Is creatine effective for my workout?

Right now I'm training for a a few weeks doing (mostly) body weight training exercises. I'm not working as much on muscle mass, but more on performance. Although I would like to throw on some muscle.

Ex. Push ups (knuckles, clapping)
Pull ups, chin ups
Dips
Leg raises
Crunch/other ab exercises
Run 30mins- 1hour daily
Jump rope
etc...

I was wondering if creatine would benefit me in a routine like this, or is it only helpful for when i am training in a gym with weights? Any other suggestion are appreciated.

What are good bodyweight exercises and workout plans for building muscle?

Hi Mark,

I also prefer to workout with only my bodyweight. Going to the gym just seems like such a waste, don't you think? You actually spend more time getting ready for the gym than you do actually exercise. And not even to talk about the money spent.

For those reasons have I found bodyweight exercise to be superior (and more fun).

My favorite bodyweight exercises include the burpee, the bucket drop, jump squats and the rotating plank. Here's how to do those exercises - http://www.loselovehandleshowto.com/post/the-best-bodyweight-exercises

With regards to how to set up your workout routine and the best exercises, have a look here:

I wrote an entire ebook that you can download (for free) that guides you through exactly how to setup an effective bodyweight workout, as well as which exercises to do for each body part. See the link in the source box for the free download page.

I hope that I could help.

Keep up the good work!
