Can Triple Antibiotic Ointment Be Used Inside Of The Nose

Is it bad to put triple antibiotic ointment up your nose?

You can use a nasal spray that contains 100% saline and nothing else. The saline will help heal this and prevent infection, and it will also moisturize your nose, so you're more comfortable. Here is an example of such a spray: http://www.armandhammer.com/personal-car...

Some people also use stuff like this as a moisturizer for their nose. I've never tried it, but it may be worth looking at: http://www.armandhammer.com/personal-car...

Can You Put Triple Antibiotic Ointment On A Nose Ring Piercing?

I lost my last nose ring so I had to buy some more but my nose ring hole was about closed so I had to poke it through. So can I put Triple Antibiotic Ointment On There?

Can triple antibiotic ointment be used inside of the nose?

About a week or less ago, I had a cut on the inside of bottom nostrils (where they join the center of the nose) and they were both down at the very base of the nose where I could see them. Those two cuts appear to have healed. But I keep getting this scab-like stuff in the corners of my nose that seems to harden to the skin and it hurts like a sore on both sides.

After that, I've had allergy-like symptoms. A runny nose and sometimes a bit of sneezing throughout the day. It feels like I have some type of sores further up into my nose. One side actually looks a bit swollen and you can see that the nostril on that side looks half swollen closed, but it isn't interfering with breathing and isn't massively huge. It's just noticeable by comparing the nostrils. I've seen some bleeding with my runny nose and I've seen some green phlegm, a little bit of yellow and sometimes white.

I've read that Staph Aureus can get into the nose. As another note, I work in a grocery store in the Meat Department. So I have to break down bandsaws and spray them and all utensils, equipment, the floor, etc. with a type of detergent cleaner. Sometimes a few drops can splash up onto your face. Since it averages like 45-50 degrees in there, your nose always feels runny when you're in there, no matter how warm you dress. You can't wipe it with your hands or tissue due to sanitary reasons. So occassionally, you might use your upper arm or shoulder (white meat coat) to wipe on to keep it from running down for a bit, until you can go to the restroom and blow your nose. Is it possible to get Staph from an environment like this with raw meat and such? Or would the deli detergent cleaner that we use to spray everything down with encourage some type of superbug environment?

The scabs in my nose do not seem to want to heal. I have insurance that won't cover all of it and I can't afford to go to the doctor right now. I've read that antibiotic ointment used in the nose can theoretically help clear up Staph, and that regular pill antibiotics and shots do not necessarily help much (if at all).

Is it okay to put triple antibiotic ointment on q-tips to lightly put into my nose?

Is it ok to put triple antibiotic ointment on my belly button ring to help it heal?

i dontt really know about the ointment, but i think it's unnecessary. it should be red and irritated for a few weeks, i mean you just got a piercing! it's a normal reaction. i'd recommend getting some saline (typical in eye contact solution cleaner) and some sea salt. Try to do sea salt soaks once a day (twice is ideal, though) and if you don't have time for a soak at all, just do a quick squirt of some saline and push it around. the sea salt will help it to heal and prevent from infection so it is a good way to clean and heal your navel ring. just make sure you soak your ring with warm water mixed w/ sea salt in a small medicine cup for 15 minutes and you'll be in good shape.

How safe is it to use Neosporin inside your nose?

Using a Vaseline based medication in your nose is potentially catastrophic I’ll explain. Vaseline is a petrolatum type of base. Any inhaled petrolatum product into your lungs is an excellent breeding ground for bacterial overgrowth leading to pneumonia , which we all know is very dangerous.

Silly question about triple antibiotic cream for babies....?

Can I use it on my 11.5 month old daughter? She got her first "real cut" today...not bad at ALL but just a little scratch on her face and I washed it with warm water and mild soap but can I put ointment on it? what kind?
Thankyou! ( clueless 1st time mom here...LOL )

Can I put a little triple antibiotic ointment (Neosporn) around my nose piercing?

Yes, that will definitely cause problems.

Ointments aren't meant to be used on puncture wounds (which is what piercings are). Those ointments don't kill all bacteria, and what they don't kill gets trapped inside, possibly resulting in infection. So not a good idea.

Use a sea salt soak to clean it instead.

Is triple ointment good for infected nose piercing(please really read the question)?

DO NOT put ointment on your piercing! It clogs the piercing, and actually holds the infection in your nose.

Try crushing up some asprin and mixing it with a little bit of warm water to form a paste, and then put that onto your nose for about five minutes, once or twice a day, and then wash it off with warm sea salt water. Not alcohol, not peroxide... Salt water. Clean your jewlery regulary, soak it in warm water once a day and remove all the crud that seeps out of it. And if that still doesn't work, you might want to actually go see the piercer and see what they tell you.

How do i heal a cut inside my nose?

I have a cut in each nostril. They are not very large and just appeared out of the blue yesterday. They are very very painful and I am also having a lot of (sorry this is disgusting) sticky nasal discharge. Like glue sticky :( how do i get them to heal up and what could be the cause?? Thanks

Should i Put a&d ointment on my new nose piercing?

I've just got my nose pierced, but I've had a few other piercings in my time, and I know that you don't need to splash out on expensive products like H2Ocean and hydrogen peroxide.

You say that you're cleaning it with salty water, but how salty? To make the correct saline solution, take a 1/4 of a teaspoon, and mix it into a cup of pre boiled water, NOT boiling water.

I dont understand what you mean by 'the piercing is sinking into my nose.' It sounds like your nose is swelling up and the stud you have in isn't long enough. If i were you I would go and see your piercer, but in the meantime continue to soak and clean your piercing with salt water three times a day.

Hope that helped-Nina xxx
