Can I Tint My Windows On A Leased Car

Can I Tint my windows on a lease from Toyota?

Hey all!
Back in October I leased a 2012 Toyota Corolla LE.
the standard low mileage lease 3 years 36,000 Miles.

Can I tint the windows or will the be a violation of the lease terms?
thanks for the help!

If you have a leased car can you still tint your windows and add a sound system?

Sure. And if you decide to buy it at the end of the lease you will still own all your upgrades. If you turn it in it will go with the vehicle and there is a chance they will charge you for the things you added and the costs to return it to stock condition.

Can you tint the windows on a lease?

I'm planning to keep the car after the lease is up.
I only got a lease to keep my payments under $200 because I'm working and going to school and so I could get a new car rather than a used one.

I was wondering if it's okay to tint the windows.

Can i tint the window in a lease car?

Essentially, you're just renting a car from the dealership when you chose to lease. Just like you can't repaint an apartment unless you have permission, or have the funds to repaint the original color, it'd be wise to not tint the windows. Unless you know 100% that you'll be buying out the remainder of the car once your lease is up.

Can i put window tints on my car even though its a lease?

I wouldn't know why not, unless your lease agreement prohibits modifications. Call the dealer you leased it from.

I want to caution you on a couple of things, though. By federal law, the windshield, driver door glass, and right front door glass cannot be tinted darker than 70% light transmission.

Tinting A Leased Car?

If you are leasing a vehicle, you are allowed to make alterations to the vehicle as long as the alterations will not void the manufactures warranty. The down side is if you return the vehicle at the end of the lease, the vehicle must be returned to the factory specifications. If you don't, the leasing company has the right to charge you for any repairs necessary to return the vehicle back to those specifications. So yes, you can tint your windows, just be prepared to have the tint removed if you turn the car in at the end of your lease. The charges for those repairs tend to be excessive and extreme. As for adding value to the car, no. Nothing adds value except to the owner or a potential buyer. Those aftermarket 20 inch rims people are paying upwards of $3,000.00 for add an actual cash value of about $500.00 in the true Kelly Blue Book. The only thing you can do is "slow" your vehicles depreciation by performing all proper maintenance, and keep the mileage as low as possible, especially in a lease. Remember, cars are meant to depreciate, that is why they are not considered investments. The true value of a car is based on how well it is maintained and its working equipment.

Will tinting your windows devalue your car? Or increase value?

It will increase the value, but not much. Depends on the buyer & seller.

Yes, the window tint can be removed completely if you don't like it. I've had my 92 Honda's windows tinted since ownership. My mom bought the car used with the tinting on & we've replaced it twice in 14 years. The car's 15 years old this June & was a lease return. Car was purchased originally purchased without tint & added by the man who leased the Honda. A friend of mine who works for a dealership did some research a few years ago & found out that due to the window tint addition, the guy got a better down payment on his next lease of a newer Honda.

Don't try doing the tint yourself. It's a LOT of work & if not done right, air bubbles will make it look awful. It's better left to a professional. Mobile window tinting is just as professional as the ones in a shop. I've used both & liked the results with each one. I do suggest you shop around for the best price though. Some places have better prices than others, mobile tinters included. Depending on where you live, the best time to have the tinting done is Spring & Summer. The heat of the sun is usually a factor in setting the tint. Also, don't tint too dark. You can be pulled over & ticketed. That's happened to my brother a few times & he's had to go back & have a layer or so removed. Better to tint light than too dark.

Tinting a leased mercedes 2010?

No damages at all. Check for your local FormulaOne Dealer at http://www.formulaone.com they will tint and remove at no charge when you return the car.

Does getting tints on a leased car void the warranty?

check the contract but if you made the deal with the dealer then they might be able to do it for you without voiding it, but keep in mind it might be a lot more expensive that way
