Can Someone Help Me Choose A Tv/monitor

How can I use monitor as TV?

It is as simple as counting 1,2,3…Here I am gonna try to simplify the process as possible I can. Please read…Things you require:A monitor (branded one would be better. I have LCD Dell monitor 17 inch).A cable (VGA cable if the monitor supports VGA or HDMI if it supports HDMI)Set up Box (I have DishTV HD)Things to understand. If your monitor has just VGA but your HD set-up box has HDMI port, you have to purchase VGA TO HDMI converter cable. Buy it from Amazon or Flipkart. It is very cheap.Thing will be easier if both the monitor and set up box has HDMI port. Without the hassle of buying additional converter, just use HDMI cable given by monitor brand or set up box, either will do the job.In case your monitor has no HDMI cable except VGA..In that case, use the converter cable and it will work just fine. The VGA TO HDMI cable will look just like this -First of all, hook the HDMI end of the converter cable to your set up box’s HDMI socket. The other end of the cable having VGA connector can be hooked to VGA cable of your monitor. That’s it. Just power up both the monitor and set up box. Make sure dish tv’s cable is already hooked to the socket of the set up box in order to transmit the picture. You have to do something like this -Plug in VGA end of your monitor to the VGA analog of your Set up box. Just like this one -Tada!!!! Screen comes alive! For the last nearly six months, I have been using my monitor as a TV and believe me, I am tremendously satisfied. Before using it, I just confused myself more after reading so many people telling various technical mumbo jumbo saying how a monitor differs from TV, and that the former should not be used as a replacement of the latter. After using my monitor, I think I made a right decision by not following those stupid stuffs on the internet.Believe me I get fantastic picture quality from my dish tv HD set up box. Even standard channels look fine, but HD channels are superb on the screen space of monitor. Now I am planing to buy a FULL HD monitor as the one I have can support picture resolution of not less than 720P.I will never give a damn to what technically savvy guys say on the internet. So long my monitor works fine as a TV as well as monitor, I will keep killing two birds with one stone.…………………………….END NOTE: SOME PICTORIAL DETAILS CLAIMING VALIDITY OF MY ANSWERS:Hopefully, the pictures explain everything to you clearly.

How can I set up my computer monitor to be used as a tv?

I am going to college in a few days and I don't have the extra money to buy a tv. I have an extra computer monitor laying around (HP w2007), and i was wondering what is necessary to do to be able to use as a tv? I would be plugging it in with the cable wire that is already given at the dorms.

Can I play my PS4 on a computer monitor? If so what are some good monitors around 24-32 inch?

I recently bought this monitor so I could upgrade to 1440p. It has a list price of about $400 but frequently goes on sale. I got mine for $80 off two months ago.ASUS PB258Q Black 25" 5ms WQHD Frameless HDMI Widescreen LED Backlight LCD Monitor AH-IPS 350 cd/m2, 2560 x 1440, 100,000,000:1 Built-in Speakers One thing to keep in mind when buying a monitor, compared to a television, is the common lack of internal speakers. Most desktop users either have desk speakers or headphones, so manufacturers frequently skip the speakers to reduce the price. For the PS4, you need speakers. The monitor I got, it has internal speakers. And HDMI/VGA/Display Port/DVI connections, with cables all included.Edit:Immediately after posting this, I checked the lately email from newegg and found this wonderful looking monitor:ASUS VE278H Black 27" 2ms (GTG) HDMI Widescreen LED Backlight LCD Monitor 300 cd/m2 ASVR 50000000:1 (1200:1) Built-in Speakers 27" 1080p 2ms response time, internal speakers, and discounted from $300 to $170. Only has HDMI and VGA, but for a discount of $130... that's alright.

Turning my TV into a computer monitor?

Keep quality in mind if that is an issue for you. Your TV’s usual video signal is called NTSC (PAL if you live in Europe). This signal is different than the one generated by your computer. Computers use signals measured by pixels: 320x200, 320x240, 640x480, 800x600, 1024x768, 1280x1024 or 1600x1200. Most TV’s can only get about 500 lines of resolution, in computers this is like 500 vertical pixels. The video amplifiers in televisions cannot handle higher resolutions either. So when you factor these things together you are left with a maximum resolution of 640x480. This is not the worst thing in the world because you can play games and watch video in lower resolutions no problem. It’s just that you will never get close to the resolution your computer monitor will give you.

Choose General Anesthesia or Spinal Anesthesia?

Okay, I just got confirmed that I am going to have an arthroscopic surgery on my ankle today. The doc. gave me an option to choose from general or spinal anesthesia. If I choose, spinal, then I will be awake the whole time, watching the procedure on the tv screen. If I choose the general, then I will be completely knocked up and probably will be spending more time in the recovery room.
I'm currently 16 and have had surgery from my ankle injury 2 times already this year, so I've had both spinal and general anesthesia before. Except since the first surgery was long and more emergency, they knocked me out with spinal anesthesia. I didn't have any issues with headaches after the first surgery with spinal.
The thing is, I'm really interested in medical field, so I think it would be once in a life time opportunity to get to be in the operation room and observe the procedure. It wil definately grab my attention, except I'm alittle bit nervous...what do you think?

How to reset my XBox One's TV Connection to DVI (or Atuo-Select)?

I accidentally changed my TV Connection to HDMI. Can I revert it back to DVI or Auto-Select? I don't have any monitors that supports HDMI cable, except for a Laptop I have. I didn't use my laptop as the monitor since I figured it might not work. Is there any other way to do it? I don't want my father to buy another monitor since it will be a waste of money.
