Can I Update To Ios8 With Itunes Without Losing Data

Can I update my iPhone iOS 8 to iOS 9 without using Wifi?

Yes, but it will take a long time and use up lots of data on your plan.

How do I get my iPad 3 out of recovery mode without losing data?

Sorry to hear about your iPad. At this time, there seems to be no way to exit recovery mode in iOS 8 without performing a restore through iTunes. Unfortunately, this usually erases your personal data, but I have heard of cases where data remained intact.iOS 8 is still pretty new, so someone may discover a workaround to recovery mode in the future. For now, you must restore your iPad to continue using it. If you have not reset your device yet, your files should still be accessible. Try following these steps to recover your data before the reset: Check iTunes for a recent backup: In iTunes, go to Preferences > Devices. If there is a recent backup listed here for your iPad, you can reset now and restore from this backup. Check iCloud for an automatic backup: You may have enabled automatic backups to iCloud. If your data is available at iCloud.com, you can reset now and restore from here.If the above backups were never created, you can attempt to access the files directly from the iPad. You may not be able to recover all of your data using these methods: Try to backup with iTunes anyway: iTunes still might backup the data on your iPad (this happens sometimes in recovery mode). Connect your iPad to the computer. If iTunes detects it, look for Backups, and click "Back Up Now." Then reset the operating system and restore from this backup. If you cannot backup your iPad, do not reset it yet.Try to access the USB filesystem: If you have a Windows computer, this technique might work. Exit iTunes (make sure it isn't running in the background) and plug in your iPad. Sometimes Windows will detect the device and pop up a dialog that lets you view your files.Try commercial data recovery software: If you have no success with the above, products exist that claim to restore some files from an iPad in recovery mode. However, they may not support all apps or file types. I have no experience with these products, so you may need to search around. As a last resort, you can try visiting the Apple store if there is one in your area. They may have additional recovery tools but might charge you for the service. After you finish trying to recover your data, you must reset your iPad to continue using it. When the restore finishes and you have set up the iPad to your liking, create a backup immediately, and don't forget to make regular backups from now on :)Thanks for the A2A!

Can I update my iPhone from iOS 8.2 to 8.2 from iTunes without losing any apps and contacts?

Ios 8.2 to Ios 8.2 ? Are you alright? :p

Is any data lost during iOS 10 update?

I am assuming you are talking about the iOS 10 beta upgrade. If u upgrade your phone to the beta or the ‘test’ version of iOS 10, u wont lose your data. But, if u start experiencing problems with your phone, and say u want to downgrade, u’ll lose your data when you come back to iOS 9. Now suppose u took a backup of your phone while it was on iOS 10, u’ll be unable to restore that backup to iOS 9 as itunes doesnt support restoring backups of later iOS versions to older ones. As such, i would avoid upgrading to the beta version unless u have an ‘extra’ iPhone lying around. If u’re talking about the official release of iOS 10, i would suggest backing up your data to your computer when it is on iOS 9. Then upgrade to iOS 10. If all goes well, u’ll have the same data on ios 10 too. However, if things go south, itunes will allow you to restore the backup of iOS 9 on iOS 10. Therefore, u can be rest assured of your data safety provided u take a backup to your computer.

After update and recovery mode, itunes thinks my phone is a new device, how do I restore the backup?

I had a 4s 64gb with ios 5-something jailbroken. I just updated to 8 yesterday so I could facetime without cell service (phone is used as glorified ipod) and the phone went into recovery mode and I lost everything. ITunes thinks its a new device and I cannot restore the backup. IT even gave it a different name... the phone used to come up as "judy's iPhone" now after updating it comes up as "Judith's iPhone" and iTunes says I have never backed it up before...

How do I reset an iPad 2 without losing the current OS?

I think your perception of iOS 8 on an iPad 2 might be a tad pessimistic.Where there 8.x versions that specifically targeted iPad 2 and iPhone 4S  for performance issues?? Yes.Can the iPad be a little laggy in iOS 8.4x? Sometimes. Booting and there is lag in the slide to unlock. The point is, iOS 6 is not code signed, it is no longer supported, and your device is at risk for vector. Now you want to bring it into a public where other devices can see it. and place it on a network in an environment where people can see your device...and you haven't had security or exploit patch code for 2 years.I appreciate your need for speed, but please consider my words. I beg you.The last thing I or anyone needs is to read in the news that some young lady got her iPad compromised in a learning environment. You have successfully put your iPad in Android mode!

Quick help please: Will updating to iOS 8 delete my photos?

Yes and yes.First, you cannot upgrade to a developer release (beta version). You have to "restore" your phone using that version, which will reset your phone to factory settings. This is the reason why a backup is recommended if you want to keep your data. So, "updating" will delete all your data. Now, if you have made a backup before restoring your phone, you will be able to use that backup to get your data back.  During the setup process, iOS 8 will ask you if you would like to set it up as a new phone or restore from one of your saved backups.Personally I recommend backing up to iCloud, instead of iTunes, but both will work.  To be double safe, I would download your images and videos to your computer with iPhoto or Image Capture.UpdateAs some users have pointed out, you might try Option+Click Update (on iTunes). This process fails many times, but might work for you and getting your phone upgraded without the need to restore.
