Can Naproxen And Advil Be Used Together

Can you take Advil and Midol together?

No, both are NSAID pain relievers (anti inflammitory). They basically do the same thing, so no point taking them together.

NSAIDs include ibuprofen (Advil), naproxen (Aleve), and asprin. These are also found in Midol and Excedrin.

You CAN take acedomenophen (Tylenol) at the same time though, because it is a different type of pain killer. I usually take Advil and Tylenol together, or Aleve and Tylenol together.

My personal favorite is Excedrin because it's got Tylenol and Asprin in it along with a bit of caffine, which makes it work better and helps your muscles relax more. Midol is bascially the same combination.

Since this is in Women's health, I'm assuing this is for period pain. Cramps are caused by muscle contractions in the uterus. So taking an NSAID is the best way to go because it relaxes muscles.

Can you take nexium and naproxen or other NSAIDs together?

Nexium isn't an NSAID. You can take it with any of them. I wouldn't take 2 NSAIDs together. Because they act the same way, taking 2 of them together is like overdosing on 1 of them. Best to stay at the top limit of dosing of one (for ibuprofen, it's 2400mg/24 hours, for naproxen sodium it's 1100mg/24 hours though you can temporarily use up to 1650mg/24 hrs).

Can Allegra and Naproxen be taken together?

You can take them together with no problem. One is an NSAID , the other is a second generation non-sedating antihistamine. No interaction issues of any kind including additional sedation or GI irritation.

Advil, Tylenol & Aleve together?

Are there any medical/scientific reasons that taking 1 Ibuprofen, Acetaminophen, and Naproxen together (3 pills regular strength) would cause a bad drug interaction or side effect?

--------------------------

I have a sister-in-law who takes an aspirin, tylenol & advil for her migraines (and says its no problem) and recommends it to me.

And a co-worker who says advil, tylenol & aleve are ok to take together (just not aspirin & advil because they work the same way and could be an overdose) as a hangover remedy.

Anyone heard anything at all dangerous about it?

What happens if you take naproxen and ibuprofen together?

Both belong to a class of drug called as non steroidal anti inflammatory drugs (NSAIDs), but having a bit difference in bio-availability & duration of action.Ibuprofen is recommended for mild pain to fever but Naproxen is recommended for pain and swelling associated with inflammatory joint diseases like arthritis, ankylosing spodylitis, acute gout, tendinitis and bursitis.Since both drugs belongs to NSAIDs, So some is taking it to gather it may increase the risk of side effects, like GI bleeding and stomach upset, cardiomyopathy, Kidney Failure,This combination should be avoided.

Can I take Ibuprofen and Naproxen together without any complications?

Ibuprofen and Naproxen are in the same class of drugs, NSAIDs. This means that they both work on the same receptors.Taking them together will not give you better pain relief. Instead, they will compete with each other for receptors and each drug will be less effective. So taking them together is pointless.Possible side effects from taking too much of either is stomach problems, I would assume taking both would increase that risk.

Can I take Cyclobenzaprine (10 mg) and Naproxen (500mg) together?

I see no problems, but if you still have doubts, call your pharmacist. They are so smart and helpful.

You'll get the correct answer from your pharmacist. :)
