Can You Get Braces On Straight Teeth

If You have straight teeth, can you still get braces ?

Braces not only are for straightening teeth but alining the teeth so the bite is correct.
When you bring your top and bottom jaw together your teeth need to fit together properly.
Some people may appear to have straight teeth but the way their teeth make contact with each other is wrong causing other problems such as pain, clinching, grinding or breaking of teeth. These all need to be evaluated by a qualified dentist/orthodontist.

Can you get braces if your teeth are straight?

It doesn't matter whether you have straight or, bent teeth. Braces are used for correcting bite problems and bringing distantly placed tooth closer (which is a pathological problem) using bone resorption method. If you feel you have normal ‘straight’ teeth with no bite issue problems, then don't use any braces. Having braces unnecessarily will surely and only worsen your beautiful dental arrangement in the mouth. You should better visit an orthodontist (specialised dentist) or, a senior cum reputed dentist for further treatment procedures.

How to straighten teeth without braces?

Depending on the severity, a very affordable option is a corrective appliance that looks like a retainer.
It cost me $485 and worked in 5 months with monthly adjustments.

I consulted with 3 orthodontists before the last one said it should work fine and it did.
The others recommended braces or Invisalign - ranging $1,200 - $4,800 and would take a year.
When I asked my orthodontist why the others didn't recommend it, he said likely because it's a small profit margin.

I had 4 crooked teeth and they now look almost perfect. I still need to wear it at night because one tooth is the culprit in trying to push on my straight teeth. Many have crooked teeth as they get older due to many reasons and a retainer is often needed to keep them straight.

Is it common for Koreans to get braces to straighten their teeth?

Yes. It is very common, especially among young girls.Koreans are very particular about their external appearances. Almost every Korean is cautious about their diet and all the menu cards will show you calories of the food item. They are disciplined about everyday exercise. It is also very common to go under the knife, mostly to get big eyes or nose job, even for men. They wear big glasses at young age which most of them replaces with lens at a later age.Coming back to the question, Koreans usually prefer to get braces at a young age, say middle or high school or sometimes university, so they can look better at a later age, say 25+.Though this is not the case with Japan, where unaligned teeth are considered attractive.

How can you get straight teeth at home without braces?

I have tried to do this but stopped after finding out how dangerous it was. Please understand that attempting this can get you unwanted results. Moving teeth incorrectly and unprofessionally can result in short roots or damaged gums or jaws.
Anyway, orthodontic appliances are all designed to create force and apply pressure to the teeth to move them. You can do the same with simple wire and elastics (Make sure they are small). These can be purchased at a dollar store. Now, depending on if your teeth are crowded or separated, You can use these methods in different ways. Work on one or two teeth at a time. DO NOT attempt to do all at once because then they become too hard to control. If you have a gap Between your teeth, you can use the wire, wrap it around those teeth and twist it around the teeth to "Pull" the teeth together. Elastics will do the same for two teeth that need to come together. The trick is to keep constant pressure on your teeth or else they will slide back in to their original place. The more your teeth come together, the more you can tighten the wire or elastic. If your teeth are crowded, try wedging floss or pieces of rubber bands in between two teeth to push them apart. You can get really creative with different methods of how to move teeth. I DO NOT recommend doing this, but if you REALLY want to, who am I to stop you? Just make sure to keep constant pressure on your teeth or else you will make no progress. Whatever you do, don't use superglue on your teeth. It contains ingredients that will not do your body any good.
Umm, good luck with getting those straight teeth!

Can I get braces even if my teeth are perfectly straight?

I don't know if you can, but I wouldn't. I have them and they may look pretty, but they sure don't feel pretty. They're very expensive too, so if you don't need them I definitely wouldn't recommend them. You're lucky anyway, most people would die to have straight teeth like you.
