Can My Stuffed Animal Mold

Will a wet stuffed animal mold.?

So I got this little beanie baby called a basket beanie. Its white from my aunt and I just got it yesterday so my dog had it and it smells bad so I just put it in the wash. I looked up that you should let it air dry but I also heard that if it stays wet it'll mold when I was younger. So do I let it air dry or put it in the dryer.?

How do you get rid of black mold on stuffed animals?

I'd be more concerned about my own health than the stuffies. What is it about the room that mold is growing? Washing in a machine with bleach will not kill all the mold, but will be better than detergent alone.

Also plan on cleaning everything else including the wall, improving air circulation in the room. You've been breathing that mold, lovely thought. Look here for something better than bleach......or let's say, the second step after bleach?? http://www.concrobium.com/atHome_howItWo...

How to get rid of mold on a stuffed animal?

The stuffed animal was on the ground in the basement when the basement had some flooding problems. It was in a closet for some time without realizing it got wet, so black mold grew on it. If there is a method of soaking/washing the stuffed animal in order to save it and prevent color from getting ruined, that would be GREAT. Thanks.

Can I use rice in stuffed animals?

I've already made a couple of stuffed animals (a bear and a snowman) that have dry rice in the bottom to add some weight. The rice is in the bottom of a sock that has been closed off so it won't spill out. Is that okay, or will mold or something worse grow on it?
These aren't "toys;" the outside is crochet and it is meant as a cuddly decoration, if that makes any difference?

How to clean off mold on my walls and stuffed toys?

Soak your toys in a solution of warm water with some oxygen peroxide liquid product like Vanish. Read the directions on the label on how much you should use. Leave them to soak for 2-3 hours. Then take them out and if you still see mold stains on them you can pour some undiluted of the above liquid directly on the stains. Then put them in the washing machine and wash with normal detergent at medium temperature. Dry them outside where the sun can see them.

You can use the same solution to wash the walls, scrubbing with a sponge or soft brush, or you can use a bleach solution.

Is it unhygenic to have a stuffed animal that my son sucks on?

If he will accept it, you might try teething toys or pacifiers to see if you can wean him off of sucking the stuffed dog.

I once was a large costume character - which is of course impossible to wash. The disinfect the costume, the manufacturer's instructions were to spray with a solution of 50% water / 50% vodka and then to let it completely air dry.

The laundry dryer may not be getting the stuffed dog completely dry all the way through the inside so it probably has some sort of mold/bacteria stuff that is causing the stinky smell.
