Can You Donate Plasma With A Red Eye

Can I donate plasma if i'm overweight?

yes

I just donated plasma and now my arm is swollen and there is red line should i go to er?

this is my second time and they tried to use my left arm but she kept moving the needle and then asked for help and the other peron used my right arm just fine but my left arm is terrible its swollen and there is an ugly red line Thur the arm. is this normal for how she did my arm? or should i go to er?

I went to donate plasma and they rejected me cuz my blood pressure was too high-- what?

Crossing your legs COULD make a difference, as it might slightly pinch an artery/vein and raise the pressure in the rest of your body.

You could drink lavender/chamomile tea before going next time, that will lower your blood pressure.
Also, you could take 400 mg advil before going, it will slow the signal to your heart down some and lower the pressure.

Can I donate blood if I self injure?

--You should still be able to donate blood.

--If they notice and ask you about the scars/cuts, I can't imagine what lie you could possibly dream up that would convince them the lie is true. You can give it a lie a try, but I don't expect it would get you very far.

--It you're SURE the item is sterile, then there should be nothing wrong with your blood. You DO need to be sure that your hands are clean, that the area you're cutting is clean or you could contaminate the item, yourself/your skin, and your blood.

--Even though you use sterile items, understand: Regardless of the fact that YOU may know you use sterile items to cut, THEY don't/can't know that or simply take your word for it.

There could be some real problems or issues around this; don't be surprised if they decline to take your donation.

--If you're underage and the person who's prepping you is a nurse, understand that s/he may feel a personal or professional duty--if not have a legal duty--to report this to your parents or some other authority figure.

So, be prepared that they would probably want to confirm that you're seeing someone and getting help and not just take your word for it.

--One of the best source for answers is to call your local Red Cross and just ask--you can say you're calling for a "friend", you "heard that cutters....", or say that you have a "hypothetical question" you would like an answer to, or some such.

--If you're declined as a donor, they may have other things you CAN do: Answer office phones, file or sort papers, lick stamps, etc.

Good for you for getting help AND for wanting to give help.
