Can I Use The Autopick Feature In My Live Draft New To Yahoo Sports

Why hasn't my autopick draft started yet? Yahoo fantasy football?

I am in the same exact boat as you. I am still waiting and the game has already kicked off. Seriously, why and how could an autodraft take up to 72 hours?

yup, still waiting.

Can a co-manager draft instead of the team owner during a live draft in Yahoo!'s Fantasy Football?

Yes they can! I've done it

What happens if one of the teams doesnt show up for Yahoo! Fantasy Football Live Draft?

If that person never logs into the draft he or she will be on autopick. Yahoo! will pick the highest rated player each round based on their own rankings for that person's roster and will make sure every position is filled. The draft order doesn't change, and Yahoo! can still only pick one player at a time for that person...just that person has no input on which players they get. It sucks for that person because they're probably going to get Ryan Mathews in the first round because Yahoo! never seems to update their rankings. If this person knows they won't be able to make the draft they should pre-rank the palyers in the draft, and Yahoo! will pick the highest rated player available each round based on that person's rankings.

What should i set my auto pick strategy for basketball???HELP?

Its a 10 man league. I have never done fantasy basketball before. I have always done football and live drafts. I know live draft is better but i didnt set the league up. I know auto draft sucks but I hope to make the best out of it with a decent auto pick strategy. plese help??

I am going to miss my fantasy football draft on yahoo. Is there any way to have a team automatically selected?

Yes you will automatically go to auto-pick if you are not there. Please tell your league commissioner if you can't make it just so he knows, its just courteous. Now, If you want to select certain positions first, wish to delete certain players or if your rankings of players differ from yahoo's in general, then you need to prerank your draft picks. These were directions I sent a new player in one of my leagues last year on how/where to do it: http://help.yahoo.com/l/us/yahoo/sports/... , I think they are still good. Unfortunately your draft picks will be selected by the computer so you are taking the next available (available being the keyword) according to yours or their rankings (whichever you have chose) when it comes to your turn during the draft. Now I understand that you may have known a lot of what I answered but in case you did not, I figured I would make it as easy as possible, not to offend. I hope somehow I answered your question. Good luck, I have had some great teams auto picked in the past but also some pretty bad ones, lol.

Do I need to learn the stats of most of the players in a sports league to properly play fantasy sports?

Yes and no.I am most familiar with fantasy football and fantasy hockey. Fantasy sports basically involve choosing (drafting) players for your fantasy team and, based on how they perform statistically that week, your fantasy team will earn points. The teams with the most points at the end of the season wins.Yes, to properly enjoy it: If you follow the sport anyway and not just because you are in a fantasy league, you will draft players by actually having an opinion on their value. You might think, “I’m going to take Player X instead of Player Y because I saw X play last year and he was great.” Or “Player Z is not being valued highly because he was injured last season, but I think he will recover fully.” Or you might just draft the player because you like them. You will also enjoy watching the sport more if you have a fantasy team. It will heighten your natural interest in the sport. No, to competently play it: If you don’t care about the sport and don’t know anything about it, the fantasy league website (e.g., Yahoo Fantasy Football, Yahoo Fantasy Football) has an auto-pick function that will make your choices for you. There is even a combination function, where for example, you can pick the first five players on your team and allow the software to auto-pick the rest. You won’t enjoy it as much, but your fantasy team will perform competently. This is a good choice if you don’t care about the sport but are being encouraged to join anyway (e.g., office pools where the organizers want more participants so they will have a bigger prize pool).

I'm new to fantasy baseball, how 's the easiest way to play?

1. Play Yahoo! fantasy baseball. Its the easist one out of the major games.

2. No such thing as imaginary $. Any money you need to spend on a league, you spend out of your pocket. Those are the plus leagues. Its 24.99 for a team, and 124.99 for a league

3. You get to chose between an autopick draft or a live draft. The autopick one will have the computer chose your guys for you. You can set a Pre-draft rankings to your likings and they will draft as close to that as they can. The live draft means you have complete control over your team/draft and you can chose whoever you want that's ava.

4. You yourself have 1 team in a league of 10/12 or how many ever teams are in that league. You are only responsible for that one team in the league.

5. Least amount of time? None really. Once your team gets drafted you can chose to be one of those managers everybody hates. That one who just gets his team and then leaves it for nothing. He doesn't change his players, pick up or drop guys, and doesn't make trade. Then you can be a middle one which does a bit of that, and does check the league a couple times a week. Then you can be a guy like me who checks his team each day and manages to take care of his team. Makes trades, watches ESPN and reads notes about each player. Its really your choice on who you want to be.

Good luck!!

What happens when you miss a fantasy football live draft on espn.com?

I am the league creator, and my espn live draft is scheduled for tonight. 1 or more people may miss the draft, what happens with their picks? I understand that an auto-pick format would kick in, but how does this work as far as selecting all the positions they will need (QB, 2RBs, 2 WRs, D/ST, etc.)? Will the auto-pick program automatically fill every position needed?
