES. Your body is constantly burning calories, even just sitting down doing nothing (though not that much). If the only thing that you are consuming is water, then you will most certainly be burning calories, as well as ultimately burning fat.However…A week long fast is very hard for beginners. Have you tried water fasting before? I would start slow and ease into fasting. I just started fasting about 6 months ago and have lost 25 pounds as a direct result of it. You’ll most likely lose a ton of weight and feel a significant amount better in general. Now you have built up the skillset and will-power for prolonged fasts.
